I had no problem reading that but here it is in forum software 1. [hv=pc=n&s=sa2hat95432dkj54c&n=skq543hk6dq86ck87&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1sp2h3c3h4c4n5cd]266|200|Di d you bid 6H[/hv] My comment: 3♥ is a reasonable practical bid but the DOPI lie is unforgivable. 2. [hv=pc=n&s=sakj2hqj5dk84c654&n=sq87654h2d765caqt&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=1h1s1n(psche)d3dd(shows%202D)3h(has%204H%20and%202J%27s)p(forcing)pdp3nd(Penalty)4s(bad%20hand)ppdpprp5c(cue%3F)p5s]266|200|X- 18-19HCP[/hv] North and West are GIBs Some rediculous bids made by your GIB. comment: rediculous bids, the limitation of the first double to 18-19 is absurd but you show allow for it especially as overcaller can be weak- you have spades so they will run anyway so don't waste your time with the double. 3D 12+ is not rediculous with lots of diamonds and hearts. The cue statement is unforgivable.

Add one more club rather than a diamond then its not bad with low risk. Partner has four spades, he should bid diamonds.

"take out" double followed by bidding new suit to show strength
cloa513 replied to dartagnan9's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
I don't think he asked for a reply persay rather if GIB was updated then surely that would be reported in this forum. -
I remember this hand so its a kind of a cheat answer. Its a reasonable contract not fantastic. Count on West to have the singleton ace of spades and singleton heart (pathetic opponent bidding by the way). Ruff out the diamonds before touching spades using club ruffs as your entries.

bidding & playing commands
cloa513 replied to Y383's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Better to ask in BBO support but anyway you don't use the explain button to explain partner's bid but rather your own in open bridge tables. -
Its a little too good especially at this vunerability to open 1S. I don't why you'd say awful suit- there was much worse overcalled at the 1 level sometimes even at the 2-level. 3NT is another viable option if partner has 4 or 5 excellent clubs and not much else.
-
Indeed the bid with this hand is 3 or 4♠, those cues are for relatively balanced moderate hands 9-11 (+ for non-passed hands), only 9 when the HCP are totally outside the minors.
-
This demonstrate why you either put more details in your post or post in a specific forum like BBO Support or Offline Bridge. Is this mainly about online tournaments or offline tournaments? I'd say in almost every well-organised tournament with space and resources limits and considerable demand early entry would be the norm. Its certainly that way in metropolitian Western Australia

What to do when partner gives a wrong explanation?
cloa513 replied to Antrax's topic in Simple Rulings
Antrax bid spades (I assume this is offline bridge). Antrax- why do you alert natural bids and you have a systematic response to normal doubles- most unusual? -
there is random and then there is RANDOM
cloa513 replied to manudude03's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
Great bid for a human- terrible for a GIB since its supposed to predictable. Also terrible because it could push opponents to their making 3NT. -
Supposing you win the J♥ in hand, what does RHO play? Obviously the J can't be from 6 cards otherwise your most likely down on the lead. The odds would be to eliminate at least one club and not even consider finessing to the 9♣- someone want to confirm that. 5-1 break in hearts isn't that unlikely- if its 5-1 then chances are that you'll pick up the Q♥ and decide to finesses in hearts. This discounts the unlikely lead of Jxxx without the 10 and RHO dropping the Q to confuse things. If you pick up the Q, you certainly have to eliminate all defence's trumps.

Schools need a lot of basic bridge help Test Question: When a player plays a higher card than you? Rediculous answer: Trump
-
Why not remove it totally. There is the system card area for your system notes which you can fill in or not.
-
jump to 6♦ would be correct with [hv=pc=n&w=sh32dqjt64cak7654]133|100[/hv]
-
Surely the fault is with the GIB partner, its an easy 5D based on logic. Of course GIB is deficient in that respect so its doomed.
-
You mean none of the black suits broke 3-3, diamonds breaking 3-3 wouldn't do you any good unless opponents never lead hearts or the hearts were blocked. 4 H+1D is down.
-
Why not double or 4D with North's hand (only majors) South bid of 5C must be strength counting on North for at least AK in the majors so an easy take to 6C
-
How come no other hand had a opening hand?
-
Especially when it loves total points so much and I am sure I have seen a GIB bid 4S with a similar hand.
-
I don't think you meant to put this in GIB forum.

6223 is the worst shape so just correct back to 3S.
-
In deed why does GIB think there is any benefit to continuing past 2NT with crappy counterbalance hand- pass is only real option.
-
In deed why can't it takeout double or bid one spade on the first hand without a clear suit it doesn't have 11 total points.

[hv=pc=n&s=s6ha98643dcaqj543&w=shdc&n=sakjt5432hd654ckt&e=shdc]399|300[/hv] South opens 1♥West preempt 3♦ Your Bid as North? I contend it should be 3♠ with bad numbers of diamonds/spades in South that might be all you can make and South can still give you useful information.. How should the bidding go?
