The difference between 1NT and 2NT is about dummy play, or opps' defence ability.

Here're 5 solutions (including my own) and many precious comments, from the most simple and practical towards the most complex and precise, of which Robert's is the easist to fit myself into. Thank you ♥♥♥

It's funny what really happened. PD's profile addressed nothing against 1NT. 1NT--pass--pass--2♣(me) 2♦--pass--pass--2♠ pass--3♠!!--all pass. PD had something like Ax AKJTx xxx Qxx, and the opener had 6 cards ♦. I had no idea why PD didn't move right after 1NT or 2♦, but raise ♠ to 3? -- maybe I did too much made him confused with my 'strength', sryp!. 3♠ went 1 down (should more), +1 or 2 imp. :)

I think this is the point of “all conventions off at 4th seat”. The safety of balancing with 1 suiter is somewhat promised by PD’s strength. So just bid it when having a decent suit, or just double when having some decent honors. The risk of being punished is limited. For CAPP players, it could be quite unnecessary to self-raise to 3 level to find a minor part score AT BALANCE PLACE. I wonder why so many profiles stated: “CAPP” in BBO. Isn’t DONT more appropriate against strong NT? Meckwell’s approach is DONT alike.

Must be a big fit there, when someone call 'sweet heart' to you. ;)

1♠-2♣-3♥? This won't be a problem for regular PDs. Just curious about how would this jump to be interpreted for expert players IN GENERAL (if there is a GENERAL)?

Non-Vul. vs Non-Vul. You hold: QT983 Q4 2 98765. Assume all conventions off on 4th seat. Will you take action? If change Qs to Ks: KT983 K4 2 98765, any difference?

How about 2NT? Not a given option...

Put myself into that table... hmm... Meckwell is Meckwell, I can't change that... ♣x, to take my 50%.

Here are the actual full hands: [hv=n=sakjht863da4ck842&w=sq652hxxxxdq6cjt6&e=sxxxhkxdj87caq753&s=sxxxhaqxdkt9532c9]399|300|Eest Led C5[/hv] The Avoidance play wins. Don't know if it is a % play.

A safe 4H. Too conservative? Yes, I dont like it :) Just for building up trust for the rest boards. Anyway, If pd hold a super hand, he can continue. How I wish a fitting jump 4♦ available! But not, even between regular PD!

[hv=n=sakjh10863da4ck842&s=sxxxhaqxdkt9532c9]133|200|[/hv] Smooth bidding to 3NT. North declare 3NT, East leading C5, the 4th, 9 in dummy, west 10. Plan you play :)

sounds reasonable. Actually 5D was what I indeed want, interesting. Attractive quiz!

Cant afford wrong side ♥K and a ♦ ruff at the same time. So I just pitch a ♣ on the 3rd ♦: 1) If west ruff, the ♥K has to be on east. I'll play ♥J from hand, hoping not a stiff K. Then after tried ♥ 3-3, finesse ♣K is very likely to be successful. 2) If west duck low, then I will play low ♥ from hand, hook dummy's 9*. Knowing where is the ♥K, I will try ♠3-3, if not, try catch ♣K from the opposite direction. *An extra chance here that if 9 wins, then I'll play ♠AQ and the third ♠. East has ♥KTx now, there's no use to ruff the 3rd ♠ even he can, so i just safely ruff the 4 the ♠, East can overruff as his final trick. Guessing on ♣K is out of question.

Playing with random PD in the lobby. [hv=d=w&v=n&w=saqjt9hxdjtxxckjt&e=sxha98xxda98xxcxx]266|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♠ DBL 2♦ 4♥ 5♦ pass pass DBL// While Norther doubled pd's 1♠ opening, I decided to hide my ♥ and show ♦. Seems it's too good news for PD that he run to 5♦. Somehow frustrated, I had to admit it was a good contract. The leading was a small ♥. Finally I put ♠K on the wrong side (my big fault), 5♦-1, that's not too bad score, just small negative imp. I can't complain about PD's decision (he had a hard time) not only because I messed up a makable contract but also for there could be a slam if no wastage in ♥ honor. However, it's very uncomfortable: we took -100 when we could made 500 or 800. Any comments? [hv=d=w&v=n&n=sxxhqjxdqxcaqxxxx&w=saqjt9hxdjtxxckjt&e=sxhaxxxxda98xxcxx&s=skxxxxhktxxdkxcxx]399|300|Scoring: IMP 5♦X -1 Leading ♥x 1♠-DBL-2♦-4♥ 5♦//[/hv] I don't want to comment on NS's bidding. They did what they want to.

I am lazy:), 2S, leaving the work for PD.

3D, showing exactly 4162 or 4261 shape. Guess PD has good D support and he will be very happy to know my shape. We have good chance to play 7D with pd's: Kx Axxx AKx Axx.
-
I'm thinking why PD dont bid 4♦(with control) or 4♥(with not control) if he mean forcing? He just need to clarify his intention by quite a clear bid. So it's non-forcing to me. I'm curious about if 4♣ is forcing, how would the 'soft landing' going to be?
-
North did a good job until the last pass. What is it? Being upset with pd's inaction?
-
NFB, NFB, replace the Neg.X with 2♥, the process will be just fine. I'll try 5♥ here. I cant count to 13 with pd's 6 cards ♣, yes, probably solid 7, but cant be sure. If he do not cuebid 5♠, I'll jump to 7NT. If pd bid 5♠...... K? singleton? Another headache.
-
Indeed. Is there "right and only" answer? ;) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
-
High stake. 4♠..... unsure somehow, but happy to know 80% players keep bidding, no need to worry too much. How about 5♣? I don't know how would pd take it. He might make a talent guess on my super hand, but that would be a VWDP definitely.

If Ghestem is available, 1♠-3♣ (showing ♥+♦) then 5♣ now (control, SI). I play top-down michaels.
