In view of t/o double, I'll pass. ♠ could be 1345 and ♥5521, maybe worse. PD's strength mainly located in ♥ and ♣, otherwise he would bid differently. Guess PD was testing 52 trump.

I'm not mean to hurt those inocent people who was accused for cheating. Sorry for Olegru, this post reminded your painful memory. 1♥2♥3♥4♥ maybe normal or lucky for beginners but really rare for experienced palyers. When TD came, I only requested for an explanation, which I thought I was entitled just because of the opps's bidding beyond their posted bidding card. Form the replies, it seems I do not have such right. I cant commence TD or ethic committee to proceed with invistigation by just asking questions, i.e., the responsibility of raising evidence is on me. Ok, thanks. :) Andy is right, I shall not worry for just 1 board. But I do hope the host of the tournament or the host of the club, not any individual player, produce records of all these odd hands to find out if it repeatly happens on particular players. :D

This might be a chicken thing, but did annoy me for a long time. :D It was a local club TM tournament. I called TD for an odd 4♥. The opps' bidding went: 1♥-2♥ 3♥-4♥ My pd and I kept silent. They made 620 without any difficulty. When they put their cards back into the holder, I found out this wa a very lucky game: opps had 18 hcps all together, 9 for each. The opener was on the 2 nd seat. The shape of their hands was quite normal, something like 5422. So I called TD, to my despair he said it was normal that players drifted away form their bidding card, no restrictions on psychic bidding for this tournament, he could do nothing about it. I believe this was misbehavior of the opps, but what can I do about it? What would you do if were on BBO tournament? Many thanks.

Without pre-disccussion with PD: My bid is 2NT: showing minmum balanced hand. Qx is not perfect, but it is not totally unaccepable. Maybe PD has Axx or Kxx. I should possess favorable position right now. If he is a serious and considerable PD (so I can put blame on him ;) ), his immediate 3NT will promise ♠ stopper or enough fast winners. I can confirm with him later. If without ♠ Qx; a straight and neutral 3♣. I'd like to reserve 2♠ as ♥ fit showing, so we can try game on 3 level, rather than blind invitation. So direct 3♥ is showing slam interests. For big hands, 3♠ or 3NT -- have not or have ♠ stopper. Think these are all nature. There're many genius devices given upwards, I hope that I could memorize. Regards, Jack

I hesitated for a long time and passed..... PD hesitated a long time and dbled.... ...... we made +1400, and opps called for TD..... :P

Precision. 2♣-2♦ 11+ hcps, asking for 4 major. 2♥-? Got a headiche on 2♦ asking. There's no room for testing games as well as giving more informations: 2NT, 3♥ are invitation, non forcing; 2♠, showing 5 ♠, usually game forcing but passable; 3♣3♦, not forcing, no fitting ♣♥; any jump: could be overheated. More problems coming when the opener answer with 2♠. I agreed with my pd with the following modifications: 2♣-? 2♦: 11-13 hcps, game trying, opener reply with 4 Major, back to opener's or responcer's suit will be a stop; 2NT: forcing game asking, opener reply with 4 major (3♦ for ♥, 3♥ for ♠, 3♠ for both; relay sequence thereafter). 3♦♥♠: showing 5+cards good suit and game forcing. It seems working but consuming too much space, bringing problems on slam bidding. Any brilliant device here? Thanks for every peice of comment in advance. :P

I love canape after 1♣-1♦. Thus, 2♦ certainly showed 6+ cards of ♦ and unbalanced hand -- otherwise the opener would rebid 1NT. 1♣-1♦ 2♦- I think it's not necessary worry to much about ♣. 2NT/3NT just indicate break strength in majors. The opener wont expect 1♦ pd have all stoppers. if change ♥Q to K, I'll bid 5♦ to test my lucky. Having 3♦ and soft Q, I'll bid 3NT and trust my PD's final decision. Btw, where's the 13th card?

The score board are all black, 4/5♠-1-2, except for 1 table 4♥+1. Their unique bidding went: 1♥-1♠-2♠-pass* 4♥// The pass seems somehow strange for west had 5 cards ♠ in hand. Maybe because of observing vulnerablility and the strenght that South had shown, he did not want to encourage his pd to sacrifice. Will that be a psychic bidding if 2♠ is a forcing raise in CC?
-
You were sitting South. Your PD dealed and opened 1♥, covered by RHO's 1♠. You had :[hv=d=n&v=e&s=sxhatxxdxxxckjxxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] A voice whispering in your ear that LHO would bid ♠ and cover your any level♥ raise. The OPPS are IMP killers. Given 2/1 system you were playing, what is the best choice here? What is the strategy?
-
Is it about system or inspiration? Pass is written on the CC. Neither of these hands meet Rule of 20, which may be out of Top Player's consideration :) . You choose to open? ok, no problem, you are charged. Faithfully hoping your pd will not be upset (in long term) ;) :D :D .

