The % play is to play the Jack of ♠ at trick 2, and west wins. When you get in to play the ♠ Ace. 35.61% Chance of getting 3 tricks, not all that good. Mike

When I X and my pd bids 2♥, I will bid 2♠, showing what I have 8-10 HCP and ♠ fit. Mike ;) P.S. not sure what psyche you are talking about. The opening 1♠ bid or the 1 NT ?
-
I would X and then lead 7 of ♠. Mike ;)

and my superior defensive play,

Cue bid the Blackwood
Trpltrbl replied to 1eyedjack's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Most cuebid first or second round controls, Aces/ Kings or Singletons/ Voids, therefore you still need RKC to find out about the rest, including the Q of trump and possibly specific kings that haven't been shown. Mike ;) -
what the 5h meaning?
Trpltrbl replied to happybridge's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Sounds like pd has first round control in ♠, but he is denying first round control in minor suits. Not sure what he is bidding 5♥ on, but I will pass. Mike ;) -
opening bids (overcalls)
Trpltrbl replied to ehhh's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
You can open at all levels with whatever you want. I like to play in first or second seat, sound weak 2's, after that I will do anything. Mike ;) -
Ugh, this is a problem hand. I think some sort of Intermediate Jump, or stronger would work nice. Otherwise I will X first, if that shows some strong hand. And then either cuebid or Jump in ♥. Pd's pass of 2♦ I don't get, clearcut X. Getting to the grand might be kinda hard, but slam should be easy to get too, after ♥ fit is established. With ZARpoints even easier. Mike ;)

All I will say is that if they don't recognize a 96% winning line, then there was something wrong with them. We all make mistakes but this is a horrible one. The chance of taking all tricks is only 40%, so you taking a 56% risk of going down. Not good. You start with playing the Ace, and then you play the 9 and if not covered you duck it out. Covers all situations. Mike ;) P.S. This goes back a long way, before you were here on BBO forums. But I have always said, and will for a long time, that there are very many stars and other so-called worldclass/ expert players out there that are just hopeless. They make their contracts when suits split 3-2 and 3-3 and so on. But How you recognize a player who actually really is good, is one that makes safety plays, to insure his contract is save above anything.

Now that I finally figured out what is going on, sigh, I guess I am stupid. Now I agree with Free. Mike ;)

[hv=d=e&v=b&n=shdc&w=sj62hk952daq52ckq&e=shdc&s=sqt7h64dt76ct9874]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] I guess this is what the hand should look like ? Mike ;)

I agree with Misho. Mike ;)

3♣ is asking for stopper for 3 NT or is good hand with ♥ support. Either way east has to bid 3♦, showing a hand with no ♣ stopper. I think 2♥ directly would have done the job just fine, and then you would have not been in this trouble. Or how about opening 1 NT ? You have 15 count, if you don't like it enough to open 1 NT why is is getting better after opps 2♣ bid ? Open 1 NT or rebid 2♥. It tends to help when you think ahead of the bidding. Mike ;)
-
5♥ is bid to be made opposite a minimum hand, I have great hand now. common sense will tell me to bid 6♥, where can pd possibly have his points to justify his 5♥ call, either void in ♠, which I doubt or at least 1 ace. Mike ;)
-
1 ) I'll open any day of the week 2 ) 3♥, unless I play with myself, then I XX 3 ) I strongly disagree with the ♥ bids from N/S Mike ;)
-
I think you will get there even with a regular system and point count as long as you play specific Kings ;) 1♠ - 2NT 4♦ - 4 NT 5♥ - 5 NT 6♣ - 7♠ 4♦ = another long suit ( just what you wanted to hear ) 4NT = RKC for ♠ 5♥ = 2 Keycard without Queen of trump 5NT = asking for specific Kings, start bidding the lowest 6♣ = King of♣ 7♠ I can count at least 13 tricks, let's go and win 13 Imps :D Mike :D

It's a great hand to defend, but I don't know many that will pass if pd X. If we can only find out pd has Ax of ♣ hehe too bad we can't. Mike ;)
-
It's a psyche, and you cannot alert a psyche. How many times does this need to be told to you ? Why not just tell opps your exact hand, and get it over with. Mike ;)
-
It's nice, but if they go to NT and now declarer knows excatly what to do in that suit. Wouldn't do it too often. And I think it is best only to be used in 7. Mike ;)

Insane Mike :D

No Comment. So many forms of precision. Mike

And another thing, How can I lead ♣10. Was fairly sure that leading out of turn was impossible on BBO ? Maybe because you are a yellow you have special priviligies, not that this is a good one hehehe. Of course I can still be stupid  Mike :D
-
I must be stupid, cause I can't imagine all of you are. When the 2 of ♠ is played from dummy and I played the 7 if my pd has the A9 of ♠, why in Godsname would he duck the ♠ king? To make sure opps are making their unmakeable Vul contract since we had 3 natural ♠ tricks? Mike
