  1. Hi Richard I am quite aware of your love to Moscito Club System and realy's too. In my opinion rarely played systems must be played in a simple way easy to learn and easy to handle. Else they are not played at all. Therefore the widespread popularity of Lambda in Poland. There the natural version is played and only very few uses Lambda Complex(Super Lambda). I think the polish openings are excellent for a natural continuation. 4-5 or 5-5 openings really don't need much more. Maybe a Splinter raise. Other openings are of course therefore defined as 1-suiters or semi-balanced. Relay or not - the real problem in pass-systems seems to be the weak opening(1D=polish, 1H=Moscito). There I would have preferred something like Blakset 2S opening. But that's another system and therefore not relevant. I have no intensions commenting your examples. They will be opened differently in different systems. If you want a comment on anything - please construct an example using the features of any of the uploaded systems I have committed to accept invitation for. But basically I don't like doubles at all. They are subject to all too many unsolid misunderstandings. I prefere conventions. Yours Claus - csdenmark ;)
  2. Hi Todd I am delighted to see you don't feel comfortable with my accusation to you and I don't like to make such statements either. But I really think I am justified. You are not the first one and not the second one and and not the third one......... who have done so. Mostly it has been calls from incognito's claiming to be an expert. After the ability to display links as links on BBO I no longer receive such calls - people are now informed that a partnership with me must be based on applying to code of conduct. Todd you responded to my adverticing. - Thank you for that! - You asked me to play bridge and I think I am right to assume you therefore have no intensions rushing away from your computer. Anything can happen of course - but normally my partners then make a short notice - lacking the eye-contact - that conversation has to be postponed or ended. Like anybody else you have an option to look into the files I have uploaded to WEB and to download the desk-top versions too. As you responded to my adverticing incl. display of this link: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/cs.msnw the information of that was available to you. I think I know the file you refer to for opening bids - it is uploaded too. But using the files there is no really point in long theoretical discussions. Just take a chance - see what may come - and then we will be ready for sharing our experience from that! When I jump into a new partner - that's the basis for start of partnerships playing Precision - Roman Club - Polish Club etc. I simply don't see the need for other kind of agreements just because the system is a bit different. That is the reason for my statement "completely wrong". Yours Claus - csdenmark ;)
  3. Dear Ron! What's the problem. About a month ago you were so kind to provide me this document: Strong Pass – Marston-Burgess circa 1985 P 13+ any 1C 8-12, 4+H, may be canape 1D 8-12, 4+S. Pre empt To 2C 2D Relay Rest inv natural To 2D 2H Relay Rest inv Except for 3C which is a transfer to H!!!! NB After relay responses Use symmetric relay if desired, else you can bid naturally. After an invitational relay, 1 step shows a min. Rest are natural and max. On that basis I have created files for handling. The files are available to anybody interested via my web-sites. No problem with that. I have no intensions trying to re-invent systems - I try to handle as near as possible to origin. Therefore I prefer true versions. Such are rather simple and acc. to rule of 80/20. Others I play those systems with are of a similar opinion. It is NOT necessary with very complex structures like those in the system for T-Rex I received from you or those I have seen for Tresboof. Precision is in several WEI-approved versions too. CC Wei has published a book with a simplified version. Here I prefer the true championversion Belladonna/Garozzo incl. 3D-Sharif. I certainly still hope I will have the full system notes we have talked about for Moscito. Regarding Meckwell - some tells about the 800 pages you refer to some tells such a document is not published - simply because it don't exist's. Looks more like a myth. If you like to play Meckwell acc. to the Bermuda Bowl version - I will be ready any time. I don't need to discuss before play - actually I just need switching my files for another system - but please give me 10 seconds for that! Yours Claus - csdenmark ;)
  4. No Todd - completely wrong To play pass systems is neither more complicated nor more brave than playing club or diamond systems. Oh perhaps - you need to be a bit more alert when partner opens with a PASS. Only opps. are alerted - yourself need to be awake and remember. I simply don't understand why you may think partners are able to play less well defined systems(standard classic) with no really agreements but playing acc. to more restrict rules cannot be done in this way. This simply makes no sense to me. Twisting arguments the other way around I think would be right. The better the language is the better and more easily you understand the message. - That's what bridge is about. Bridge has 3 phases: Offensive Interference handles Defensive The characteristica for a system is Offensive - but that is the minor part of bridge. With no system you will be able to play champion-bridge from day one with a new partner. In Vugraph we see well established partnerships often make silly judgements causing misunderstandings as well. Todd you asked me yesterday to play Tresboof - very well. I declined because I dont know it. I play pass-systems rather little - no partners. I don't like deep relay's and therefore I don't invest much time in that. Anytime, with no agreements, I will be ready to play: Lambda Beznazwy Moscito with anybody in a simple/natural way. Yesterday I asked you too - but you didn't answer me. I understood the message of your silence - but bad manners it is. I am getting used to that way of poor habits from several persons. I like to inform those interested that we right now are working very hard - in Denmark and in Poland - to have one of the modern and serious polish pass systems(SUSPENSOR) translated into english so it will possible for everybody to play that system. I hope very much it will be the true version of Balicki/Zmudzinski - used in high level championchip play. I am not sure we will succeed in that - and I need to rely on those contacts we will be able to get in Poland. Anyhow I intend to create files for that system in full relay version - and by that time I will be ready to play that system acc. to the correct definitions inclusive relay's. Yours Claus - csdenmark ;)
