I would have passed out 2H, however now in this situation I would double 3N, sure if they've had a miracle auction and it makes then well done ops, but I'm not letting them play 3N undoubled, when they were previously settling for a part score at the 2 level.

I have to say playing with the robots I do feel at times that things aren't random, and cards are programmed to split badly/finesses to fail etc. sometimes u have hand after hand with 5-0 splits and three finesses failing every hand and after a while it can get quite tiresome!!

Thanks all for feedback. I played low and LHO had led from KJTxxx so that was that. We got a 95% board, if I had hopped, we get a 80% board (yes it's that level). so, I think I made the wrong decision even though it led to a better result. When I was thinking about it after, I thought there was another negative factor of playing small against weaker players, in that they're more likely just to blindly switch to their best suit rather than thinking about the overall hand, which would make a spade switch more likely than a heart. but anyway, my MP-itis worked out okay!

you can take it from me the opponents would never have even heard of coded 10s and 9s

even if I played something fancy (And I agree with Tyler that some sort of Leb is fairly essential) think I would just bid 3N anyway. partner might have a spade stop, they might not lead a spade ... who knows maybe we get a small spade lead from AKxxx and then have 9 cashers ;)

would open your hand 1H ... 1H 2C 3C ... then, with respect, fairly trivial to find grand your hand is way too powerful to open 3H. I tend not to bother calling director in club duplicates, other than unavoidable revoke/LOOT type calls I've called once ever, and that was when someone vul vs not after 1N p p bid 2s on jxxxx xxx qxx xxx after a long tank from their partner lol however I think if you call director, which you're totally within your rights to, the actions of opponents kicking up a fuss/arguing is despicable.
