It is correct. Empty fields in a new cc will be filled out from the previous cc. If all fields in the new cc is full - then you have no problem. If you are editing - doing nothing else - leave table and open the new cc. If you decide to switch cc during play - I think you are lost and need to wait for improvement of the cc performance will come on software aganda.

Very nice Mauro. I think I have told you of similar problems. Living in remote area in Denmark it is impossible - or pure luck - to find somebody interested in something else than just standard. They dont know what it is a standard of but they play it and call it bridge. They have fun with that - I dont have. My solution has been simply to give up live bridge. I now only play bridge on internet. Here I can find partners for interesting systems - some more interested than others of course - but for me much more interesting than playing here where I live. I would like to find danish partners. I have found a few who at least knows something of Nusine Club(Blakset/Bruun - currently the best danish pair). Else I have a few swedes and now I have learned Viking I can attract norwegians too. Nothing of that will be possible in live bridge in a danish club. I think it is a pity you waste your time with your project. I doubt it has something - but I certainly understand it is attractive to keep together with people you live with if you can find an agreement. But living in a social community also means you must apply to the standards there. You mention yourself Cinderella Team - play that. It is basic and natural. At least nobody will get anything wrong doing so and it is so simple so all can partcipate. Same with the simplified version of Wei. In that way you will be preparing the right and good menu and if somebody will be more hungry - then go for Viking. You dont need to use all the realys. Skip 1♣ - ♦ - 1♥ relay. The system has no normal asking bids. You can also skip sidestep and sixshooter relays. You will still have the fundament to build on. Such a fundament will be missing creating a private system. Meaning: Take a standard version - skip the complicated structures. Use some features with some partners - maybe more or other structures with other partners - but always in the same direction. In that way all will some day reach what they hope for. Direction is the important thing if you want to take a trip - not speed!

I completely agree with Flame. Mauro your constant asking whether this or that feature from other systems can be implemented in a club system structure. Of course they can. It will be a very confusing and complicated system to handle. Nobody will ever know what they are doing. They can use it for nothing. My advice will be: Tell them to learn Precision or try to find companions interested in what you are interested in - such kind of partnerships will have a chance to last.

What you will be able to adopt from such is most what can be and really is already written in documents. - You need to take coherent and decisive actions. - You need to stop discussions in BBO Forum about complaints over TDs. Discussions thrives by opponents else they will die.

These postings confirms to me that skill level is an obsolete feature. I think it is common knowledge that all performs better playing their preferred systems and their preferred partners. I am very sure Jeff Meckstroth has not lost anything of his famous skills just because he had played a different partner in Cavendish and did not perform well in that way. The skill level of Fred is neither affected whether he would have ragained top position of Cavendish. The skill level is an information of your general ability to handle bridge and your knowledge of systems, conventions and playing features. This is not affected whether you have a bad day or a good day. The higher skill level you put up the better you will need to live up to good standards for: - information/help to those asking you - decent behavior at a bridge table - playing correct acc. to convention card - alert correct - informing spectators of your specialities - a general contribution to create a pleasant atmosphere at your table I also wonder how somebody will be able to put up 'expert' unable to play anything but standard classic.

Ulli now I understand you in a different way. It is completely acceptable to me if a person has a BBO-nick as fx. 'Lars_dk' and then name as private. I prefer to avoid confusions and I like he repeat his name as 'Lars' but thats not the point. If BBO-nick is something like 'bridgeplayer' and name 'Private' or 'Not of your concern' - then it is not OK. I normally reject them for partnership. I inform such partners I will be ready any time as soon they have corrected their ID. Unfortunately this often causes me to refuse partners which I would like to make a partnership with as it is not that easy to find partners for systems like Meckwell, Viking etc. I normally accept the UN flag and in that period all used the spanish flag I accepted that too. yes it is Jack - but BBO is not that strict about this topic as I am. I have today helped a romanian with no english skills but able to communicate in french which language I dont understand. That person needed to be able to read and understand BBO-websites. Only way was to provide a link for machine translation of the sites into french. I have done so once before. How do we communicate as we neither understand each others primary language nor each others secondary language? We use Messenger. A HTML-platform and as I am used to this tool I produce the translation in both directions. French -> english as well as english -> french. In this way we can communicate in a basic way. It would certainly be very helpful if the BBO sites would be prepared for an enhanced quality of machine translation. Recently I did the same via italian language.

A person cannot be blamed for not applying to rules he has no intensions to apply to. Tournaments and tournaments are the same word but with many different meanings and intensions/expectations - by players and by organizers as well. In Cavendish they have a set of rules - players and TD's there must apply to those. In Bermuda Bowl they have a set of rules - players and TD's there must apply to those. In ACBL they have a set of rules - players and TD's there must apply to those. In my BBO-tournies I have a set of rules - players and I must apply to those. That is no amateurish but basic, correct and professional.

For long time I had my level as 'novice' simply to be able to reject any complaint for wrong play. Additionally I have always been fascinated of that word. As I had too many complaints - I have now permanently changed my level away from that. To me skill level is an obsolete feature - what matters are name and country. As I am very restrictive here - I assumed I was wrong in putting up a clear wrong skill level myself. As TD I think you know why some changes their level daily!

To me it looks like the focus about this topic has already helped something. At my tables the table description may also have done something good. I therefore have decided only to report persons who additionally have made rude comments. Those sucked into tourney I dont report as I think it will not be right to ask Uday handling individual cases as he is trying to find good ways to solve the general problem. No normally I just need to wait and then it recovers by itself. The sound is normal and I wonder why I can hear action to take place while I am away. This seems to indicate that this dont happens at the same time for all. Today all white screens recovered by itself. I think 5 within 15 minutes and then 2 or 3 later with long time in between.

Since last edition - not only the last update as I remember, I often get a white screen. Before that comes I cannot communicate and mouse can no longer provoke chat option or ID-info. Then the white screen comes - 15-45 seconds normally but a few times I have needed to reconnect. Else the normal mode comes back. Today I think I had this 5 times within 15 minutes. The frequency seems to have no pattern. I have asked some and they have the problem too. What is the problem? Can I do something to aleviate the problem?

Looks like we are now reaching the right arguments. Who do we want to help with translation? None of us posting here. We can handle english and most prefer to do it in that way. We are talking of those who cannot and probably never will be able to. Approx. 25% of the BBO members. Those people cannot read the help information, they cannot read the "Rules for these sites". We are not talking about the choice perfect translation versus imperfect translation. We are talking about the ability to guess the rest of a meaning from a text you can understand the language of or to guess the meaning of a text from which you understand nothing of or only the modern english words nowadays adopted of all languages like computer terms. Machine translations need to be worked over after translation. Regarding the kind of using we are talking of - such will not be possible. We therefore need instead to try to prepare texts for best possible translation avoiding known problems. Let me give an example. "Well done partner" is machine translated completely silly as "Watercontainer good partner". The reason for that is the syntax and that the word "well" have 5 meanings in english. As the machine cannot decide the interpretation the word is interpretated as susbstantive and translated as a watercontainer". Changing the sentence to "Good done partner" - the text is prepared for translation and you will have the translation you assume.
