  1. 1♥ - 3♦ - 3♥ - 4♦ - 4♥ - 5♣ - 5♥ - 6♦ - Having ♠A 1♥ - 3♦ - 3♥ - 4♦ - 4♥ - 5♣ - 5♠ - 7♦ -
  2. It does't really work, it asks specifically the trump ♦A
  3. How about using strong ♦ jump shift, cue bid ♣ and then bid 6♦ ? When you know what trumps to play your slam, why not? If THEY had not interfered after your SJS, you may bid ♦ twice, truly setting trumps and asking for cue-bid.
  4. [hv=pc=n&s=sk32h6dkq52cakq32&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1dp]133|200[/hv] ---Edited at 16:45 20/02/2014--- Choices has been added at 16:45 20/02/2014
  5. How often is there a honor in the three spades drawn from 13 spade-deck? 29% < --- wrong! Edited: 71% Therefore chance for grand is not Good w absolute minimum.
  6. And the ♣A was in west... wasn't it? Therefore jumping to 7♦ after Blackwood(?!) sounds good provided we have the ♥Q.
  7. If you were to have stopper in their suit, would you really want to be in 4NT or defend ?
  8. I agree we'd get a spade lead after 4NT. Yep, 5♠ leads us nowhere assumed that we will never get ♠A, the biddings support this assumption. I'd consider grand if I had been given one more heart carder, but still I would had started 4NT.
  9. Total CCV is around 35~37 (w'b more if p has six+ card) . So it is between 6♦ and 7♦. 36+ is ok for a grand slam. IMO 6♦=10 ; 5♠=10 ; 4NT=9 ; 5♦=7 ; 7♦=6.

  11. The golden rule for slam bidding is not to bid a poor suit with a very good hand. Playing with usual partner I will bid 2♣ over 1♥ but knowing that my partner not preferring to rebid 2♦ with ♦xxxx over 2♣, I will consider responding 2♦ over 1♥. I would ignore Spades and bid the other minor next round.
  12. The slam may go down when the combined value is exactly 32. But most of the time a slam is worthwhile.
  13. It is a certain 6♣ immediately after 1♣. Disregarding the ♥Q you have 17HCP, -1 DP and at least +3 fit points gives you 19 TP. 19 + >13 >= 32 Imagining partner hand assuming not counting ♥J for opening bid,6C is certain even through his hand is balanced. What it remain is that what kind of partner's hand worth a blast of 7♣.
  14. Ha that's the deal (similar) we had bid and made to 7♦
  15. #1 I'd also X but then bid 6♣. #2 Pass Bonus Question: #2 [4♠] Pass [Pass] 4NT(T/O) [Pass] ? #2 [4♠] Pass [Pass] X(PENL) [Pass] ?
  16. Yerp. WE haven't agreed on everything such as the bidding sequence after 1♥ 1N 2♦ 2♠* ? I think north(my pard) thought south had 4+♦ (usually) so blast to 4♦ Strange for that board Opponent were Silent!!!! Revised bidding 1♥ 1N (1N:Still Ok for this moment since we open on 11) 2♦ 2♠* (2♠: Minors, usually no fit for hearts.) 2N~ 3♦ (2N:Relay Bid) (3♦: Highly invitational raise with 4+ ♦) 3♠* 4♦ (3♠: Control, New suit means better prospect than simple game) (4♦: Deny ♣A) 4♥* 5♣* (4♥: Control, 5♣: King) 6♦ OR 5N 7♦
  17. [hv=pc=n&s=shak5432dk532ca32&n=s752hq76daqjtck54&d=s&v=n&b=15&a=1h(Precision%2011%7E15%205-card%20Major)p1n(Forcing%201NT)p2dp4d(slam)p5n(GSF)p7dppp]266|200[/hv] Match point. It's Strange that East or West didn't bid Clubs or Spades. Playing 2/1 GF, the bidding was simple, the contract is cold for 3-2 trump break, but the bidding may have overlooked things. Please comment. On top of that a player said that north should have bid 2♦ over 1♥ forcing to game as East may bid Clubs or Spades. Agree?
  18. I will forget about spades and just transfer to hearts and bid hearts, looking for the ♥A, ♥Q, and ♦A Just wondering how to tackle if both are minor suits. Would you use Minor Suit Stayman or Transfer? ♠Tx ♥- ♦AKQxx ♣KJxxxx Thx
  19. Mikeh, Generally I agree to bid 1♠ instead of passing but I am wondering what is the difference between 4 and 5 card support. I think I would just bid on with 4 card support. Thx
  20. I would had bid 4♦ over 2♥, commencing a cue-bidding sequence. If p bid 4♥ I may launch 5N. The point is that partner's 3♥ over 3♦ may suggest his feature but not necessary an Ace, maybe planning for 3NT or 4♥. In this case, 6♣ for me, Pass Partner's 6♦. The 5♦ may mean a minimum HCP hand to me, but either a extra shaped hand or very concentrated two suit hand, or else he might have bid 3N.
  21. I'd open 1♦ reversing 2♥, hope partner bid 3♦ over 2♥. Else i will re-rebid 3♦ hoping for 4♦ or re-rebid 4♥ in case of 3♥. May end up in 6♦ instead of 6♥.
  22. One thing i have to add is that with the opener's hand Question like this would had been appeared on post #1 They're red, we're white: ♠A8 ♥AKT9x ♦8x ♣9xxx 1♣-(2♠)-3♥-(4♠) 5♦-(Pa)-??? MP's
  23. Good question. I prefer 4NT to be RKCB rather than "Pick a minor.". Through "Pick a minor" has its advantage on some hands, like responder's 3-card♦ and 1~2-card♣. However playing 5-2 isn't a big disaster here so i'd stick to RKCB. RKCB players would not change to play Simple Blackwood in this situation. IF 4NT is RKCB, which i prefer to be. Two options 1. Having mutual assumption of one suit , responder bid out the number according that assumed suit , opener then continue with 5NT or bid ?♣, which would be to be corrected to ?♦ by responder. 2. Apply "six card RCKB" then opener bid ?♣, which would be to be corrected to ?♦ by responder. IF 4NT is NOT RKCB. Responder pick a minor at the level of combined strength facing minimum 1♣ 4♦.
