  1. I can't believe you're over 50. Shouldn't you have thought of this some 3X years ago? Along with the non-existence of God as religion paints it¿
  2. We're running a one-session swiss pairs tourney tomorrow and I'd like to know if it is possible to present it on BBO. What would I need to do in order to do it? It's 24 boards and we'd only be presenting one table.
  3. I'd bid 5♠. I believe my honors are well placed for the offense. +650 is way better than +500.

Teams, North deals, N-S Vulnerable: North ♠T95 ♥J ♦KJ72 ♣JT932 South ♠J764 ♥AQ986 ♦Q ♣A87 Pa-(1♠)-2♥-(Pa) Pa-(X)-Pa-(Pa) XX-(Pa)-Pa-(Pa) Is that SOS redouble? Is that the right hand for it (in terms of distribution)? Is that the right hand for it (in terms of being scared and thinking 3 of a minor is better)?
  5. Would you say the ♣K is neccessary for a 4NT bid?
  6. I voted 4NT, but it might not be our hand at the 5 level. That's the reason for the double, right?
  7. I blame North. Though I don't see how to force South to answer aces I think 4NT is a quantitative bid, or might be taken that way. So either 6NT right away or ask for KC in clubs.
  8. 5 teams RR, 1st team advances directly to the final and 2nd and 3rd play for the second spot on the final.
  9. Isn't that leaping Michael's? What if that convention is not in use? Isn't it better to wait and bid 3♠ (or even 4♠ if West supports at the 3 level)?
  10. Both red, you hold: ♠Tx ♥T9x ♦97xxx ♣Kxx Pa-Pa-1♥-2♦ Pa-??? Why or why not?
  11. [hv=d=w&v=n&n=sq98652ht73d98ct7&w=sakha94dk5432c654&e=sjhqj862daqtcaj83&s=st743hk5dj76ckq92]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] After 1♦-1♥-1NT-2♣-2♥-5♥-6♥, South Led ♣Q (Rusinow), East won and played the ♥Q which South quickly covered and West won with the Ace. The 9 of ♥ was played and covered and declarer made all the tricks. 'Why did you cover with the Ten?' 'I thought you had the 8. Why did you cover with the King?' 'I expected declarer to think I had KT'. Who's right?
  12. The vulnerability was wrong. We were red and they were white. Does that change any of your answers?
  13. They're red and you're white: ♠--- ♥AT9xx ♦KQJ9xx ♣xx You're North. East opens and it goes: 2♦*-Pa-2♥-Pa 2♠-Pa-Pa-??? Is 3♠ too much? How would you rate bidding 4♥ now? Would you have entered the bidding previously? 2♦*-Pa-2♥-Pa 2♠-Pa-Pa-4♥ Pa-Pa-4♠-Pa Pa-X-Pa-Pa Pa Would you pass 4♠? Would 5♦ before/after partner's double show more ♥ than ♦? Ok, only one hand.
  14. I don't know when people are being sarcastic so... Partner had: ♠--- ♥QTxxx ♦Kxx ♣KQxxx He actually passed 4♠ as did I. In a later discussion I said I'd pass a double from partner but suggested he should probably bid 4NT (instead of doubling). Now I think 5♣ is another possibility, what would you consider best?
  15. I've read and seen that at the last round of a swiss teams event if the first team is ahead of the second one by so many VP's that it is impossible to catch up, then the first team is pitched against the last one and the second can play the third, which is a bit fairer. Or is it? The idea behind this is that the first team might play badly 'on purpose' and let the second team win by much thus taking all hope from the third placed team. This seems to be fairer for Nº 2, too as they could lose to a 'serious' Nº 1 and not have as much opportunity as Nº 3. What's correct?
  16. Teams, all red: ♠J9x ♥x ♦AQxxx ♣AJxx 1♦-Pa-1♥-3♠ Pa-4♠-X-Pa ??? 1. Do you agree with the first Pass? 2. What would you do now? 3. 4. How would your answer change in other vulnerabilities?
  17. I didn't like Black Sabbath with Dio that much, and I read somewhere that the guy didn't remember the lyrics and had to come upstage with papers to read them from. Great invention that of the 'devil's horns': \m/.
  18. Who are you? Spades were Ax-Qxx and diamonds Jxxxx-10, so you're partially right and partially wrong. But I find your insight on why wouldn't West continue clubs to try to shorten dummy interesting. I think the hand can be made if you play spade to the K and another spade.

[hv=w=saqjxxhdkqxxxxcax&e=sxxhkxxxda9xxcjxx]266|100|[/hv] South deals, all white, imp's, bidding goes: (1♥) 2♥ (3♥) Pa (Pa) X (Pa) 4♣ (Pa) 4♦ (Pa) (Pa) (Pa)
  20. I guess that when sportsmen sign contracts they state some stuff about the conditions what is expecdted from them and what would happen if they don't fulfill those expectations. Can you link me or point me in a direction to find such an example of contract? Any other type of contract where some rules are given and penalties for not complying would also help me.
  21. I guess I meant 'How can someone not from the US root for the US?'. But this is an American board, so I'm the odd one out. Thanks for reminding me that my country is not even playing. That's why they say in Venezuela that people with hay rears should not go near a fire.
  22. Yeah, 15-17. What would you lead against 4♥?
  23. All red, you deal and hold: ♠AQ9x ♥Qxx ♦AQx ♣Jxx It goes: 1NT-Pa-2♥-4♥ ???
