  4. This doesn't seem too bad...can use 2D as hearts or insert random junk here I suppose...
  5. Would be glad to play with Mr. George... :)
  6. Hmm... I think the main reason for this is simple. No coach wants to be the idiot that blew any chances of winning by failing the 2 point conversion. Some might say the coach had "no faith in his team", however, he is actually putting a lot of faith into his offense taking this move. The other side however, which may not be true, is that he is lacking faith in his defense as well. You want the coach to believe that if you lose the OT toss, you as a defense can hold them off and give your team a chance to win it. So I don't really think it has anything to do with odds. Edit: Not to mention that you are also creating a do or die situation if any time does remain on the next kick-off. The other team will do whatever it takes to try and return the ball for a touchdown. Something they wouldn't risk if the game is tied and going to OT.
  7. No...If playing puppet stayman we can find... Qxxxx AQx AJx AK Not to mention many other layouts... We have no reason to not look for a better contract here.
  8. 1st time partnership..agreed to about 11-15 depending on the hand we have.
  9. Sorry I read the 2nd line wrong...Just seems weird that a bid is allowed to be removed after all 3 players have gotten involved. Not only does removing the pass cause UI for all based on the bids after the pass, but now we all now know that the opening robot had a border-line opening hand. This TD is a little strange... Why not just request the player to continue bidding through PM?
  10. [hv=pc=n&w=sakqj6h432d983ca5&e=st942hkqt95dakjcj&d=w&v=b&b=1&a=1sp4cp4sppp&p=]560|400[/hv] I was debating 2♥, jacoby, or the splinter with the east hand. Rebids after jacoby for us were... 3♣: MIN 3♦: unspecified single 3♥: extras 3♠: unspecified void 3N: AKQ in trumps or extra length with AK 4♣: 5/5 4♦: 5/5 4♥: 5/5 After thinking the hand over, I probably had too much values for a splinter, but the T9xx in spades turned me off. Edit: Forgot to mention basic system...Standard American variant...5533
  11. I have a lot of experience running leagues using myleague(cases) from when I was head admin in my spades league. Glad to help, and I had a similar idea as well. It is just tough to get everyone together at the same time... I think the way to go is short matches as you said. Not all have time for 20+ boards online, but maybe 8, 10, or 12?

Edit: I think I found it... :)
  13. Think he is talking about partner holding a singleton rather than xx.
  14. low ♠, ruff...♥A and back to other hand until trumps are gone...I play for the 4/3 split in spades... The cross ruff seems to require 2/2 trump split if I am thinking correctly...so this should give better odds?
  15. This took place at our local club in Sweden. If other info is needed, I can supply it. The player on lead holds... ♠T9 ♥J653 ♦QT82 ♣852 What I am curious about here, is that the player bid 5♣ after my partner's 5♥ reply. This was immediately taken back by her and replaced by a pass card. The killing lead here is a diamond into partner's void to set the grand, which was not done at our table anyways. However, has there been damage done by the 5♣ bid? What actions can she legally make? I am not very good at bridge laws, so excuse me if this is beyond simple! :) Thanks, Don
  16. [hv=pc=n&s=sakqj87hakq42dk6c&n=s52ht7daj97543ca9&d=s&v=e&b=1&a=2cp3d4c4np5h6c7sppp&p=]560|400[/hv] The 6♣ bid was actually never bid, but it will not let me show 5♣...the player made an insufficient bid after our ace reply. This hand is one that I honestly have no idea how to show, but I took a shot and made. How will you handle this at MPs or teams?...and I will take the insufficient bid to the simple rulings forum for those interested.

How would you handle this at MPs or teams?

What about if they bid again? I am also slightly unsure if you count the Q as a key when showing a void? Do you agree with my 4NT or should I just stick with 5♥? Thanks! :) Don
  19. LOL! Last night I saw a message from some lady telling someone that they cannot continue like this while he still has feelings for another woman. It was almost as entertaining as Jerry Springer IMHO.
