  1. Looks like either a conservative 4♠ or an agressive 5NT to me. I'd preferred holding the ♣9, but I'll go for 5NT anyway.
  2. That never occured to me. Sounds like a good idea.
  3. 4♥. Both bidding and passing might be dangerous. But bidding is rather obvious IMO.
  4. He didn't open 4♠, so, obviously, LHO has great playing strength.
  5. 2♦, nothing else is remotely tempting.
  6. 4♠. Really don't see any alternative.
  7. I'd pass most of the time. 2♠ have some merit though.
  8. 2♦ GF with support. Unless partner makes a positive move, 3NT next. I'll cooperate if partner makes a slam move.
  9. Transfer and splinter looks obvious.
  10. 4♣, void in my methods. 5♦ over 4♠, but this is close.
  11. If you're talking about the World Bridge Games (the Open World Championships), I know nothing more than you.
  12. 4NT. Should be quantitative also here.
  13. Always open hands like this 4♠.
  14. Tough problem. Agree with Mike that partner's got to have a diamond control. With the fifth trump and only five minor suit cards, I think I'm just barely good enough to bid slam.
  15. 6♥. 6♣ is too much, we'll reach many non-making grands after that.
  16. Obvious double. Showing this general handtype, and a strong hand.
  17. 2NT for now, not planning to pass next time.
  18. With no 4-card major I'd respond 2NT with this strength. With a 4-car major I respond 2M, thus 2♥ here.
  19. 5♣ for me too. Seems pretty obvious.
  20. I would also respond 1♦ with this hand, playing Walsh. I'd always respond 1♦ with GF values and a good 4-card suit. We had* methods to distinguish between balanced and unbalanced hands with a 4-card major after responding 1♦. (*I've played T-Walsh for years now, where we responds 1♥ with this hand.)
  21. 3♣ is definitely forcing for me.
  22. The first one is, at best, a marginal game. I'd not be disappointed for missing it.... nor bidding it. The auction was fine by me. The second one is a terrible game, even the 3-level might be too high. Better stay out of this one. Fine auction.
  23. I don't think the hesitation points in a clear direction as to what partner was thinking about. To me this is a clear raise to 5♦. With the hesitation I'd go out of my way to avoid making a bid that might look like catering for some possible hands that might have caused partner trouble. Thus, 4♥ is out of the question. I bid 5♦ also after the hestitation.
