  1. i) vul against not, you deal K10xx Axx 9xx AQ9 1C (1D) 2NT (P) ? Partner hasn't 5 clubs (He would have bid 2♦) so the problem with this hand is "Where will I find my tricks ?". Partner also knows this is IMPS and bid 2NT. Ok I pass ! ii) Game all, you deal Kxx AKJx Q109xx x 1D P 2C 2D P 3D ? I bid 3♥ showing my hand towards 3NT iii) Love all, partner deals KJx J10xxxx x AJx If I cannot show the ♦ shortness, I bid 4♥ cause it's impossible for partner to judge. iv) K10x Jxx xxxx KQx game all, partner deals 1D P 1NT P 2C P ? Close but I'll go for 2♦. Auction is still open. and finally three higher-level decisions v) vul against not, partner deals KJ10x A9xx A9x xx 1H (2H) 3C (x) 4H (5C) ? Dbl automatic with 2 small ♣ and a bal hand vi) vul against not, LHO deals KQJxxx xx Qxxx x (1H) 2H (3S) ? 4♠ for the moment. Let's see what happens. vii) vul against not, LHO deals xxx KQ109xx xxxx - (1C) 2D (2NT) ? 3♥ : I have ♥ and likely ♦
  2. Look at the first auction on the traveller ! It solves all problems, isn't it ? ROFLOLLLLLLLLLLLLLl
  3. Agree totally ! :) If you have the bid to show both suits bid it ! Better to involve partner in the preempt than discover he has ♦ after the unilateral bid of 5♣ ! Come on guys, bridge is a partnership game ! :) Alain
  4. Pass on 1♥ is fine (don't have enough for a free bid) Dbl now to show maximum pass last round and ♦ Alain
  5. 1) Yes 2) depends on 1) 3) depends on 1) 4) depends on 1) So, what is 4♣ ? Alain
  6. I don't know if i'd have redbl with that hand (maybe 1♥ is better) but now, I will give my ♦ fit cause partner don't know it yet, so 3♦ Alain
  7. Even at imps this (754 K54 QJ63 QJ6) hand is just invitational ! Alain
  8. Where I play, I expect the auction to be 1m-2♠ .. So I'd finesse ♦ directly and try to make. Alain
  9. Agree with Mike ! Pls tell me the name of that guy so that I can be sure never sit in front of him :( :) That's suicidal :( Alain
  10. I've never sat at a bridge table with my own beverages... ;)
  11. Congratulations Phil !
  12. Pass is only possible if you cheat or if you don't know what the red card is ! :P
  13. Hate to disagree with you but no, transfer there is not standard. First you want to play 2 minor often, second, you have a cue avaible to make stayman and the most important third: you want the strong guy to lead away from his honnors. Transfer is a convention used when partner opens 1NT and RHO passes. Nothing else defined :). Gonzalo, OK but : (1♠) 1NT (-) ??? What do you bid with 5♥ and invitational values ? Alain
  14. I begin to feel alone with my 2NT bid, LOL B)
  15. Sry, but I don't understand that ! :( In standard, if you rebid 2NT this is 18-19 and you have 21 ?? :) Why not open in NT then ? Alain
  16. 2NT Minimum lie :( If I open 1♦ it can be passed out and I have no rebid to show that hand Alain
  17. 1) I bid 2♥ xfer to ♠ (did I miss something ?, is it not standard ?) 2) would not occur as I'd have bid my 5 cards ♠ suit previous round ! 3) 10♠ Alain
  18. Maybe 5♣ is enough but I can't resist to 5♠ (why shoud I bid 5NT with the ♠A :P ) Alain
  19. Where do I get the pamphlet? (pretty please) 1♦ 1♥ 2♠ 3NT 4♠ 4NT 5♦(3keys) 5♥(askQ♦) 5♠(K♠+Q♦) 6♦ Pat, Where did you fit ♦ ?? :P Alain
