  1. it's a partnership agreement/style issue. It's a no for me though.
  2. sign me up for a pass too
  3. Hmm a toss between 4D and 4C. It's always tough since partner's strength can be a bit wide for a balancing X and we are at a high level not able to distinguish the middle hands. Ah well, I know what kind of hands me and my partner will reopen-X on so I will go with 4C :) though i am really tempted with 4D. Good thing (?) it's NV.
  4. 1) X seems automatic to me. Though some people don't like light-takeout-doubles...AAK is always a good feature. Get in now as you might not be able to get into the auction later with safety. 2) I would pass, I've bid my hand and have nothing further (extras) to tell. 3) Either (1C)-X-(2D)-3D; (4C)-P-(P)-4H; All Pass. or (1C)-X-(2D)-4H; All Pass.
  5. My current partnership treats 4441 as balanced whenever we have a rebid problem. The hands with the singletons are usually the 1=4=4=4 and (13)45 type of hands. It can put us in a silly contract (admittedly, it has only happened to us once after 1NT-3NT and our spades were combined x-xxx) but we have agreed that it's the least of all evils lie that we prefer to tell.
  6. Strongly agree with opening my longest suit since my rebids will be easy as. As to what I would do now...really don't know. Maybe we'll be saccing so I guess I'll bid my 2nd suit now, 6S.
  7. Takeout that was unsuitable previous round. 4225 or 4234 or 4144 probably fits the picture.
  8. Do you call that "a bit"? Well, they sorta get cancelled out by ♦Qx with our main suit only headed by QJT.
  9. Tis a bit tough, but I'm opting for the low road of 5S. Not very certain RHO will always be saccing, and it just seems very likely 6C will be off. Maybe I should just take the money and x...
  10. I think I'm going to pass. We've stated our hand and only have a bit of extras in that we have a void and a 5th trump..but I'm not willing to bid 5S myself. Given that we probably have a different number of ways to raise spades, our 4S earlier would be based on shape and not that much in terms of hcp, therefore I don't think our pass of 5H would be forcing.
  11. Playing nothing fancy but 2/1, you have the auction of 1♦ - 1♠ 2♣ - 2♥* 2NT - 4♥ 2♥ = 4th suit GF What does this 4♥ tend to show? Note: 3♥ over 2♣ would be 5-5 majors invitational.
  12. I would also choose 4H. Partner would not get too overly excited as we would have other ways of getting to 4H.
  13. Agree with 2NT lebensohl and passing out 3C. Btw, you can format your hand as 8 1065 96 AQ76532 or 8 1065 96 AQ76532 and most people would understand. If lebensohl was not agreed, then I'll opt for a pass then come back with 3C if I'm able to.
  14. don't know much about rules really.. but i would've thought all x's are self-alerted so you don't need to alert them, other than maybe 1NT-(dbl) with it having a special meaning like a single/two-suiter and never heard anyone play this x as takeout in these type of preempt-(bid)-X auctions.. wait, a few english juniors did used to :D
  15. my auction would go P---P-----P--1C 1D-1S--3D--P P---X----P--3S All pass NV in imps, I'd like to fight for the partscore so I would make the reopening X of 3D. I would definitely not open 1H in 3rd seat unfav. Edit: Thinking it about a bit more, probably influenced by seeing all 4 hands, I think I'd pass 3D out. With a more shapely hand partner would probably act, and it's likely we'd hit a misfit if we x. So I'll happily take the vul undertricks
  16. fair is foul and foul is fair...can't believe I remember that lol But 4C for me. 2nd choice is 3C.
