Hi all ! First of all, I have to say that I rarely play online for some reasons : 1) playing with a pick up partner with a random system has poor interest 2) playing in tournaments where you have to wait 10 minutes between each round is boring Team games are by far more interesting because you try to play with a known partner, you don't have to wait between hands and you are only compared to the result of your teammates table so that you don't have to endure all the silly results you see in the main bridge club or in tournaments. It would therefore be great if team games were easier to arrange. A long time ago, when I joined this forum I suggested that having a kind of « partnership desk » where you can find teams (and not pairs) would be a great improvement for team games. This way, you only have build your team (4 players are easier to find than 8), register it and wait for another team to invite you to play. Regarding BAM scoring, I have to say that, as I come from the European side of the world, this form of scoring is unknown here but I agree that this should be interesting, that it is probably the most difficult and the most demanding part of the game and that it remains definitively a team event. Agree ! I would have played 6♥ after a 2NT opening and a puppet like sequence. Alain

The problem is to know why opps did not open 2♠ the round before !? It would help to know your opps here. How are their weak 2's ? Do they open with 4♥'s, with 2 aces ? Are they "crazy" enough to introduce a 5 cards suit now ? I would choose between pass (magic 200 or more ?) and 3♠ (maybe too high :) )depending on those condiderations. Alain

Partner is marked with ♥ shortness and did not act on the weak 2 so I will also go for the practical 3NT. Alain

As Phil, I don't think I'll pass this with 15 Pearsons and a 10-9 ! I like the premptive effect of 1♠ suggested by Justin and Mike but would likely have opened 1♦ at the table cause I may overcall on 4 cards suit but I've never discussed with partner about opening on 4 cards in those kind of situations. If they want to play in ♥, they will have to bid them at the 3 level cause I bid 2♠ :D

There are too many clubs in this deck: LHO must have a fit in clubs for sure. No way I am going to pass and defend 3N. 1 point for me :), I guess I understand french guys better hehe, they were french, weren't them Alain? :) They were Belgian ! :P But we play something really near SEF with ♦/4 most of the time. Don't you play something similar in Spain Gonzalo ? We often have the same opinions, so .... :) Alain
