  1. I really dont like the bids, i can understand partner who left you because i would have been angry too although i dont think i would leave in a middle of a turney but i would suffer alot. of all the bids 2nt is by far the worse, not only its very very bad bridgly, its also a bid that say you play alone, you dont need a partner, dont need to show ur real shape, no need to find fits, and dont want to take the chance that partner will declarer, for me this bid is offending.
  2. [hv=d=s&v=e&s=sa8643haq654dcq72]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♠ (2♦) P (P) 2♥ (3♦) D (P) ??? I think after this board i know the answer but still like to check with you.
  3. Your double is wrong. The idea behind this kind of double is this: partner lead club, dummy will play the ace, then when you win the hand play another club and my king will take. as you can see this logic wont work against grands. Ofcourse it also have the obvious problem that this contract may be cold, and u might get redoubled, and worse sometimes it can help the declarer.
  4. The good news is that you are agressive and not afraid to go down, its not dumb but you should read all the responses and you will find clues to why this bid isnt good. this exact hand wont come again but those pros and cons will help you on other hands. I can add that when you see your opponents bidding in the dark, like after you premprt or one of them prempt , you shouldnt assume they know what they are doing, they might have a cold slam here and not bidding it. One last point, if you do bid 5D do it in time a confidently, this might help more times then one can imagine.
  5. Was too hard for me, spent all day on this one. :) it looks too much like a squeese. Well done to those who solved it.
  6. when u are writing ur post, press the HIDDEN button before and after the text you want to hide.
  7. This was my solution, but its wrong play 3 diamonds to find out who has 4 of them, if west has 4 play AQ spade, if east has 4 diamonds play AK spade. You either finnese the one with 4 spade or squeese the one with 44 spade diamond.
  8. Very nice. You should write a book.
  9. Jlall you mean you run the club if east doesnt cover ?did you see that east was the overcaller ?
  10. Finnaly well done. Am i right and this is also the right line without the double dummy ?
  11. First you should play small from dummy incase west has 109xx or j9xx in clubs. Now there is a point in ruffing 2 diamonds in hand, but imo you will still be in a guess later, even if east turn out to have only 2 diamonds(3 would make it even harder), you still wont be sure if west kept A of heart single or a small heart single. still it will have a good chance since you will see how west discard
  12. I will post the full hand, maybe it will be easier as a double dummy. 6♠ from south, west lead the A of heart.[hv=n=skq2hdq52cak65432&w=sj98hak43d10876c108&e=s7h1098765dkj9cqj9&s=sa106543hqj2da43c7]399|300|[/hv]
  13. When they get the hand they play K of heart, If im not mistaken there is a better line.
  14. lol im getting confused here, for a mement i thought i made a mistake , i deleted the post and wrote a double dummy one, but now i think again that i was right at the begining and this hand has one good line that should be taken seeing only those two hands, i hope im not wrong. (almost 8 am and i didnt say gn yet)
  15. Was that a mp rubber :) I think if you arent sure and im not even sure with some of my regular partners, just bid 7 of your suit.
  16. The most natural thing to do is pass like everyone suggested and i would probebly do that at the table, but i must say Ben's idea of bidding directly seems smart.
  17. I am leading 4th best here.(no matter what your level his) I agree with Jlall, you would better by following simple leading rules. learning beyond that is very hard and should only be made with a complete work, like reading mike laurence's book on lead which i did. Any shorter way would lead to more mistakes based on "logic" then good leads. Another benefit of leading by the simple rules is giving partner all the information. There is a book by the granoveters which suggest you lead robot leads based on a list of priority that could look like this 1. AK, 2. KQJ, 3. singleton... this mean if you didnt lead an A partner know for sure you dont have an AK. I dont like this approach but the simplicity logic of it is a good one.
  18. 6 spade from south A heart lead. [hv=n=skq2hdq52cak65432&s=sa106543hqj2da43c7]133|200|[/hv]
  19. using 2sp over 2h instead of 2nt is good if the space matter, for example if you play 2h-2s/2nt to ask for short suits or good side suits, you would be better with 2sp then 2nt since you wont be already in game when partner responde 3sp. so whenever the responses structure include 3sp bid over which you arent sure you wont to be in game, you are better using 2sp then 2nt. About whats best over weak two i dont know, ouguest include quality of the suit, which could be very importent too. Responder is strong here, knowing about fetures in side suits or singlton might tell him alot about the location of his points. knowing about losers count might work sometimes. Iv seen more complex systems but i like simplicity.
  20. [hv=s=sq1054hq8643da1052c]133|100|[/hv] imps 1♣-1♥ 1♠- ??? what is your bid ?
  21. I see fantoni alot on BBO, If i understand correctly he plays with students, so you dont have to win something inorder to play with him.
  22. Thanks everyone. East had AKQX of diamond and Q of heart but not the A of clubs.
  23. [hv=n=saxhk97dxxckjxxxx&s=skqj10haj843dxxxcq]133|200|[/hv] Partner was dealer opponents are silent 1C-1H 2H-4H West lead a diamond to east Q, east catched the A and switched to spade. I couldnt tell how many diamond east had, just knew he had AKQ of them. How would you play the hearts ?
