  1. I believe the meta agreement is if 2 suits are unknown then bidding one shows
  2. torn between 2♠, 4♣, & 5♣. probably choose in that order as 2♠ is the most flexible call
  3. hand 1 is close but I would bid 5♥ hand 2 needs a lot from partner I would take the low road and pass
  4. Q1] No Since 3♥ is not needed as stayman it is either a transfer or slam interest of some sort. Is 2♠ forcing? Q2] I think it is best played as a Qbid in support of ♠ Q2a] Bid 3NT? Q2b] Well didn't 3♠ promise a ♥ stopper? So I would say 3NT Q3] Well you look system screwed so I would try 6♦ as a slam choice.
  5. assuming IMPs pitch a ♥, play a ♠ to A and another
  6. assuming this was a first seat 2♥ bid, my recommendation is that you give up playing games at the Bedlam Bridge Club :) . otherwise I would expect the opp to have essentially an unfinesseable suit (i.e. solid but not necessarily A high)
  7. aha the penalty for not getting new glasses
  8. I assume you are doing all this work so you can pitch 2 blocking clubs from dummy. Based on that line of play the T of clubs becomes a relevant card and unless it is singleton you need 22 clubs. So possibly a combination of plans is best. Test for singleton T of clubs; not then presume 22 clubs?
  9. I agree you cheated Death when you moved out from that active volcano in Iceland :) oh BTW I would have Xed again :)
  10. At MP I would pass and tough out 1NT at IMPS I would try for our sure 8+ card minor fit with 2♣
  11. Then use the "show interesting tables" button at bottom of the column instead of the "take me to the first available seat" button
  12. This information is already available for up to a month's worth of data. You for instance have played so far in the last month 1076 IMPs Hands for an IMPs total of 321.55 or an average of 0.30/hand. You have also played 328 MPs Hands for an average of 54.95%. In spite of privacy concerns of some I post the data openly here because if you want it you can't object to showing yours :)
  13. I thought it was for ten Greek Drachmas. :)
  14. 1] P=10; 2NT=5; 3NT=3 2] 3♠= 10; 4♠=4; X=3; P=1 3] P=10; 4♠=3; X=3 4] P=10; 1NT=0; 2♠=5 5] P=10; XX=0; 2♦=2; 2♥=2
  15. I would suggest you modify this to "does not seat you with your enemy as partner." This allows you to beat up on the "north end of a south bound mule" :) If of course you have other problems with them i.e slow play, unethicallity, etc you are screwed unless you select the "show me interesting tables" option.
  16. P1] It is not so much that they are stealing from you. You double because you need to establish a reputation of punishing attempts to steal from you in situations like this. Once you have this reputation you can pass hands like this. For all you know 1♠ was a strength psyche holding 65432 xx and out. The other part of Xing is telling partner you have xtras so with the right hand he can bid a making game. P2] Partner is still V vs NV and from his perspective 2♣X is not a game bid so I expect him to be careful. P3] completely agree P4} agree! 1NT is MP decision in an IMPS game. P5] unless you feel you need to take out some insurance on future hands :) P6] agree P7] I think X is pretty neutral a choice for the final call and is not for just this hand.
  17. Only by East if they are playing Precision :)
  18. generally I would agree with you but the endplay possibilities are great and partner should hold a 6+ card suit so I think a raise should show this hand
  19. K♠ ...because there was no major suit search in the bidding [i.e. S doesn't have one or is 4333] if he does you are probably hosed because you are looking at a 28-30 HCP 3NT. Partner probably has at most one entry and you want it to be as effective as possible when it comes so you try to place the 9♠ in a promotable position.
  20. Left Speechless is good :) :) :)
