I have prepared a Full disclosure convention card for Burgay 1NT responses system. This is available in http://bridge.downagain.be/FD Public bidding systems. Basis: http://www.geocities.com/daniel_neill_2000...urgayDano1N.txt

Open the file. Click on settings, editor Click on "Define". Dialog box opens, you will find "Name". Type in this block which is the system Name. Then you find "summary". Type in this block ".…..........." which is the brief description of the system summary. Here I suggest to say Last update: date and change the date every time you change something. That way You will have latest copy for editing.

Suggestion: Pre-dealt hand. Software should also specify preassigned bidding auction. Complete bidding auction should be displayed. Any system can be used and meanings and alerts also to be displayed. Now everyone plays the same hand and same contract. Now the best declarer and defender played teams will emerge as a winner. I think this will lure younger people who does not want to know the bidding system and just want to play hands only will find a place to play and learn. It will take less time and enjoy playing many hands. This type of tournament will be a place to improve the hand play and also a place to checking with other teams how they did it. For Newer players once the hand play technique is familiar, then, it will lure to learn the bidding section.

No entry to dummy to finesse K♥ and or use dummy AK♣ for discards. Makes only 6♠. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer...akj87654haqjdak

I am testing how the link works for the handviewer. Best hand played by my partner

Wow; works great WD. Care to discuss what happens when pard doesn't rebid 2♥? If pard responds 2♣ or 2♦ to 1NT, Jump to 5♠ asking pd for the quality of A♠ or K♠ to bid 6♠.

http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer...2899-1233457171 This link is noW working. Is it 2C opener by west, per ACBL Tournaments-GCC?[hv=d=s&v=e&s=sak8765ha6d4caqt5]133|100|Scoring: Imps[/hv]

Auction to reach 6NT. 1♠ 1NT [Forcing] 2♥ 4NT [Asking 1430 in ♥] 5♠[2keycards + Q♥] 5NT [Asks specific king] 6♠[K♠] 6NT [5tricks♠+4♥tricks+AK♦+A♣ accounted]. This is to solve the problem. I can never think of 1NT forcing.

Presently, there is a space limitation in writing in "Other" Block, Located in right bottom area of convention card. Suggest to add expansion button square Block with "..." This will be similar to right side 2S responses section. When hitting the expansion button, a blank page should pop-up. This will allow the players to write more system notes, more defense notes, carding methods, and more information that were not accommodated in the convention card. Suggest a similar approach to full disclosure " Work convention card". Blank page will help to define repetitive system notes, more defense notes, carding methods, convention methods or deviation methods and more useful information that were not accommodated in the convention card. Blank page can be called as "System Notes".

I have prepared Full disclosure convention card based on the notes provided from the website below. Washington Standard - 2 over 1 FD card is available here. Go to Washington standard line to find FD card. FD card. Since there is no strong NT defense mentioned in the notes, I have added Cappelletti convention from Manage conventions, which can removed easily. Then, any other convention can be added to suit your need. Comments welcome. Thanks.

This statement is incorrect. In the define section, You can write system name and brief explanation of the system approach and lot more pre-alert type of information. It is possible to use old style convention card as a memory aid also. Just open and look at it. If needed, add/change it during the play. This is time consuming. Working with the keyboard, everyone is not efficient. Disturbs the bidding thought process. Preplanned FD statement is time efficient. I dislike spending time on writing the same explanation over and over to the same bids. On top of that, I make spelling errors, I need to proof read before I click ok in the alert box explanation. While writing the alert meaning in the alert box, if opponents clicks again, it wipes out all the write up and NO information available comes up. This is waste of time. Opponents gets frustrated, if delayed in the explanation. My main problem is where do I spend my time, in explanation in alert box or bidding thought process.

