  1. I'd ruff and play a spade to the 8.
  2. So, are they using the same machines than Venezuela?
  3. 5♥ after the double, I don't like the Pass.
  4. The last match of the swiss saw the US losing the 8th spot by only one imp. Poland was playing Norway in that last match and didn't 'win' as much as they could have (they had blitzed almost all their opponents); Then, Poland lost the Finals against Norway, karma?...
  5. My partner could double spades and diamonds asking for a lead in those suits. I also lead a heart.
  6. What should partner do with: KJxx xxx KQx AKQx
  7. I'm probably not that advanced for I don't regard those problems as 'wtp?'. 1) 2/5 I have 5♥'s and nice clubs, I don't see why I would want to bid just 4♥. 2) 3/5 The problem here is that partner might pass with many hands on which we should saving in 5♣ or just letting them play (and trying to make it). 3) 3/5 The heart suit is not so great but being w/r I don't want to pass. I'd bid 4 with pd's hand, though (♣A instead of K and it's cold, ain't it?) 4) 4/5 Not so good. I bet no one has a fit in this hand... 5) 4/5 I lean to 4NT.
  8. It probably depends on the opposition but I don't want to push them into a game they might make.
  9. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/na...story?track=rss How many digits will the next one have?
  10. 6♣. Two cue-bids and then he takes me out of 3NT? 6♣, and he'd better fulfills it.
  11. I said Diamond (because I have 6). Club is my second option.
  12. What if locking away this individual doesn't 'solve' the problem? This is not a tough choice and I don't believe too much in the people who suggested 'none of the above'. Although there is a short story on this exact topic called 'The ones who walk away from Omelas' by Ursula LeGuin, so if someone is really interested, read it and we'll see if you'll really walk away from Omelas.
  13. I'd win in dummy and play ♠A and another ♠. I plan to finesse hearts and establish another spade trick.
  14. 90% sure of a 5-4 spade fit. 3♣ is just a try bid looking for a game, so I know that pd is maximum (or has great help in clubs). Let's say I ask for Key Cards: 1♦ 1♠ 2♠ 3♣ 4♠ 4NT 5♦ ??? 0 or 3 Key Cards, what now?
  15. Bidding goes: 1♠ Pass Pass 2♥ 2♠ X How would you take this double? Does it depend on you cards?
  16. Yesterday I held: [hv=d=s&v=n&s=sj8xxxhakdkckq9xx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] My partner opened the bidding with 1♦ and then: 1♦ 1♠ 2♠ ??? I bid 3♣, which is a try bid and his answer was 4♠. Would you ask for KC's?
  17. [hv=d=w&v=n&s=saktxhdak87xxxcjx]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] You open 1♦, 1♥ on your left, 3NT from partner, Pass at your right and it's back to you again...
  18. I object to the double, but I'd bid 2♠ now.
  19. Small to hand and then it's time to decide: a. if on the first trick RHO raised with an honor (with some thinking), then small to hand again. b. if on the first trick LHO won, I think I'll play RHO to have doubleton honor and then play towards dummy the second time. Why do I need to lose only 2 tricks? It's mean to bid like that against noobs.
  20. To make the game more 'natural' just create a Universal Natural System which should be played at low-level tournaments, mandatorily (?). Let players use artificial systems in important tourneys.
