As I thought West had 5 spades my first thought was diamonds were breaking 2-4 and that the finesse was the best play on the second trick. I hope at least I got the diamonds 10 right.

My take on the blockade? I think it's wrong to maintain a country without commerce, even counter-productive, whatever you want to achieve. If Cuba had open commerce with the world I'm sure drugs, music and 'entertainment' in general would have terminated Castro's rule long time ago. With Palestine blocked hatred is just building up and its release will take time to explode. Without the blockade I'm sure an attack from the Palestinians is soon to come and the Israelis will have to act again, etc. I think it's hard to understand but vengeance is a plate best served cold, and I'm not saying Palestinians should wait to attack the Israelis but that maybe other tactics are needed. Great nations can be built from the bones of the dead, see Japan or Germany.

I found it weird that no one mentioned the incident with the help boats seized by Israeli military forces. From 15 to 10 or 9 deaths, no official number yet. Many people captured, including a journalist from Telesur (Chavez's CNN). Isn't there a consensus on what's correct or what's wrong in this matter? Where is the line going to be drawn?

This was my private reply: 1. 5 Clubs. I was thinking 4 might be enough but there are many hands where partner would pass when game is on. X could be interesting, too. 2. 3 Diamonds. I agree with the first Pass unless we were playing negative free bids or something. I expect partner to bid 3Nt with a diamond stopper, in which case it could be our game. 3. Double. It's Mp's and I can't let a penalty in my partner's hand get burned by my 4NT or 4 Diamonds. 4. 2 Clubs. Why did I open? 5. Double. If my partner bids Diamonds or NT I'm happy. Spades is doubtful (does he have real support or just 2 cards and nothing to say?) but I guess I'd bid 3NT then. 4 Clubs is the worst, I'd have to bid 4♦.

4♥, he should move with a good club holding. I think it also sort of shows values in diamonds.
