  1. Agree. We've bid our hand
  2. At white MP and 5th seat, if my 11count looks nice outside of hearts, I would X. I'm not sure if I understand the question about having an exact bid showing this exact hand or if I want to tell everybody my exact hand..
  3. On the other hand, I guess it's something that you do have to agree with your partner beforehand. Once upon a time, I was playing with a regular-ish partner but we hadn't discussed this auction before (bidding the transfer-suit). At the moment in time, I had thought it was "really obvious" to me that bidding the transferred-suit is like a michaels bid as I can wait for further actions if I had a takeout double, but my partner had inferred it as a takeout double.
  4. It's certainly not TB. I cheated, as I've already seen that episode.
  5. Noone likes to bid their majors.. Given the auction, I would not stop short of bidding game, I've got such a ginormous hand!
  6. X or 2H..think I'll lean towards X to keep my options open.
  7. I would want an extra Jack anywhere except in D's, or move a small diamond to a small spade.
  8. 2d is a normal bidding action which will occur at any level of play, but is somewhat rare tho Yes, I was moreorless (tried) referring to the 1m-1M-1NT-(2x) sort of auctions, because they passed up the 1st time at a low level but comes in at the 2lvl. And normally 1 would not have a direct 2D over 1D as a natural bid. I had a rare auction that came up a while ago now which was very similar. (1♠) - p - (1NT)* - p (2♥) - 2♠ 1NT = forcing. My partner bid the 2S, and it seemed a bit strange as he was bidding an opponent's 5card Major. I finally concluded that it was natural, though it's pretty weird but yeah it was indeed natural. This also brought about some interesting (?) auctions that was up in discussion; (1♠) - p - (2♥) - 4H vs 4S vs 4NT
  9. I haven't had much discussion about these sorts of auctions with my partner, mainly because you wouldn't expect it to come up as it usually only occurs amongst weaker players. But then when you do get these auctions, you're sometimes stumped because you don't know what your bids mean now! Funny that. My partner and I just have the general principles of lots of T/O doubles. As we would still treat it like a normal overcall, bidding a new suit is forcing.
  10. <3 5♣. I find it funny how I have to go through these trends. For instance, when you first start playing you'd think oo partner's open clubs and I have 7 of them so I will bid them! But then soon you're taught that you should X first as you can support clubs later as your major fit might be lost or you've denied them by preempting rather than X-ing (obviously this hand is of an extreme example, but when you're taught these kind of rules, you sometimes won't know what is an exception to it). But now, I'm in the preempt preempt to the max zone, I'm not too afraid of losing the heart fit as this hand looks like it's all about clubs and if it's our hand we may still uncover the heart fit if it's necessary. Or maybe I'm just weird..
  11. Is the question trying to guess what nifty meaning 2NT opening might be? :( Anyways, this looks like a wtp transfer♠-then-3NT auction to me..or am I missing something due to the 20mins sleep I had last night due to cramming? To be honest, I haven't tried stayman-ing with these kind of hands and raising 3H to 4H.
  12. I remember quite a while ago that I used to play (agreed with partner) that it was system on after a X, as in 1NT was still forcing but a 2/1 is forcing 1 round like back to standard american as XX-ing with all strong hands or somethin got the auction a bit too uncomfortable. But of course, nowadays you can take up the gadget of transfers after 1M-(X), but failing that and playing 2/1 as NF, like Han (6)7-11 is probably what I would prefer. 6 counts like those KQJxxx that you just can't really pass. 0-11 imo is too crazy
  13. I don't mind the X of 3C at all. It's matchpoints and if partner doesn't have a great lead himself we just helped him immensely.
  14. I'd want to be competing as well
  15. I guess I'm not part of the 'most' group  Really, if someone gave asked me a random month like september I wouldn't know it on top of my head lol I would need to think and revert to the knuckles..except for Jan/Feb/Dec as they are the easy ones cuz they're the exception/boundary months. Yeah, there's an interesting documentary episode on it "Discovery Channel - Everything you need to know about the brain"
  16. Blaming South for moving on. There are many ways in which N can bid between 2S and 4H. I'm not risking the 5lvl as it could be off in a few ways, like 2S+1D or there happens to be a diamond lead or something.
  17. 3S, don't want to get shut out.
  18. X would be for t/o for me, so I'll bid 2D (not that I will even consider X-ing if it were for penalties).
  19. What a torture partner bid! No agreement, then I'm going to assume it's to play.
  20. I'll pass, but bidding 5H is tempting. The diamonds look a bit of a worry, so I guess I'll get a 2nd opinion from partner again lol as I'm still kinda interested in competing.
