  1. With 1 more big in spade, I'll 2S
  2. 3S showing great fit, isn't it? :)
  3. 1) [hv=d=s&v=e&n=sqt8432h832dakc63&w=sk75hat754d765ca4&e=s96h9d832ckqjt872&s=sajhkqj6dqjt94c95]399|300|Scoring: IMP 1D---1H---1S---3C ?? 3S is a perfect spot. North seems won't bid anymore without encouraging. If South double, would you take it as optional?[/hv] 2) [hv=d=s&v=e&n=sqt8432h832dakc63&w=sk75hat754d765ca4&e=s96h9d832ckqjt872&s=sajhkqj6dqjt94c95]399|300|Scoring: IMP 1D---1H---1S---3C ?? 3S is a perfect spot. 4. How did pd know you got 0~1 ♦? Opps seems have a 9+ card fit, pard bid 3NT should have 3, only 1 left for me. Ok, it's true that someone always bid over/beneath to normal, i.e., 2D with 5 cards D suit only, and maybe his pard raised with 2 support (so pard would have 5 D!), or to the other end, opps could have 10 card fit but only bid 3. Whatever, it's very possible pard has a clear vision. So I assume he knows. Someone may set up trap against me, but it does not happen too often:) .
  5. 3H and pass. As pard known I had 0~1 D, 4H, 4+C, should pard had more interests playing spade game than 3NT, he probably would have bid 3S/4S.
  6. Lead ♥10 seems... oddness to me, not sure about the meaning :P BTW, 'auto' means I dont know where to start, so get to the lazy way :)
  7. ♥ 4, auto. Dont know polish thing.
  8. These hands are pickup from a friendly table. Suppose you're sitting South. Your opps are old friends and it's your first time playing with your PD. You've agreed to play 2/1 with common tools. There're 20 kibitizers around table. Here comes your hard time:)) 1) [hv=d=s&v=e&s=sajhkqj6dqjt94c95]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1D---1H---1S---3C ?? When everyone participate, what's your choice now?[/hv] 2) [hv=d=s&v=e&s=sajhkqj6dqjt94c95]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1D---1H---1S---3C ?? When everyone participate, what's your choice now?[/hv] 3) [hv=d=s&v=e&s=sajhkqj6dqjt94c95]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1D---1H---1S---3C ?? When everyone participate, what's your choice now?[/hv] I'll give full hand later. Have fun  .
  9. [hv=d=n&v=b&n=sa4ha6dqtcaq86532&w=skt82hj74d976ckt7&e=sq75h832dkj532cj4&s=sj963hkqt95da84c9]399|300|Scoring: IMP 1C---1H 3C---3NT// Openleading S2 4 Q 3, S7 6 8 A[/hv] I was too lazy giving all details, sry. There're 3 options: 1) ♣ finesse: 50%, drop ♥J is a must. 2) ♦ finesse:50%, drop ♥J is a must. 3) Play for ♣Kx: < 50%, no need drop ♥J. I played for 3) with no clear calculation. Wish many genius here can give comparison. I'm now thinking could there be a better way to combine these options? Run ♥AKQ if J dropped, play the rest ♥ to see what opps duck. [hv=d=n&v=b&n=sa4ha6dqtcaq86532&w=skt82hj74d976ckt7&e=sq75h832dkj532cj4&s=sj963hkqt95da84c9]399|300|Scoring: IMP 1C---1H 3C---3NT// Openleading S2 4 Q 3, S7 6 8 A[/hv] Then play a small ♦ toward QT, if East has ♣K, the contract fails. If HJ not dropped.... that's another story.
  10. [hv=d=s&v=n&s=sh7djt9732cqj9753]133|100|Scoring: IMP pass(1)---1NT----pass---2C pass(2)---2S---pass---4S 4NT(3).....[/hv] The 1NT opening was ridiculous so there'll be no full hand analysis. Assume it's normal, when would you take part into the dance?
  11. Suit or splinter, that is the question....
  12. 1S---1NT 3S---5H Without agreement, how would you take this? Hope pard take as agreeing spade and good side tricks. No idea on how would Mr. GIB think of it......
  13. Hey, man. Asian people hate to hear Japan using military force against some one. Actually, I wonder if there're anyone willing to see that happen. Are there?
  14. [hv=n=saxhaxdqtcaq9xxxx&s=sj9xxhkqt9xdaxxcx]133|200|South dealt 3NT. Lead Sx, took by Q, a small S forced A. Now, where's the best line?[/hv] Edit: The bidding is quite inrrelevent. Opps keep silent.
  15. the claim is good:) I like this story anyway.
  16. The little voice was so convincing. I'd not bid 4. However, is it worth to try 3NT?
  17. SRY P OK, NEXT When I did not realize my fault, and pard did not receive what he expecting, he started to say something else......
  18. Probably I shall list an option for "neither", which allows non-bergener vote:)
  19. 2D seems more nature to me. I'll be trembling of bidding 2C even it's a systematic choice. If I did, whenever we stop on 3NT, I'll have to pray for good thing happen in clubs.
  20. You've agreed 2/1 with bergen things. Pard opened 1S, turn to you. 1st hand: [hv=s=sqxxxxhxxdxxxcjxx]133|100|[/hv] 2nd hand: [hv=s=sqxxxxhxxdxxxcjxx]133|100|[/hv] Assume it's IMP games and both vulnerable.
  21. I would accept this, but only with the restriction, that your partnership agreement is, to open 5-6 always with the longest suit. If you open those hands with the shorter one, in case you are to weak to reverse, bidding the higher suit, cant be natural anymore. With kind regards Marlowe FWIW, I dont want to be tested by 4H... could be too stupid if wrong. Pass is indeed an option.:)
  22. You cant bid both hands, Mike :) South will choose his bid. You'll not test his temper by asking why bid 3NT when 4H is just fine, dont you? ;) BTW, just like Malowe pointed, 4H could not be P/C. A genious bid after 3NT could be 4S...... 42 fit coud be so cool, but so idiot on this one, lol.
  23. Those who insist bid longer suit fall into trouble in this hand: [hv=d=n&v=b&n=sqthat976dat6432c&w=sa6532h32d97ckxxx&e=s94hj854dkcaqjxxx&s=skj87hkqdqj85ct32]399|300|[/hv] 1D--1S 2D--3NT 4H??? Pard have to guess what's the meaning. Hope he will take it right. Edit: Sry, I missed a few cards. Amended.
  24. ♠QT ♥AT976 ♦AT6432 ♣void Assume Pard will respond with 1S, what's your choice? Any difference if reply is 1NT?
  25. [hv=d=w&v=b&s=sakjtxhakqjdjcqxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] I saw this hand last night, NS was playing 2/1 with common conventions. 3 ps----1S 1NT----3H 3NT----?? How do you feel so far? Would you try more? Given you bid 4NT (pushy:), respondence was 5C, now what? Both hands as follow: [hv=d=w&v=b&n=sxhxxxdq9xxxcakxx&s=sakjtxhakqjdjcqxx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1 table reached 6H. West led DA... long thinking...Cx... MK. Another table stopped on 4H, DA... long thinking...Hx...SA... ruff S, C back to hand ruff another....ruff D backto hand, draw trump...sadly 42... 4H-2. S need to drop Qxx (or finesse) against trump return....for 6H! South might have thought about it too much, lol. Simply drawing DK kills the contract immediately, but who will defence that way? I hate that 3H, but not choice. Any comments?
