  1. 2♣ opening shows either weak majors or strong hand. Mike ;)
  2. Too many names to name. Mike ;)
  3. I base my decision on the bidding. I lead different on different occasions, mostly depending on bidding and my mood (aka tablefeel) Mike :)
  4. Judgement and tablefeel. Can't be learned, either you do have it or you don't. Experience might make up for a little bit, but that takes years :) Mike :D
  5. You just showed the main reason why I and most others play 2M as 5M and 4+ minor. Never good to preempt pd out. Mike :)
  6. it seems unreasonable to me for a mini or weak nt to *have* to have 5 controls... i think that's about average for a 15-17 nt... for me, 10-13 nt must have 2 controls, with 4 counting as "max" (if the 2♦ bidding gets to the min/max ask) That's the main reason why I used to play with these pd's. Taking all the fun away. Mike :D
  7. 2♣ is Bluffing Stayman. Mike :)
  8. Too bad Marc, am sure many will miss you. Mike  P.S. we hebben nog een TD nodig bij Nederlandse club, 1 keer per week. Als je interesse hebt laat mij maar weten. ;)
  9. I don't think it can make. Mike
  10. Win the ace, and ruff a ♦. Ace of ♣ and a little ♣. West wins the King I imagine. And just because I have bad luck he play back the last ♣. I will ruff with the 9, of course overruffed with the 10. Otherwise I will get 8 tricks thru a x-ruff. Now east is pretty much endplayed since a trump back I win and start playing ♣. West must have 4♥ for his X. At some point I will endplay west to play away from his Ace of ♠. Mike
  11. With a pair like that I don't think, it matters what system they play. It's their judgement and cardevaluation what makes them good, they might even win playing SAYC  Mike ;)
  12. That's why I play 10-12 NT's, then this hand is considered good  But playing 11+ -14 I think this hand can be passed. Some of the people I used to play with, playing 11-14 NT, wanted to have for 11 count to have exact 2 aces and 1K. Whatever your style is, stick to it. So pd knows for next time. Mike ;)
  13. I don't think a 4♠ preempt is going to do the job for you. If you think this is a preempt, at least preempt at 5 level then, possibly even 6 level. You bidding 4 ♠ ain't stopping nobody, expect pd. Mike
  14. We agree on ZARpoints too. Mike :D
  15. You are doing an excellent job. Some of my my Fifth Chair students play there and are very very happy and impressed with all the effort and work you put in. Keep it up. Mike
  16. Thx Ben, I learned something. Mike
  17. Sometimes opps just make a good lead, happens against me all the time. :D Sometimes opps know more then other players do. I ain't worried about it, I am not playing for money or glory here, I do that in real life. Well as soon as I win the lottery and can quit my job and go chase fulltime bridge again. If people need to seek other means to win something like this, I just feel very very sorry for them. Hope they sleep good at night, but that I doubt  Mike :D
  18. I was playing this hand with a good pd, but this was one of our first times playing. So it was undiscussed. Mike :D
  19. It's a clear 1♥ opener to me. Might still get us in trouble, but that happens with these kinda hands. Can't win em all, but excuse me for keep on trying  Mike :D
  20. 4 NT, RKC and possibly to play 6 NT in my hand. I have a lot of extras, and I need to make a try. Mike
  21. Must have to much free times on your hand. It takes years to get a program like Jack and the other 50 or so that are out there to work. Fulltime work, especially in beginning, if you would have started this 10 years or longer ago, maybe you would have had a change. The market is already overflowing, unless you can teach a program how to handle psyches  That's about the only thing missing. Mike :D