  5. This kind of information has been discussed before. The problem is still the additional table information is not displayed unless you point specifically on that to the left. - And most players just jump into an empty seat and let come what may. If they dont like it - nothing prevents them to leave quickly jumping into somewhere else. Displaying the table-info pointing to an empty seat will probably solve the matter. Fine-tuning can be done displaying partner info in this way: Pointing to table: Display host-ID + table discription Pointing to North: Display South-ID + table discription Pointing to South: Display North-ID + table discription Pointing to West: Display East-ID + table discription Pointing to East: Display West-ID + table discription If partners seat is empty: Display host-ID + table discription Above rules looks clear to me - and ought therefore to be no really problem to put into programme. It is a simple decision table - and that it what programmers likes best! Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  6. No luis - completely wrong! I have no problems playing for the first time with anybody! Some like to play that as standard classic - I don't. Yours Claus - csdenmark :)

  8. Nice to read about all those to count for play of forcing pass-systems. Really none of the honoured contrebutors here have ever responded to my excessive adverticing. - Others occasionally do so - but none of those who are informing they enjoy playing such systems responds to me and I am never informed of they are playing such and I have never seen. Yours Claus -csdenmark :)
  9. Looking in to Polish Club - Balicki/Zmudzinski - you will find the polish defense. You dont need to re-invent! Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  10. I agree completely to Todd I have stated those complaints myself in more threads. Language and convention cards causing troubles not only in tournaments but in main club as well. Bridge is more than playing cards well! Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  11. Despite I have added myself to partnership desk I have a few times needed to decline invitations. Certainly I am sad to do so. The reason for my decline is: I don't want to play standard classic(sayc, 2o1, acol etc.). I have a lot of systems I like to play on my ID to be displayed to anyone looking for partners. I dont want to accept incognito's for partnership. I cannot inform of such to partnership desk - I need to communicate. Due to the fact that approx. 90% of the players play nothing else but standard classic I need to communicate with a person before accepting a partnership. The new way providing more information - but not that kind of information needed - prohibits me from communication with that person before I accept or decline. I am therefore forced to decline. Temporarly my solution to the problem is not to add myself to partnership desk. I think I am one of few persons who liked the former way of inviting from partnership desk better. How about a "Yes - but" button or something like that. I want to respond positively - which I am expected to do signing up to partnership desk. Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  12. For you to download I have now added files for handling of POLISH CLUB - Balicki/Zmudzinski. http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/pol.msnw Some may have problems accessing the uploaded files. You overcome this problem by changing language into "english US" here: http://groups.msn.com/changelanguage.msnw The explanation is you are redirected to a Microsoft Server specifically directed for your country. If access is denied for you most probably you need to sign in to NET-passport using this link: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/join GENERAL APPROACH Artificial, but not necessarily strong, club systems(Roman Club, POLISH CLUB, 2-SUIT-BIDS) Polish Club 3way club, 5cardM, 1D=4+, 1NT 15- -18 may have 5M or 6m, sound initial auction, 1NT resp over 1M semiF; preempts classic, special 2 level openings, many FIT bids-artificial ________________________________________________________ Next to come: MAGIC DIAMOND - a swedish system ________________________________________________________ I am looking for partners: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/cs.msnw Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  13. Dear Fred Please let me clarify a bit. On other sites I know of you are not asked to state your basic personal information. I really like the ability to do so on BBO. Whenever I meet new people - the first thing for me to do is a short presentation - my name and why I start a contact. In scandinavia, and from the contributions here I understand not only in scandinavia, it is basic for dealing with other people. - I don't want to deal with people not applying to code of conduct -on BBO I simply cut communications. Fred please tell me - is those turned into black able to see they are so by me - or are they only prevented to reply? For me such is only a problem regarding opps. - I never accept an