This is not (broadly) my experience, and on the whole I agree with awm. It is of course a matter of degree. My experience is that of those who attempt to complete an old-style CC they do not tend to fill it up with outright falsehoods, which FD is prone to display, not through any culpable act by the perpetrator, but through flaws in the particular FD script that they have struggled to complete in the face of adversity. Being just a form-filler, the old-style CC is not vulnerable to errors of that nature. Old style convention card gives lot less information or not filled out either completely. It is limited to 20 characters and second round bids only. Followup sequence bids cannot be entered. other block : ~97 characters. opening bids 3C and above, you can not give information. Takes several clicks to find the information, Takes more time. Easy to add or change the convention card agreement during the play or tournament. There is no overcall responses information. All of these problem are enhanced in FULL DISCLOSURE CONVENTION CARD. There is no error in displays. If the input of the bid is wrong meaning, it will display wrong meaning. It means correction needed. Presently, there is no easy way to check the input for each bid. You need to load in teaching table and check the meaning of the each bid in display. This is a tricky part and time consuming. I dislike old style convention card, another window pops up and takes up the space, several clicks and find no information. FD is the way to go in the future.

All of these problem exists even for old style convention card also. Misinformation and insufficient or no information is lot more in old style convention card. FD resolves some of the issue. 5 years down the line FD will be better may be.

I like full disclosure type convention card and I don't like old style convention card because it conveys very little information. One of the goals of FD is to improve the overall level of bidding -- particularly among the large number of one-time partnerships -- by making uniform information available to everyone at the table. BBO could have made the definitions visible only to the opponents and the bidder, but looks like it is done to deliberately choosen to set FD up this way. We've all had the experience of reaching a disastrous contract, not because we did anything bad, but simply because we misunderstood partner. Bridge results are meant to be a reflection of skill and judgment, and not dependent on how talented a mindreader you are. If you and your partner want to practice without seeing the definitions displayed, you can easily do that. Either: * Use one of the old-style convention cards * Disable the display for your partner's bids. This can be done by clicking on the green CONV button in the bottom menu and selecting 'Options'. It gives me the opportunity to play different conventions and systems. There is not enough full disclosure type information in the old style convention card. Basically it is the same information related to the partnership agreement. Other phases of the game like declarer play defensive plays will improve. There is no guarantee that you can win every time, because of the use of FD. In all other sports, the rules and equipment are changing anyway.

According to Mike Lawrence, "CONVENTIONS" Program, Balanced hand, four or more trumps and game forcing values, No singleton or void. If singleton or void, use splinter bids. 1♠ - P- 2NT - P Opener's responses: 3♣, 3♦, 3♥ singleton 3♠ very good opening hand, 17HCP 3NT Good balanced hand, 15-16HCP. Follow up 4♣=cue-bid etc., 4♣, 4♦, 4♥ VOID ....…....... [some play here 5 card suit] 4♠ Lousy balanced opening hand.

Rename the full disclosure convention card that you prepared with latest date of revision. During the beginning of the tournament, click on CONV, clear convention card and load the new one with the latest date on it. BBO finds the latest one and uses it automatically the last one for future tournaments with the same partnership.

Can the opponents say no alert required before the start of the bidding? When the unusual system is played, is the alert mandatory to say, irrespective of what opponent say? Opponent thinks by alerting it wakes up the partner and gives unauthorized information to the partner. Opponents wants to ask the meaning of each bid at the end of the auction and not during the bidding. Is that acceptable or within the rules? 2nd question? Alerting the bid-----------When and who started this alert system? 3rd question? No alert required for cuebid. Why? Actually there is a lot meaning for the cuebids. Is it due to the difficulty in explaining the bid?

Toad Club Relay precision system * Toad Club - relay precision from Jim Griffin; FD card I Found the text version of the TOAD Club Relay precision system. I have prepared Full disclosure convention card for the above system and it is available in that link. Comments welcome for corrections. ==================================== Comments: Mini ProfilePMEmail Poster Top akhare Posted: Sep 11 2008, 05:34 PM Report PostQuote Post Joined: 4-September 05 Seems very interesting -- couple of comments: 1) The handling of 1♣ - 1♦ - 1♥ - 1♠ is among the most comprehensive I have seen, memory load notwithstanding. You might want to link your document to the discussion about this topic in the Non Natural Systems forum 2) The relays look like they are based on symmetric, but I didn't pay too much attention. However, I scanned for "reversor", "long legged" etc. and didn't see such terms. 3) Is this GCC kosher? From the website document, this is GCC legal. The FD did not include for midchart conventions as mentioned in the document. any response to 1 and 2?
