  1. Yes Søren - sounds very interesting! but... Please think it over - it has become standard here on BBO that all systems are accepted in tournaments. I think that is right so. I don't like to see a lot of tournaments established for standard classic players only - do you?
  2. Here is a hand dealer for excercising SAYC http://home.san.rr.com/amelucci/SADealer/SADealer.html
  3. Here is a hand dealer for excercising Precision: http://home.san.rr.com/amelucci/Dealer/Dealer.html
  4. Currified Precision I have just got this interesting link for a private system. It is a mix-system between Precision(Belladonna/Garozzo) and Meckwell Club. http://home.san.rr.com/amelucci/currie.html

  6. Right Orla - you mostly don't have much time! Though I have noticed a few serious organizers of tournaments informing that the first 2 minutes of each round are for exchange of information of systems and not for play.
  7. You really don't need using very much power to take the air out of this balloon. State your own suits in absolute terms and not in relative terms - and the problems are over. Truscott convention is created for such. http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/truscott.msnw
  8. I think it will be worth trying a simple solution like making it mandatory to load a convention card. If it is not possible yet I think it will be very simple to implement that no cards loads unless both partners on each side have confirmed their cc. - This procedure must be repeated if changes in partnership.
  9. Looks simple and fair - I like to try such Luis!
  10. Files for handling all of the uploaded systems incl. convention cards in ZONE- and BBO-layout. You will also find a file to most systems containing relevant texts to insert into the alert-box. All available for download to your computer from this link: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/installation.msnw To access the files please first follow the instructions on this help-site: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/help.msnw
  11. On BBO like in high-level competitions all kind of systems and conventions are acceptable. All bids not standard in SAYC must be alerted and explained. If in doubt - you must alert! So far so good - fair and simple. I have also had bad experiences with poles. Mostly they dont have the skills in english needed for going international. Somebody ought to tell them that standards for alerts of bids in Polish Club is different outside Poland where this system is only one of many and not main-stream as in Poland. If somebody like to know - Wilkosz convention is not used by the 2 polish top-pairs Balicki/Zmudzinski and Kwiecien/Pszczola. They both use the new polish approach: 2D=6-11,a 6cd MAJOR 2H=6-11,5cd + a suit 2S=6-11,5cd + a minor 2NT=6-11,5-5 minors I think I do whatever possible to pre-alert the system in general and alert and explain all bids where such is in place. I always play acc. to a loaded convention card which opps. are informed of and they are asked to load a cc for their system too. Sad to say - really nobody loads a convention card. Now I have started simply to query all low-level bids of opps( <3NT) if they dont load a cc. Time will show if that is acceptable to them constantly to re-write explanations or instead live up to the standards for the game - playing according to the rules stated in their convention card.
  12. Mike I really hope this thread is not going off-track and I don't think so. Please let me quote an earlier answer from me to you: Please note - the aim of this thread is still the same
  13. I really like that Michael! I am sorry I am unable to qualify your argumentation. I simply dont have much experience in this area. - But your points looks very good to me and I recognize the arguments I use for opps. when I play pass-systems. There opps. also feel they are cheated - and I encourage them to instead to see such strange features as an option for them to have some experience with new features. Some accept this argument and some even are more interested to look into such themselves. I think you give attention to an important matter, to generate defense against features people dont know or don't want to use themselves. A strong argument for psyche against weaker opponents too I think. I have no idea how to create a defense against psyches. I assume a feature for discovering a psyche before it is too late will need to be a part of such. I would like some of our expert's to come up with something. Lately I have studied several cc's of international champion pairs. Those I have seen have no such defense and their cc normally states they rarely psyches. Maybe that's the reason. I don't know EHAA, but I have the impression it is basic standard classic. If I am wrong in that Michael, how about psyche in alert-requiring bids? Thank you for your contribution Michael - really refreshing!
  14. Hi Misho I think it is a pity you and others are trying to encourage players new to bridge or new to artificial systems to create their own versions. As I dont play standard classic systems I often look into ID's of several persons. I see around half of your country fellows states PRECISION in their card. Often they add NT=15-17. I have often entered such persons - but they admit they dont know precision. Least of all Power-Precision, which is the only version I know of using NT=15-17. I am informed of the reason: Lack of money for the books describing the systems Lack of skills in english to read the books Lack of foreign currency for importing the books The heritage of cold war and iron curtain is still a part of our conditions. When I enter american players they always knows the real versions, mostly the Goren book and the Goren/Wei book but sometimes Jannersten is the basic. Those knowing the real champion versions seems to be world class skill players and italians. Not only of Precision but of Blue Team and Roman Club as well. Those few I have met from Eastern Europe able to play the real systems are those travelling abroad for business purposes and they have no problem in english either. Instead of all those light statements of what to do creating personal versions I would like to see you organizing the hard task to produce a translation into the bulgarian language of one of the real versions/books. I think and hope some of your excellent top-players here on BBO will be ready to help. A chapter or two for each - and your country fellows will have the information they need and really asks for. If you think it will be helpful in that process you are welcome to translate in my web-sites. I don't claim copyright for such. I have stated no theory - that I assume as well known stuff. Therefore you will still have to do that. You know of course quite well to create/modify a bridge-system you need skills in theory, analyzing and mathematic. Else you just create some plaything - and I think that is not your aim.
  15. Hi Ron The 2-level openings are described in the book I know you are familiar to: "The Polish Club" by Greg Matula, page 171-173. Acc. to this book those openings was introduced due to the ban of Wilkosz convention. Those openings are the ones which are used in Polish Club - Balicki/Zmudzinski and in lighter strength by Kwiecien/Pszczola too. Those openings are repeated in their defenses as well.
  16. By that day I intend to change my skill level into world class - how about that Erkson?

