  1. "Normal"?, maybe? "completely? maybe not. Both sides unberbid a little, especially West. I am going to assign blames for the missing game, opener (East) 10%, responder, 50%, 40% due to cards lie perfectly. I would raise to 3S as west. The reasonable sequence would be 1S - 1N - 2S -3S- 4S.
  2. I would rebid 3D without second thought, which might lead to 4S as well. But I would not redbl.
  3. Opener? who is opener? North could bid 3D, 3S, or even 2S. Certainly not 3H, not 2H either. I would have passed 3H as South.
  4. Strongly disagree, 2s cannot be decent 13 given 1nt=12-14 OK, I was sleepy when wrote that post. I would go to game directly. 11 count with 10s after Js, and Q9 in pd's suit, it worths 12 count, a full opening hand.
  5. I don't agree here. "minimum" 2S shows is a range (12-14, say). You can still invite, "pd, if your hand is not dead minimum, please bid game" I would bid 3S or 4S, depending on the score or mood. Pass is certainly not a choice.
  6. As Phil pointed out, North's 4H could suggest 4-3 H, to play. At least 4H is ambiguous. I blame North.
  7. Even with your perfect 14 count and good shape, it's still not qualified for 2S rebid. 2S at this position has to be a reverse. pd still has the chance to bid, doesn't he?
  8. With all my honors being primary cards, I am going to bid 6C.
  9. It is really hard to blame one person. South's 3C is a little unclear and 3D after dbl is a little too weak. North's passes over 3CX and South's 3C were too chicken. I assign North and South half and half.
  10. I voted for 5C and agree with what Mike said.
  11. That I don't agree. 2H in that position must show 5+.
  12. Agree completely. As Fred said, after 1S response and 2H-3H, it's impossible to get to slam, unless both players are beginners.
  13. I am surprised that this hand is on poll and not get 100% vote for 1H opening (at any seat).
  14. I don't think "pass is safe" at all. You will not get "huge negative" by pass. But you may miss a solid game or even slam while your pd holds the "right cards" and want to be "safe" as well. I will bid 3NT, 3D as a very close alternative.
  15. I may not open 5D, but it is OK. As for 4S by East, there is still chance to set it even with D lead. 4S+1 only against weakest defense.
  16. I would pass right now. If I got a chance later, I might support.
  17. I voted for "Mostly East" (the 1D opener). With 11 count, 4-3-3-3 shape (and no honor in pd's suit), to pass 1S is the most adquate action. Having said that, to rebid 1NT is not completely wrong.
