  1. I don't agree. If I have 12-13 (or 14) HCP and right shape 4441 or 4432 (short in opp's opening suit), dbl is no-brainer, isn't it? After can my pass be forcing facing pd's 8 (could be 7, up to 10) hcp?
  2. I completely agree with what Mike (mikeh) says.
  3. 1) North is 100% responsible for missing game. Second double is unclear, it could be penalty (1st dbl shows 3 suits) or a little extra for further competitive. 2) 2S by North is not forcing, imo. South's free 1NT over opp's 1H had showed his hand. I would cue-bid 2D and then introduce S later. 3) After opp's opening (and responses), it is difficult to find the slam. It is not a good slam anyway.
  4. I second "Pass quickly". pd could be 5-2-1-5 with 5-7 hcp.
  5. 4NT. Though clubs are shorter, it is much stronger and can cover pd's 4-carder.
  6. What I can say is that South underbid with 4H over North's 4D. I think South's most adequate call is 5D, followed by 5NT.
  7. another LOL :) Oh, yes, I agree 3H is unnecessary jump (splinter for club support)
  8. Well, I suppose pd's dbl shows first round control. I bid 6S.
  9. 4♥ of course. With 6th ♥ and 9 count, I would bid 4H without second thought.
  10. North-South can win at least 2(!!)♠+2♥+2♦+5♣ if West pitches ♠J, or did I miss something?
  11. I don't think it's illogical to bid 3N. It offered a choice for pd. If I had bid 1NT in the first round, 4S would never be found.
  12. I would pass. On occasions that I need aggressive, I would overcall 1NT.
  13. Words are harsh, but I have to agree.
  14. I second "1H followed by 4H".
