  1. Racist? What race is the US? Those guys can't handle soccer yet. They even had to come up with a different name for it than anyone else.
  2. Stayman and invite, except when a heart fit is uncovered in which case I'll go for the red Major game.
  3. I think this is Spain's Cup. Either that or they should consider demolishing all those stadiums and soccer fanatism. How can someone root for the US?
  4. Pass and 3♦, although the club suit in the first one is much better than some of my usual 2-level overcalls.
  5. I can't see why 3Nt gets so many votes. Pard is most likely void and we have good values for the club game. Even a slam could be possible, I voted 4♣ but I'm afraid my partner would pass, so maybe 5♣ is better.
  6. 1♦-1♠-3♠-4♠. They passed throughout the whole thing.
  7. You get to 4♠ with: ♠KJxx ♥AKxx ♦K97x ♣x ♠T9xx ♥JT ♦AQx ♣Jxxx They lead the ♣A and shift to diamonds. You played the 7 from dummy, Ten from East and Ace from you...

I think there was an excellent post on this some 2 years ago...
  9. [hv=n=sk1098haq52d8ca1092&s=sa3hk43daj9762c83]133|200|[/hv] ♠2 lead. If dummy's ♠8 wins I can work on diamonds. If I have to win in hand I'll work on clubs.
  10. My partner doubled 5♥, I'm leading that suit... I'm not Italian...
  11. I think finessing the ♠Q is better as you don't lose against Kxx in West.
  12. 50%-50%. West misbid his/her hand by not rebidding the 6-card suit earlier, and not raising 5♦ and East kinda showed a weaker hand than s/he by bidding 5♦ only (although the suit quality might be to blame...).
  13. After winning AQ (in case you can) do you give your pd a ruff and hope he has a trick or switch in desperation looking for the setting trick?
  14. Is this an opening lead question? ♦T for me, please.
  15. Someone said that you should eat to live and not live to eat (maybe eat to be able to live and not living for the sake of eating). But I think food is a very important thing in life, especially enjoying food and to enjoy food you need to cook (I enjoy home meals the most when I had a hand in making them), so I think cooking is very important. Different food cultures? Not at home, maybe when going to a special restaurant, like I did yesterday, Persian food. It's nice to try different things.
  16. I thought of doubling first. What does partner double of 4NT mean? If he has a trick in the minors we should be getting 500 and 2 tricks in the minors would be 650 in 5♠ but 800 in 5♦.
  17. Let's say I want to have a 10 to 12 tables swiss pairs event, what procedure should I follow? I read somewhere that some rounds are played without 'swissing' and then the swiss part is done according to a previous round. Is this correct? Is there a site with some info? How many boards to use, etc. Thanks in advance.
  18. Bid your minor, I think. 2NT is a contract which should not be played under many circumstances.
  19. I wasn't interested in discussing how bad or good SAYC is. I believe this is just a bridge decision: your partner has shown certain hand by bidding a final contract and you haven't shown yours completely, do you keep on bidding or leave that contract? I was looking for support for in my opinion the singleton heart was enough reason to bid 4♠. Another thing is that the 3NT bid shows 13-15 balanced, but sometimes your partner will have a 4441 or a 6-card minor with stoppers and short spades, a bit undisciplined but I think 'normal', ain't it?
  20. 5♥ might be fine but it might make partner believe we need a spade control. 4♠ or 5NT would be my choices, and I lean towards 4♠ more.