anonumeous partner. But I really feel uncomfortable as I occacionally need to play with those. They cannot ask me for additional information and I don't think that is right either. I don't need people's real names. In fact I don't care at all. - All I want is to try only to deal with decent and serious people. People stating their names as "Just call me Joe" or "Deep Purple" stamps themselves - I think we very much agree on that! I think it is very fine people like to use all of the features this game offers. Convention Card is the place to state such. - Again I think we agree. I know quite well you are not able to verify such - and therefore I didn't asked for it at all. - All I ask for is to change the policy so that players are informed of dealing with other people is a serious matter and that standard procedures for such are the guidelines. In software you are doing a lot to prevent cheating - so if interested to make modifications in this area - I am not sure needed - you may simply test the strings for: Name: Private or empty: No logon else logon E-mail: @ included else clear the string Yours Claus - csdenmark :D
  14. This is not about the problem John Laird started this thread with - but the head-line is appropriate for this. Since our chat-window no longer clears when entering a another table - and good so - I have got a problem. New opps. no longer notice a welcome/pre-alert message. How about inserting 3 blank lines when entering a new table? In that way you will still have the ability to trace your private-chat backwards but you will also be notified of chat from a new table-host. Such initial information is given to ease entry and quickly to inform of the basic-specialities(name of system, basics of system and about convention card). Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  15. State your name - please! Today and yesterday too i noticed the information from BBO management that members have the right to privacy - and therefore they don't need to put up their real identity on their ID. I assume this message is a result of several complaints to management. I certainly agree that anybody has the right to privacy - but dealing with other people you also need to apply to code of conduct. Refuse to provide basic personal information when you are asked to is not protection of privacy it is simply misconduct - violation of code of conduct. Please correct BBO policy Yours Claus - csdenmark >:)
  16. Thank you very much for your kind contributions I think I now have got the answers to handle a delicate subject correct. Not to psyche against weak opponents Give the explanation(deliberate lie) as your partnership agreements prescribe If a convention card is loaded it is mandatory to repeat that info and nothing else Not to psyche in an alert-requering bid Thank you - yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  17. This idea of a match was created before we had the option playing team-tournaments here on BBO. Today we have several team tournaments every evening - and this proposed one will not be an exceptional event - it will simply be one of many. Like Kurt I also think it is not right to exclude Luis who started this. It is not right in any situation in life I think that some powerful persons try to take over from others. I see Luis proposed Moscito as the system to be used. Fair enough - but if you had the intensions to test something I think it would have been wise to choose one of the most widespread used non-natural systems. I think of course of Precision and Polish Club. I see from last contribution by Richard the match is to be played at 8pm(Las Vegas) ~ 6am(Rome). I think most BBO members today are europeans and we will be sleeping while you play - good luck to all of you! A last comment to Kurt about confusion caused by art. systems. In general I disagree with you but I think I can see some features where the ability to confuse opps. is the real asset. I think of transfer openings like those in Moscito and I think of weak/strong Multi's like Wilkosz convention. In contrast to that I think limit/strong openings like Precision with the only real aim to benefit from narrow bid-limits are as well fair as sound. In most art. systems continuations after art. opening bids(and perhaps a single control response) are very natural. Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  18. A very fine explanation from Fred I think - but I think there are one more point. That is our own computer. Please be sure your own computer always is optimized. You do that by running your application DEFRAG regularly. Using dial-up you need more often than by broadband. SCANDISC is also a part of what you can do yourself to be sure that from your end everything is working best possible. Before I got ADSL I ran DEFRAG every day before connection - made my computer just as stable as today where I no longer need that. Yours Claus - csdenmark B)
  19. For you to download I have now added files for handling of PRECISION - Cinderella Team/CC Wei. http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/precision1.msnw Some may have problems accessing the uploaded files. You overcome this problem by changing language into "english US" here: http://groups.msn.com/changelanguage.msnw The explanation is you are redirected to a Microsoft Server specifically directed for your country. If access is denied for you most probably you need to sign in to NET-passport using this link: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/join GENERAL APPROACH The PRECISION Club system is basically a strong club system using 5 card majors. This is a light structure where you are welcome to fill out yourself using standard bidding. What is not defined, is natural bidding. This means playing with a partner who bases a strong club structure on "homecooking", this is the precision-version for you to use. This version - in reality the start of Precision system - uses negative impossible and forcing NT-response. You now have 4 versions of Precision available: Wei - Cinderella Team Wei - Simplified Goren/Wei/Reese Belladonna/Garrozzo ___________________________________________________________ Next to come: SUSPENSOR - a pass system in relay version ____________________________________________________________ I am looking for partners: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/cs.msnw Yours Claus - csdenmark B)
