When you post a question like what do you lead or how do you play , pls post the "right" answer in few days, its true that usually there is no right answer, but I still wish to see the full hand and know how i did with that layout.
-
You of all ppl i would expect to lead the A of heart.
-
When I read this, I couldn't help but wonder why you play bridge. I know that may seem harsh, and I don't really mean it to be. But, if you're not concentrating, why play bridge instead of hearts or crazy eights? Why not bridge ? If he would play hearts you could have ask him why doesnt he play bridge. When i play online i am usually serfing the internet.

Pass or bid on after precision 2cl-opening?
Flame replied to helene_t's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
First i like Ben's 1d-1h-1s sequence better then opening 2c. Now after opeining 2c i play 2h as NF weak constructive, over this 2h i think west should pass not because 2h is the best partscore but because its probebly the best contract we can reach, 2S over 2h should show a max 2c bid trying to reach game, we almost for sure dont have a spade fit, so this 2s will just get us to 3S/3H on more likely to 3nt with not enough strengh to make it. -
Its not a question of being right, just a question of wather you understand why its right. BUT i do think there is one thing that is sometime overlooked, its the distibution chances, restricted choice attack the problem of one suit only but in bridge we have 4 suits which must come up to 13 cards in each hand, so one suit effect the other suits too. In general if there are less cards left they will rate to be evenly distributed between the hands and that may effect the overall chances.

Nice post, Im playing polish and i was trying to convince my partner to play the 1D opening to have a higher limit then our 1h/1s. I have seen some polish ccs for that. edited ------- here is a link to "your" system. http://www.ecatsbridge.com/documents/files...z-miszewska.pdf

Not sure but maybe the best is club to the A, club ruff and then Q of diamond.
-
I voted for the A of hearts, usually its wrong to lead aces but i think its ok here, atleast least of evil. The opponents bidding suggest that K of heart wont be in RHO hand and the chances of it being with LHO arent great either, also LHO will usually have 4 spades which make the spade lead less atractive.

Why Why Why ? Im guessing you've seen a rating system before where ppl cheat to get good rating. Is that it ? And now Free said it, well iv never seen an online rating system in bridge but gudging from you're responses i guess it doesnt work so well.
-
Like others said, you can be an expert with no conventions or a novice with tons on them. I would leave the skill as it is today, but consider adding rating system which would be based on all of the player's results in the past.

Maybe something like this [hv=s=skj10976hqdakq1097c]133|100|[/hv]

The 7NT alternative could be intresting at mp, if i think partner having the A of heart is more then 50% but even then i would choose 7S, at imps i dont see any other choice.
-
A club, A spade J heart. The Q of club could be needed later for entries. There are two lines now, one is to play another trump hoping east will win, the other which i think is better is not to draw a trump and hope the player with the shorter heart will have 3 spades.(or hearts are 3-3)

Thanks for all the answers, I have more expirence in bridge then most of the posters here and i can tell you this kind of things win for you. This kind of hand has lots of psicology in it, you as a declarer have a super simple plan, you can execute the almost all your cards in your sleep, the opponents have much harder job to do. A smart declarer will play it fast, a smart defenders will slow him down. It also wont be very good for your reputation to play all the hand fast and then after trick 11 start thinking. So the best is to play it fast and look at the right cards.

You really didnt understand me, im not asking whats the best line, just what are the process that you use to follow the discards inroder to know how many cards left of each suit, and maybe some extra informations. Funny now that iv said it this way, why didnt i said it before, instead of giving that stupid example.
-
Didnt know what title to give this. My question is how to process all the information, to make myself clear ill ask a simpler question first and answer it. The question - Having AKQxx vs xxx What do you do. On my eary days of bridge i would play the A, the count 4 out 6 i got 3 left. The lead the K, 8 out 4 i got 1 left... Today i dont do it this way, from the begging i know the suit will be 3-2 or 4-1 or 5-0 , i play the A then the K and if non showed up i know it was 3-2 and know one is left out. Now to the more serious question [hv=n=shaj9754daq82c532&s=sakqj10764h3d7cak9]133|200|[/hv] I was playing 7S with these hands, left lead a club, now im starting to play my trumps, and they discard and i need to follow all the details, so at the right momoent ill know how many card left of each suit, to know wather im going for a squeeze or a finnese or the clubs are just good. How do you orgenize those things when you play, do you just play all the cards and at trick 11 stop and start counting all that happend, or you maybe before u play the forst spade you know how many clubs are out and begin to count how many are left when they discard. Sorry that this isnt so clear and maybe unanswerable, but in my opinion this is more importent then know your card combinations or your trump cups and special squeezes, and i hope to get some ideas.

Penaly, even the double before (over 1NT) seems to be penalty so this one is definelty penalty.
-
Never read love, my squeeze guru is Ben (inquiry) and he called this one criss cross in his "intrudaction to squeeze" and yes it was on the simple squeezes section.
-
There is another wrong way to make this work. [hv=n=shadcqx&w=shdc&e=shdc&s=shqxdca]399|300|[/hv] This is a criss cross squeeze and like the ruffing squeese you will need to know which K is ungarded. I would also be pround to have a partner who make this 7 even if he choose the not so perfect squeeze.
-
I see it now. [hv=n=sxhdcqx&w=shdc&e=shkdckx&s=shqdcax]399|300|[/hv]

If i had to think of the best usfull meaning for this bid, it would be natural 5 card suit. Still i wouldnt bid 4H with this hand because i would afraid partner wont be on the same wave. If partner bids 4h i would pass it even tho i would be very nervous doing it. Nice score

prealert is the best way but if you didnt give a prealert , you should alert the lead.

Id hold off the diamond for one round, take the diamond cont' , play AK club to see how our "sure" tricks" are doing, let say no Jxxx offside was found, Il play heart to the Q, if it wins i play spade to the K, if it wins, club to dummy and another spade, if the K of spade is lost to the A , ill have to count on 4-4 diamond and the heart finnese (J heart with RHO) If the Q of heart lose to the A, i will still have chances like AJx with RHO and A spade with him or 4-4 diamond. In short heart to the Q.
-
Id bid 2S not double. I can understand partner's pass since his LHO isnt suppose to bid and 4sp doesnt look promissing, so why go higher then needed and why give them another chance over 2s-p-3s P P (a direct bid might not suit RHO because it might show something else like FJ, or maybe he doesnt have a bid for 2 suiter now but will have it over 3sp) Anyway even if partner bids 3s, it doesnt mean you find the 4sp.

I had a little disaster which im sad to say happend to me before, id share so maybe others will learn. Holding [hv=s=sq10xhqjxxdqxxxcq7]133|100|[/hv] Playing imp Partner open 1NT my first thought, i dont like this hand too much diffence, no where to get tricks. and RHO bid a natural 2C. We have a t.o double here so i use it and partner bid 2S, now RHO bid 3C. This happend to me before, i am thinking we have 24-26 pnts, we may have a game or be close to a game, We dont have major fit so they arent suppose to have such a big fit either, how can i let him play 3c when our side might hold 26 hcp, and other tables might play 3nt and make it. i double and 9 easy tricks are taken, and i know i just did it again, and hope next time i wont. All those Qs just dont work when someone contract is based on a long suit, this hand that seemed diffensive at first look doesnt have diffence when thier contract is based on long club suit. also thinking in terms of misfit when someone has a long good suit doesnt work. Also and this is what i keep forgetting, sometimes they just have the better points, they have less but their points are aces and kings and long suit and we are just balanced, and although we have more hcp, they have the better hand, and can make more tricks.