If play with random PD, I will bid 4H and satisfy with a positive score. If with regular PD, I will bid double. It reserves all options: 1) PD may bid 4H, with 2 ♠ cards he knows my double was optional and we well fit in ♥. 2) PD may bid minors on 4 level (provided opps do not deepen their preemptive), as a slam try (maybe ♥ or ♦ trump) 3) PD has no slam interests but nice defence power, we will be glad to obtain +500 or +800 by beating 3♠ by 3 or 4. My ♠Ax really does not encourage for slam.
-
Psychic bidding seems un-welcomed at BBO, I was kick twice for doing that. ;)
-
So odd went the bidding. I wonder someone misclicked. ROH showed a monster hand of ♦7~8♥4. LOH would not stay put. 4♣ is a too cheap contract. I am thinking what should I do after LOH's 4♥. I would not need red card. 5♣. If pd has not problem to handle, 4♥, 4♠, 4NT.
-
PASS 1) The 2 pass players have at least 8 ♥s cards, one of them will bid it. 2) If I bid 1S/1NT/Dbl, I really dont want to hear PD's 2♥ responce, which is very likely. 3) With 17HCP, I can cut into bidding whenever I want to. To the worst, I passed and opps settled on 3/4♦, and actually we can make 2/3♠, maybe we will find out that some tables were on 4♠ and cant make it.
-
Totally Agree! :D :D :D
-
3♣ do not promise ♥, but very likely. As no discussion with PD for the situation, I would like to dbl --- an active reply to PD's inquiry, encouraging. I wont have problem with PD's decision, whether it is pass or bid. In another word, if I PASS, it will be forcing, but not encouraging to bid ♥ somewhat. If PD holds yarborough and run to his minor (why?), I will have to discuss with him after the match. :P :) <_<  :D :) B) ;) :(

Prec. 1D-1M-3D rebid. Notrump probes ?
adhoc3 replied to Chamaco's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
I bid almost the same structure with Chamaco. (Shake Hands:) To the understanding with my regular PD, since 3♦ consuming so many spaces to probe NT contract, it denies either supporting to PD's suit or stopper in other major. Thus, he must have club stopper. 1♦2♦3♦ shows much more interests in NT contract in comparing with 1♦3♦. AQx Qx KQJxxxx x 1♦2♦3♦ x xx AKQxxxx Ax 1♦3♦ -
Glad to be the 1st voted 1♦-1NT, lol. 1♦ opening maybe mindless, strength not enough for reverse(both hcp and suit quality), so I cant open 1♣. PD's 1♥ was a bad news so I decided not to mention my ♣ anymore, OOOOOPS, why dont open a longer suit if I proposed to to hide another? :) But no need worry! 1) PD 2NT invite, 3NT accept with no hesitation; 2) PD 2♣ CBS or NMF, which he is quite comfortable, easy 2♠; 3) PD 2♦ or pass, fine, wait opps' balance; 4) PD ................ Those ♣s are too ugly to mention after your 1♥, partner, that's not my fault. Queston To: 1C opener What would you bid if your pd's responce was not 1♥, but 1NT?
-
15 hcp was RHO's max, LHO didnt try to better, and PD had no stands to make a balance. I would imagine PD had 8~9 hcp and LOH had 5~6. Possible PD had long Clubs, or at least weak majors. So ♦ could be our suit, but ♦A or under leading from Axxx involve too muck risks of losing a trick. Also becuase if dummy had any major suit he could have bid 2♥♠(a stop), but he can not bid 2♦(game forcing, usually) when his only suit is ♦. ♥K is agitative, however, I guess Opps had more ♥ than us. Trump leading is often good when dealer has 2nd suit to establish. Spade x is my choice, regardless our signal 3/5.

All nice comments, but I love this the most. The more you strugle the deeper you'll be traped. Personally, I would score "PASS" the TOP, and 4NT "BOTTOM". I will follow the saying: "when you are fixed, stay fixed." Both hand in real (never important, but for curiosity only:)))) ♠x ♥AKxxxx ♦xx ♣AKxx ♠Q ♥Qx ♦QJxxx ♣QJTxx 4♠ Making 5♠ Making, Doubled Any 5 of your own down.
-
I dont worry about leading after immediately dbl, a ♠. since their bidding seems narmal, I suspected most of other guys sitting at the same seat would draw their red card. However, seems 50% would not:)) In imps games, maybe not dbl accepatble. If your PD release opps by bidding anything after dbl, I would suggest you change pD.
-
Non vs Vul when you have ♥Q ♥Qx ♦QJxxx ♣QJTxx, and the bidding goes: 1♠ 2♥(your pd) 4♠ ?? Now what's your choice? :)