  20. No sorry Mike! The aim of this topic is NOT how to deal with rude, sick or other kind of specialities of mankind. They are simple to handle - no need to discuss such! It is really about how to deal with a serious and important part of the game. And it is about the guidelines for such, especially the different way psyches have to be handled in online bridge compared to face to face bridge. It is about the laws and about ethics! Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
  21. Hi Ben Thank you for your response - it looks like you are not quite sure how to handle either! I understand you in that way - in the self-alerting-box - I need to state the partnership-agreement acc. to cc and not the actual holding. That's exactly what gives me moral problems - I am conveying a deliberate lie. Much easier playing face to face - then it was partners problem, and no really problem at all - and certainly no deliberate lie. In the bid I told about earlier the overcall was not alert-requering. Funny my void suit was split evenly among the 3 others. You see partner raised my bid - not knowing anything of course - opps had fit in the suit but didn't know whether they bid the suit or cue of the suit. I think I got the idea for that because my standard defense really prescribes initial overcall of a real suit as exclusion bid. Playing that with a partner - the bid is alert-requering as single/void of course - no problem with that! Yours Claus - csdenmark B)
  22. Hi Luis For your information I yesterday received a mail from Longin Bartnik. I think it will be OK to copy a sentence from that: "Bez Nazwy is not precise (especiaslly if partner is passed). Balicki-Zmudzinski use 2 systems. In 1 and 2 hand - Suspensor (it is better Bez Nazwy) and in 3 and 4 hand - Delta -very precise, bat bed to 1 and 2 hand)" Here you have address for Longin's WEB-site: www.bartnik.zwm.punkt.pl/longin/ Yours Claus - csdenmark B)
  23. This topic has by a mistake been started in another thread. I think it is important and I therefore move it to here. ____________________________________________________ Psyche - how to handle I normally dont use psyches, I simply have problems to know what to do. Once I made an overcall in opps. suit with void. I dont remember the outcome any longer - but I remember we had a good time. I like to test that a bit more - please help me how to do things correct. In face to face bridge - it is completely up to partner I think - but in a system of self-alert, I need to make the right decision myself. In system "KS" - Edgar Kaplan describes disciplined psyches to be used: - 4+ cards - 3-6 HcP - No Ace or King in side suit Unless partner makes a Jump shift=GF, pass is mandatory as rebid. Playing Precision(11-15, 5cd MAJOR - normally not an alert-requering bid). a) If I alert the bid - it is no longer a psyche B) If I need to alert - what to state: Normal meaning(deliberate lie) or the real thing(then no longer a psyche) If you help me here - you will have the option of more psyche's from me in the future - how about that! Yours Claus - csdenmark :) ____________________________________________________ Below the response from Rado: Hi Claus, Your questions touch very difficult matter. In general it's not allowed to psyche with conventional bids. For example to open 1C strong(16+) with 0 or 3 or 8 points, or to open Flanerry on 3Sp3He7Di0Cl for example. For more detailed answers and rules we might ask some experienced tournament directors I think. Regards, Rado ____________________________________________________ Below my reply: Thank you Rado - as always a qualified answer! I mentioned a psyche once did well overcalling with a void - all laughing - a good joke were the comments I remember. Opps was experts - and I therefore assume - able to deal with all kind of funny stuff. I really would appreciate if some experienced tournament director, like you propose, would make a statement. Maybe Fred too - this has also something to do with how to apply to good manners here and in the same time to be able to carry out the full register of the game. Under no cirstumstances my agenda will ever be to mislead anybody or to cheat. Yes you are right Rado, playing precision, opening 1C holding a yarborough - how to handle? That will be alertable! What to alert: A) 16+,any distribution B) Yarborough - oho Yours Claus - csdenmark :) ____________________________________________________ Above texts moved from another thread. I have deleted my contributions from the other thread. Yours Claus - csdenmark :)

  25. Dear Luis You dont need to convince me. - I like everything not based on simple 5cd overcalls because: http://groups.msn.com/bridgeFILES/naturalo...lovercalls.msnw. I am a proponent of standard systems and frequent use of conventions all according to origin. If somebody is dissatified with a certain system/feauture I prefere to choose another system. It has to be publicly known and invented by others - I have no intensions trying to re-invent anything. That said - I see you don't disclose your holdings until your have a fit and a 7 card fit you will always be able to establish. OK with that - but take care. Most well-defined systems don't need an overcall to work properly - but receiving your overcall - your opponents will mostly be very lucky - especially those playing Precision(Belladonna/Garozzo), Blue Team(Garozzo/Forquet), Meckwell(Rodwell/Meckstroth) and Hamman-Soloway. Maybe others too, but those I don't know. Yours Claus - csdenmark :)
