Larger fonts, and larger windows for results
Gerardo replied to sissill's topic in Suggestions for the Software
You can maximize the BBO window to start. Click on the chat area brings a menu, which include options to enlarge and recude the chat font. You can also enlarge the right panel, at the expense of the left one, there is a line between the two than you can drag to change the size of both. -
What is your goal? Deciding an adjustment? If so, you are looking at all you need to know, the board you are looking at. What happened at other tables is irrelevant for that decision, and so are their results. Of course the only thing relevant in the History tab there is "My table", as the other tabs are related to you (as is "My table" ) not related to the tourney! There is an Adjust entry in the menu if you are a TD, as a shorcut (instead of going to the Director tab, choose Adjust, fill the data from the board you want to adjust). That's the only TD related action outside the TD/Director tab. Already agreed on other table results'. No idea what do you mean by 'play' screen not reset tab (unless you mean V2 here) I guess it would be possible to add play/rest to that menu; however, it would tie the TD to that screen until an adjustment is resolved. Suggest using the handviewer link entry in the menu, which opens the hand in a new window and allows you to play the cards if you need them, at your own time (when you don't have other calls to attend). You lost me here. what is the 'players' screen? Still, results are not relevant, but I'd like to understand what do you mean. When you join a table, you see the results for the current board, table and section. A table might shown different scoring for the same result than another table, if they are in different sections. I might be misunderstanding you again, though.

You did mention "right hand side", "recent results" and "recent tournaments" (which I do see in the History tab in the right panel). That's what I understood, so indeed, looks like I misunderstood you.
-
The tabs on the right hand side belong show information about you as an user. Except the Director tab. There information about the tourneys you are directing (or scheduled to direct) is shown.

Mycroft: I was never in México, nor in a Montréal NABC, but the Can-Am (Montréal Regional) is certainly full of French speak (but people usualy can explain in English if requested, or you can ask a TD to translate). papasmok1: If you have issues with directors in BBO as an ACBL club (host is ACBL), message ACBL or email acbl@bridgebase.com. Other games have other contact points.

Even if this would be available, still want explanations to be written for record keeping purposes.

Gerardo replied to bjacobs's topic in BBO Support Forum
The various issues with listings, including zero tables, were fixed last night The Chrome extension is not actually BBO's. Sorry I didn't see this before. -
Why I am giving up on BBO
Gerardo replied to hrothgar's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Those are ACBL's games, not BBO's, so ACBL set the price, length, and runs them (*) (*) I'm told SYC games use the same set of TD as Speedballs (Club Directors), while Regional games do use Tournament Directors (a higher certification needed). Also, note that SYC games predate Virtual Clubs availability, so at one point they were the main, perhaps only, source of income for Clubs which had to close their doors due to the pandemic. BBO does take a cut of both fees, and Clubs get the lion's share of the SYC fee. I know that. I don't know the %ages, though. -
2 posts above: You need everyone to finish their first half, as you are removing them from their current seat (assuming same lineup for both matches). 1 post above: Correct, all of it.

You can have prepared boards for each table, but you don't need them. It does work, as long as you have 4 players in the OR, the play can start. Was usually used for GNT finals wit odd # of teams in the districts that run them online (like yours IIRC). Use +slow+, just in case. Use +private+, else you'll be flooded with requests to sit.
-
It depends, if you were a player, you can. If you were a kibitzer, you can not (but you can use BBO Myhands with one of the players' name. Also, when you leave a table, in My Table you can see ther results at that table (without further updates), until you join another table.
-
That's the organizer's call. You know, the one(s) putting the work of running the tournament. As long as they don't have discriminatory clauses (like "no <insert nationality> allowed"; but note "only <insert nationality> allowed" is OK.
-
For the normal, 2 rounds 3-way matches, you need 3 different set of boards, so might as well use random boards. For the condensed 1 round long 3-way matches, you need to the same set in all 3 matches. And yes, Paul is right (as usual), but (pre) duplication is the associated concept for the pasteboard version of 3-way matches.
-
It shows the results of the current session of the table you're at, either as a player or a kibitzer. If you're not at a table, there is nothing to show there. See BBO Myhands for not so recent hands.
-
It is possible. Start 3 matches, seat people in the open rooms. Wait until they finish playing (or adjust the unfinished boards away). Move all 12 involved people to their corresponding seat in the closed room of the match where teammates played in the open room. Wait for the Closed Rooms. Now you have 3 matches in 2 rounds. Not sure about the 1 round version, but not sure anything is needed, beyond processing of the match results (and the preduplication of boards).

Examine Table History after the tournament
Gerardo replied to jdempsey52's topic in BBO Tournament Directors Forum
At this moment (since after the move to a new myhands server a couple of months ago), myhands gets the boards with almost no delay. Post finish adjustments are reposted to myhands at the end of the review period, so please notice that adjustments post finish are reflected in the tourney leaderboard immediately, but not in myhands until the review period is over. I believe players looking at "my table" results and TDs looking at player results would see post finish adjustments in real time. If so, players looking at "Other tables" would see such traveller updated. But no such option for TDs. -
The People -> Search can look for real names, but only IF people put their real name in the real name field. So look for first name, and look for last names, see what shows up.

Clear your broswer cache, then reload the page. Note: You are using the Flash client. Flash support in browsers is going away at the end of the year (not BBO's call). At that point, the Flash client will stop working. Please move to the HTML5 client (https://www.bridgebase.com/v3 OR https://www.bridgebase.com LOGIN button)

It is your tournament. It is up to you to set up the policy.
-
Also, in the web client, there in a "Report abuse" button when you look at any profile.

I stand by my first answer. In spanish there is an idion, "tirar la piedra y esconder la mano" Your intentions are to sow FUD, as you confirmed in your last answer. By the way, collection is done when people are seated; given they can be seated only once, your claim stunk from the beginning. In the future, if you have ANY claim, provide DATA, so sunch claim can be TESTED.
-
If, as you say, was addressed via proper channels, why are you raising it here? With STILL *no data* to verify it, even when asked. Your post, so far, looks like Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. Title of post amended to show this is unverifiable until, and if, given your attitude, data is actually provided. Your call.

The Canadian Bridge Federation has been running an Annual Online Tournament (league, a week per round + KO for the top 4) for 5 years pre-COVID. Worked quite well.
