  1. Because a good player would unblock anyhow, why would someone play the ace that early in the hand ? He should, can and will see the endplay coming. So, yes against perfect defense you can hardly make the hand, unless West has KQ, KJ or QJ tight. GBB
  2. 3 NT, balanced 15 count with 3♥. I love it when a plan comes together  GBB :)
  3. 4♠, I have to make a try. Sometimes these preempts just work. But I have to try. Maybe pd has a second suit :) GBB
  4. So your pd could have the keycard that you needed, even though it wasn't an ace. And you have the tools to find. 5♦, I wonder if your pd would have showed it if he had it :) Very doubtfull bidding. GBB
  5. I don't think hat 5♦ can be passed. After your pd's 3♥ 4♦ should be good hand and forcing with ♦. 4 NT should be RKC for ♥ and therefor 5♦ asking for the Q. I don't think you can switch systems in the middle of the auction because it is going the wrong way. Thinking 1 or 2 steps ahead in the auction seems to help :) GBB
  6. You are pretty much for 3-3 with the small outside chance for doubleton honor somewhere. Start with small to the K and if either the Q, J or T shows, you start taking the double finesse. If small you play small to the 8 followed by the Ace. GBB :) P.S Oh, for those of you wanting to know, 47% for 3 tricks.
  7. First one is K followed by small to the 9. And then small to the ten. This will be well over 77% for 3 tricks. Second one is small to the K, followed by small to the 8. This will be slightly over 61% for 3 tricks. GBB :)
  8. Hmm, I see that not so many people pay attention to the first question asked. How to respond to pd's preempt. He opens 3♥ in first seat, followed by pass of RHO and you bid 4♥, LHO bids 4♠ and pd passes and so does your RHO. Now it is your turn to bid, or pass or do whatever you like. And there are no passes missing. GBB :)
  9. ♠10 could be great falsecard from 10xx. If real, West would be 1-3-5-4 more then likely. Since no ♦ preempt, I'll go for that. For now. I have 19.3789% chance of bringing in the ♠ for no losers. I have 9.6894% chance to make a nice play in ♣. Kx, KQ, KJ or QJ. To make sure that East doesn't drop the K under my Ace in later play I will play the ♣Ace now. And after that I will play a low ♦ from Dummy, and ruff that. Pull the last trump and play ♣. GBB :)
  10. % For stiff Jack or Ten by East is 5.6522, so that isn't very big chance. % For JT to be in West hand is 22.04351. I didn't count if West had all the ♥. But in case you wanted to know, it is an extra 1.9565%. GBB :)
  11. So you duck the ♦, declarer wins, according to you. Plays the stiff Ace of ♠ and plays the ♥ for your pd, who plays back a♦ again. You duck again ? Or you win and declarer plays the K under your Ace. Now what ? Seems you seem to thinking to much about how to endplay yourself. Them -170 start hurting after a while in MP's. GBB
  12. And how do you plan on defeating it ? And if pd didn't want ♦ back he would have played a higher one. GBB
  13. 4♦, splinter. But I think it's going to be hard for pd to make a grandslam try, since I need all specific cards and don't think there is time to find them all out. GBB
  14. I don't like my options to much, but I will bid 3♦, I do have 2 aces and 6 card suit. Maybe pd will make me happy and rebid 3♥. But I have too much for simple 2♠ GBB
  15. 2♦ simple forcing , and will bid my ♠ after that. GBB
  16. 4NT, you want to play in slam, no fooling around and start finding out what you need to know. And nice way to find out if pd kept up with his Dopi-Ropi. After his pass of 5♣ you bid 5♦ asking for trump Q. He bids 5♥, showing the Q and ♥ K and you bid 5 NT asking for any extra Kings. And he shows you the ♣ K and you bid 6♦ letting pd know that with ♦ K or shortness you want to play grand. And he bids it. GBB
  17. 2♣ on both forms of scoring. If pd has extras, he will bid again. With my luck he has a 4-3-3-3. GBB
  18. I bid 4♣, showing my hand in 1 bid, what a concept  GBB
  19. I am bidding 5♦, but I disagree with my 4♥ bid. maybe in a pick-up game, but with regular pd's our first and second seat preempts tend to be decent. Give pd something like AKxxxxx and stiff ♣ and we have nice slam, but maybe I am just dreaming. GBB
  20. I would reopen with a double. I asked for ♣ back but he didn't, so I am sure he has a reason for that. The small ♦ is asking for ♦ back, so I will. GBB
  21. Pass, should have opened earlier, now I fixed myself. GBB :D
  22. [hv=d=n&v=b&s=sxha87xdakxck109xx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Pd opens 1♦, RHO passes and you bid 1♥, LHO gets in with 3♠, pd and RHO pass. Do you agree with bidding so far and what would you bid next ? GBB :D
  23. No wonder your pd's always think you have a different hand then you project during the bidding ;) 3♠ for me. GBB :P
