  1. With such a balanced hand I'm almost always passing. Especially being a passed hand, where partner's preempts might be quite wide ranging. 4♠ can easily go down, though, more often, the save costs too much.
  2. 1♥ - 2♦ (GF) 3♣ - 3♥ 3♠ - 4♦ (frivolous) 4♥
  3. I'm used to leading the king from AKJT(xx) and the queen from KQT9(xx) vs NT, partner will unblock the Q/J when holding it.
  4. Prefer this to show a balanced max with some defensive values.
  5. I'd open 1♣ and rebid 2♣. To me the hand isn't close to a reverse, with a 15-count and a void in partners suit. I'm passing 2♠.
  6. Starting with 4♣ looks obvious to me. Over 4♠ I rebid 4NT.
  7. Pass, always - unless I'm suddenly a young eager junior again.
  8. With an absolutely flat 8-count, there's no reason to bid at the 3-level vs a balancing 1-level double. Wait and see if partner is still alive.
  9. North has a clear 3NT rebid over 2NT, there's no reason to make another slam try with this minimum hand.
  10. 3NT now, no support. Probably the bid that works best to slow down partner unless he's got a monster. As others, I prefer 2NT over 2♠.
  11. Those two passers must be joking....
  12. I play football (soccer for you Americans...) and read, a lot at times (sci/fi, fantasy, crime, bridge) and spend too much time on the internet....
  13. Congratulations Hamdi!! Wish you both all the best!
  14. You've got only one entry to the Txx hand, according to the OP....
  15. In a couple of partnerships I play the direct raise as 9-11 with 3-card support. Some 8-counts are upgraded and a few 12-counts downgraded. We also raise with some 4333 hands with 4-card support that we evaluate as not fitting for a Bergen raise. However, we don't use a forcing 1NT. Not being able to play in 1NT is too costly when playing MP, IMO. And we prefer to have a single system. What we do is to have a 2-way 2/1 response, showing either a natural 2/1 or a weak (3-8) raise. In one partnership this is 1♠-2♥/1♥-2♦ (2 in the suit directly below the opening suit), in one partnership this is 1M-2♦. This isn't very hard to implement.
  16. It looks natural to kick it in with the north hand, IMO.
  17. With the north hand I'd be more afraid of missing a grand than going down at the 6-level, so just bidding 5♥ is out of the question. Give south xxxx AKQxxxx Qx -, and a grand is laydown.
  18. 2♥...3♦. Get to show a very shapely hand without much strength (unable to double 1NT). Seems perfect.
