one thing i think woud ne nice is the reason for beeing unable to register beeing shown, i dont know how hard this is to implement but something like " tourney is restricted to users of xxx language" "you are blacklisted , contact td for further info" "tourney is rectricted to country XXXXX" "tourney is restricted to level XXXX" "tourney is restricted to Friends of Td xxx, please contact host" And so on, but i find it when one reads the info given in tourneydescription one knows why he cant play, unfortunaly most ppl will never take one second to look at rules/info whatever, sad but thru M

Hi Juan, "type" is beeing used for paid tourneys where a td/organisation has gotten a code for doing those tourneys, filling in this code results in this tourney giving out masterpoints that makes those awardsymbols in players profiles, the "2","3","J", "Q","K" stuff. Regards Marc

The more conventions i learn the more i become aware my cardplay needs work. i prefer my partners to be "advancing", those who still learning, trying to improve, leaving room for a discussion afterwards, tips ,feedback, those not standing still in a diffrent era and like to play bridge like they always have(nothing wrong with it, just not the way i like it). Hi jillybean, A rule that worked for me is "alert every conventional bid", when a bid has a special meaning for a partnership i ask it to be alerted. This leaves no room for interpretations as to when something is(nt) standard, because a 1♣ beeing a different standard for polish club,precision as it is to sayc ,2/1. Some players seem to think whats standard to them isnt alertable. I always was/am /will be rather strict on non alerts, bad explanations (when language causing a prob) have more sympathy cause the will to do it right is there(alert there , explanation is tried to be given), only the "how" needs work then. When a bid isnt alerted i look for damage, if found i try to adjust properly.When the same player/pair has a bad habbit of non alerts i adjust without looking for damage(i m aware this not beeing the rule) because some think all is ok until damage is done, so never alert until opps complain, td comes to table, looks for damage, a bad habbit isnt changed easy so it needs some help. hi, I think when u are asked what a bid means, just tell them what it means to you, when u bid it, you at least hoping you and your partner give same meaning to a bid, even with a pick up partner, what possible harm can it do to you? As for the "no information avaible ", it doesnt make me happy when i see it , i ask opps then to click again the bid, when its clicked away again you go out :P at this point i already said a bid needs to be explained when asked, not discribe your hand but the info you are passing or trying to pass to your partner. As for your capps question , i think it was out of line, its not something one can do in a ZT tourney, if others allow this , well too bad, maybe thats why abuse has so much work? M

Hi, I just read someones tournament rules , amoung other things it said : "no partnershipfights. If u dont like your partner, just leave the tournament or ask him to leave" Isnt this a breach in rules of this site?but what wurrries me more is the message send to players .WE for long (most tds) are fighting against this behaviuor, all we ask is that players shoud be more carefull and stick with the player they accepted to play, cause its annoying, its work, and it tends ppl to start gambling instead of playing bridge. Bid those 2% slams, when they turn out good, stay or else leave?? But if even tds are behind this idea and encourage it, even advice it! another rule was "i like to kick pairs not complying with the rules" Is there a limit(shoud there be?) to how a td can setup his tourney and what rules he applies ? What action cant a td do when he is playing? An adjust? Sub someone? Adjust for slowplay? Do you think when one or the other is abusing a playing td wont know exactly the same as when he wasnt playing? We have no access to chat wheter or not we playing. I think there is a large diffrence between the td that does adjust, handlle issues , communicates with players using tourneychat OR the td that writes" do you own subbing, no adjusts, report slowplay and abuse directly to abuse@, no td calls" I never had any problems with a small playing field(max 8 tables, i run thse several times a day with an average of 2 playing tds) except for one time a fellow td messed a tourney up and was even abusing days later. Its like with all things in life, if u dont like it , stay away or do something else. Happy X-mas
