  1. This is so true ! When you know your teammates, you can sometimes anticipate what has been done in the other room and take right decisions. This is impossible if you don't know their style ! Alain
  2. Btw, I don't know if I would have bid 1NT with that hand ! I think I would have pass And you, guys ?? Alain
  3. Depends on what your agreement is for the jump. I play them as intermediate (10-13 6 cards) so I would have bid 2♠ directly (lower limit). A 2♠ bid now shows 8-9 with 6 cards. If you play them weak, then you have to bid 2♠ now to show your 6th card and more than a NV weak two. Alain
  4. Hi Luis, Do you bid 1♠ with xxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx on 1♣-X-XX-? Is it not better to pass and let partner bid as you accept all suit ? Alain
  5. Btw I think that on 1♥ - X - XX - ? Here 1♠ is only 4 cards cause you don't remove any bid to partner and you tell him you have 4♠ to avoid the 2-level. Alain
  6. Bidding 1♠ here should promise 5 cards as you remove 1♦ and 1♥ by your partner ! If you have 4333, you pass cause you accept all suits. Better to pass with xxxx-x-xxxx-xxxx and see what happens (you can still bid 1♠ after) Alain
  7. I play Cue bid of responder = natural Cue bid of opener = 5-5 light 2NT = 5-5 good Alain
  8. IMHO, this rule is not intended for the hands where you have to choose between 4M or 3NT ! This rules applies more to hands where you are preempted and no good way to go so you simply bid 3NT because you have a stopper and that 3NT is a likely contract. Alain
  9. I'm really doubtful of that  and I can assure you that this is a 1NT opening in French Standard ! Alain
  10. Never heard of this Roland, sorry ! A lot of French play the 2NT response to Stayman as both majors so they open 1NT with both majors  Alain
  11. I will start with a simple 4♦ Possible he hasn't A or K of ♣ but then I will hear 4♥ and bid 4♠ Alain
  12. Pass and pass This is a 3♦ preempt and the shape (7222) is not very encouraging Alain
  13. I already told my story with my first dbl so I pass Alain
  14. Dbl and let's see what happens. (I also like 3NT  ) Partner is short in ♦ so I can still correct to 5♣ Alain
  15. In my method, 2♣ is 12-17(-) so I don't see where it's an underbid, sorry Alain
  16. oops, missed it but it's never too late ! Happy B-day, Frederick ! :D Alain
  17. Over a weak two, it is common that every new suit is forcing. 2NT is also forcing but probably with a fit and asking for feature or min/max with good/bad suit (depending on your partnership agreement) Alain
  18. I personnaly lead low in both case (3/5 leads). Showing you have an honour or not may help (it helps declarer too !) but I think count is more important. Alain
  19. To keep 2Y naturel, I just play 2NT as good 5-5 hand in the unbid suits. I also think that losing naturel 1M overcalls at the 1-level is a big loss. Alain
