  1. nice suit and shape. we might not be able to get into the auction later, so I bid 2H.
  2. <3 my hand - it's very powerful. Superaccept with whatever method I'm using. You save partner's trouble of whether to invite with those close unbalanced hands.
  3. I'm a passer. If partner knows I can have this hand then it's up to him to find out.
  4. yeh it exists. 1S bidder has gathered more information and has re-evaluated. And all the other info awn suggests.
  5. After that sequence, my partner and I play, 3NT = 5-5 4C/D = Low/High shortage 4H/S/NT = Slam Try/SignOff/Keycard
  6. Pass. Slam's likely to be off 2 cashing tricks.
  7. My auction would go: 1H--(2C)--2S--(3C) P--(P)--3D--(P) 3S--(P)--4D--(P) 4S-- All pass.
  8. 1) I'd probably X 2) Pass for sure
  9. Ideally you'd want a X to be responsive, but X'ing 3H looks like I have a 3H bid and passing now then X'ing 3S looks like penalties. I'd probably bid 3S now. I don't think I'd be playing 3SX
  10. 3♦, 3♥ and 3♠ are all initially investigations of the best game. 3D: Only a single diamond stop, nothing to emphasise in the majors 3H: Good hearts 3♠: Hx 3NT: To play, probably with a double diamond stop 4♣: Confirms clubs as trumps and initiates a cue-bidding sequence This is how I would also interpret it. Though with Hx of spades and a single diamond stop my style is to also bid 2S over the 4sGF. On the actual hand, we certainly have great cards for a club slam so I will slow it down with 3D to investigate further.
  11. So are we guessing now if partner has forgotten or Qx can be counted as a weak doubleton? I tend to trust partner as I don't want to try to cater for him forgetting or not. However, if he is a partner that doesn't think too deep and we do cue up the line, maybe I can re-transfer then cue 4C and the only thing he would think is that we've denied a spade control? Just a random thought...
  12. 1a) The double shows cards - mainly takeout orientated and not penalty (Like if I had a hand that only had SAQT in terms of high cards, I am passing) 1b) That's quite an awful hand indeed..I think I pass 2) I'd probably go with 2♠ but 3♠ if I'm 1st seat favourable. 7222 is an awful shape. The seat position and the colours are the most important factors for a preempt. Of course your suit quality/shape will take into account.
  13. X. The reason for RHO's 4S is to put pressure on us and giving us a guess. I am going to X - it's a decent hand but certainly not the most ideal.
