Not much better should duck the club lead probably forced to win third round- finesse hearts and drop in it in West.

4-2 minor partscore instead of 5-3 major game

Got to love how confused yr GIB partner is. I think they forget to read robots for dummies. Keep putting in those doubles. -
Anyone able to show an example where GIB fails to bid its hand correctly using the first standard description

Not sure if this is the right forum

What was happening in those five minutes? Idle table? -
North should definitely bid 2♥ with 6 HCP and 5 hearts, South cues 3♣, North bids 4♥ not a great final place but reasonable.
-
How is revoke law clear cut? It is established late in the game at some uncertain time (some people don't even realise it occurred), the penalties vary all over the place. This law is clear cut because its at one time and while there is some variance in the penalty its not much.
-
For example..... Anyway you shouldn't confuse disclosure marks with GIB's "thinking". They often bare only a little relation.
-
Indeed opponents can ruff with every single trump or forcing a high ruff on one diamond and still cash the K♣. Not many hands are that much of a bloodbath.
-
With the former he should have bid 4H himself- a weak hand's long suit works better when denying other suits. With the latter, the bidding is correct so bid four spades.
-
Chances of partner having 4 spades are greatly increased by you having four hearts if it was 3 then it would be much closer. Gamble on the 4S spades- they could be worse.
-
I thought Yellow groups were some sort of tournament aides but now I saw a post on GIB issues forum and so they check GIB issues too and do what?
-
Let along why it doesn't ruff and return a diamond (but that come down to signals which it doesn't do or read). So so down against human lucky its played against robots.

GIB is not better than the average BBO player
cloa513 replied to Yu18772's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
West probably has hearts and little or no HCP. East has Axx AKQ AKxxx xx -
Your shape is very bad- doubletons are probably the worst to hold in such a situation given a singleton and a few spades then 5S would be reasonable. If partner was powerful enough to handle 5S direct then he would have bid 5 as an overcall- the likelihood of staying in 4S was not great. Its likely partner has a shortage in hearts and a doubleton diamond Ax so you have 3 losers. Your pass says don't bid any higher- double or pass is the choice and don't count your spades as tricks for your double. If you were short in spades, you'd double. So clearly pass.

Most people played in 3NT which has no chance once defenders judge that diamonds isn't worth continuing and switch to spades and North sensibly puts K,J,7. How could you judge to play in 4 hearts?
-
With clear cut rules like this, director will never be called as every declarer is warned of the danger of an insufficient line of play.
-
-
Of course, North's hand could be considerable worse and 3NT is reasonabele such as ♣Q98x ♦xx ♥Axx♠Axxx A suggest would be to make 2♣ rebid conventional and forcing and cover this type of hand in the patterns, a number of hands may need to be rebid 1NT instead of 2♣ with 5/4 in the minors.
-
1. A claim is the end of the game. Any other way gives UI. 2. Where a claim is stated a line of play must be stated that covers all possibilities, lines of plays involving if statements must be written so its clear unless the line of play is both insufficient and of the simplest form. 3. Where a line of play is insufficient or not stated, defenders should call the director. 4. Once agreed that the line of play is not stated or insufficient, the director must give defenders the maximum number of tricks that they can get limited by the line of play. 5. If defenders fail to call the director, declarer can get the maximum number of tricks possible. Simple and clear cut, unlike other areas of bridge which are always going to have some grey area and judgement needed.

South committed them to game with his first bid and north cooperated so South must go on but its really partnership agreement and anyway 4D splinter is silly with a 3rd/4th opening any three level nonspade suit bid surely should be a splinter- what else can it mean.

What Is Most Common Non-Natural System?
cloa513 replied to gurgistan's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
What's a non-natural system? Precision has one non-natural standard bid but so does standard american and ACOL as standard. Is 1C shown 3 clubs natural, precision probably has to have one more 1D or 2D? Fantunes bidding at the one level is most natural but the options for two and possibly higher are generally not. Mosquito and other transfer systems are less natural, EveryHandAnAdventure and forcing pass systems are much less natural. -
5H is sacrifice- partner is solid long diamonds with a spade cover and heart void and little else expect bad breaks all round. 4S could be dead -too hard to tell probably just loose 3 diamonds and their heart losers disappear on their long clubs and of course spades are finessed.

A country already divided by a UN mandated No Fly zone and effectively split into a de facto Kurdistan and northern alliance and where the central government gases villages and ignores UN security resolutions -not the rediculous UN general council resolutions is not a country in peasce.
-
So you don't count Libyans in or near their homes as under Gadaffi's rule. I guess if you are in America your president isn't Obama whether you like him or not.
-
Opponents might well have missed 4S e.g. AKQ in the opener hand don't give them another chance.