  19. This topic is a branch fallen off another tree. Here the response structure over 1C open for 4 great italian bridge systems. None of these are using transfer-response. Roman Club: Responses showing strength and distribution Leghorn Diam: Control responses Blue Team: Control responses Quadri Italia: Control responses Yours Claus - csdenmark :) Please nurture this well with solid statements and documentation - and I am sure this tree will prospere! Please Ron - the audience is yours! Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  20. Sorry Ron! I don't know how BZ played last you played - I have never had that great honour. What I refer to is the information which can be extracted from BZ convention card used for Bermuda Bowls 2001 and other high level champion competitions. With your big knowledge of BZ's methods I don't think it is right to ask whether polish standard methods for slam are used and whether 0314 or 1430. You simply ought to know. They use a special method after relay sequences or if not enough space available. They use 1430. You will also be able to see they have a very relaxed way for relay's. They don't need hammer hand-patterns out where they dont need them. Therefore BZ has a light relay structure. It is for practical use and not a desk-top system. Over 2C opening you will see a deep relay structure. Please note! I am not the composer of BZ-system. I have pictured it - I am a photographer and only that! From these WEB-sites you will be able to find all information: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/cs.msnw Now I think this thread ought to return to pass-systems. Yours Claus - csdenmark :)

  23. Sorry Rain if my contribution can be misunderstood in that way. In no way I have any intensions trying to insult you or others putting up "Private" in skill level or anywhere else. Please accept my apology! I refer to those setting up their nickname as something like "+" and "*!*" and then the rest of their ID consists only of: Name: Private E-mail: Private Skill level: Private and rest: empty It is the whole composition of the ID I refer to and and stamp a judgement for. It is not a specific field. Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  24. No wonder we are of different views here too Richard, lol If somebody is asked to change their nickname into a main-stream and uniform way - they ought to do so as quick as possible. They are asked so I think 14 days ago - and several has chosen not to obey a polite request from management. That is disorderly and misconduct. Please look into some of those ID's. Silly nickname consisting of some weird characters - name "Private", E-mail: "Private", Skill-level:"Private". - Rest often empty. Please remember internet is not only for serious people. It is a true playground for children - and most of those I have seen of such silly ID's I think are children. I think Uday has no intensions to restrict anything stated inside ID and as long this is not really harrasments it is OK I think. People stamps themselves - and that's their own choice. And Richard please note - I think dealing with other people is a serious matter. Therefore societies are based on moral standards. Letting such slipping all too much away you will simply loose integrity of individuals. Yours Claus - csdenmark ;)
  25. You know better than that Dick. Those chinese and russians who wants to be serious seems to have no problems translating their names into something western-like. Please don't worry about my name: Claus Sønderkøge. I don't like the english interpretation: Claus Soenderkoege. That's the way danes, scandinavians and germans overcome that little problem. 20 years ago we wondered - but no longer! As a curiosity I like to inform you I have a chinese friend with a name like this on Messenger: ¤¤¤¤¤¤. On BBO he uses a quite ordinary name with no problems either to read or to pronounce. The weird characters I have seen most are made by italians and french and some poles too. To set up a nickname as "+" or "*!*" has nothing to do with eastern or any other alphabet. That is simply misconduct. I think Uday will be very right restricting such fooliness. Yours Claus - csdenmark ;)
