the hardest thing for me is to imagine beeing a scottish woman :-( compared to that the 5club bid was quite easy :-)

hi all, over the last 4 years i frequently have been playing online bridge with the father in law of mike cappelletti, mr. brian lipscomb , brian3 here. we shared not only our love for the game of bridge, after 2 years of playing we found out that we both were in baseball too. :-) i planned a journey from germany to atlanta this year and brian and i wanted to pay the travelcosts for one of my bridge/baseballkids in our club. unfortunately he had to undergo some surgery in summer so the journey had to be postponed. however since october 20th i havent heard anything from him, and i am really worried. in this situation i would appreciate if somebody could tell me something about him. i checked the acbl bulletins of most of the recent regionals/sectionals and nacb but didn`t find his name. celebrities like mike and shannon don´t give away their e-mail adresses easily ( i wouldn`t either) so i can`t contact them to ask about brian.

what versionnumber was jack? i tested 1 or 2 hands with 3.0 and 2.04 and got different actions. i would like to know some feedback about WB5 because the program in the stores very often differs a lot from the championshipsoftware, thats why i stick to jack.

at least a discussion about responsibilities has started. i think wbf still sees internet bridge as kind of a threat to its own business instead of realizing the incredible potential which lies in it. here in germany dbv is strictly anti-internet bridge claiming that members leave association towards internetsites, but if u use bbo properly with some concept for teaching and competition u will get more people playing in ur club/association than leaving. (ooops, started a new thread i guess) i move it tomorrow somewhere else... :-)))

any chance for some venice cup matches?

the cheating problem is exaggerated i think, its more the rudeness and unpoliteness problem that bugs me and therefore kibs are very important because some (unfortunately only some) players show a somehow more descent attitude when they are kibbed. do they really????
-
ok, i didnt intend starting harrassing officials. so let us all post to our national bridge associations, so that they can mention this issue in their talks with the wbf. this procedure of going the official way through all levels of official representation pleases my german brain anyway. :-)

assuming that it is not bbo who are responsible 4 the many disconnects in estoril everybody who is interested in livecoverage of wbf-events should send a mail to: president@worldbridge.org claiming that in future only associations should be allowed to host major events who can guarantee stable internetconnections @ the playingsite.

hi all, i think it would be a good idea to put all the lectures in the library. i just heard another excellent lecture of cardpotato about opening leads and it would be a pitty if this (and all the others) would be lost.

any plans to implement the 5,6,7,8,9,10 tables howellmovement? i wld appreciate that.
-
did those TD get their TD-rights removed? just 4 curiousity.....

How many tables can you comfortably direct?
chicken replied to Rain's topic in BBO Tournament Directors Forum
20 tables is ok i think, however even with 20 u might start sweating when something unexpected happens. yesterday i had 15 out of 80 players disconnected or leaving within 30sec. i am no movementspecialist but does it make sense to have 200 pairs play less than 5% of their opponents in an 8 board tourney? usually i combine bigger tourneys with more boards. i think tables/2 = rounds to play is a good ratio and keeps a minimum of comparability (does that word exist? i just made it up.) -
dito, best program around, 2nd place lightyears behind.

dito, i have been using dealmasterpro for the last 2 years and it is a really grat program for tuitional and handgenerating purposes.

Building a standard FD versions of systems
chicken replied to inquiry's topic in Full Disclosure and Dealer
i wouldnt mind putting some effort in this work, but i am a little bit afraid, that in the course of develeopment and debugguíng the software will change in that way that the produced files wouldnt be readable/accessable any more.
