i think that team matches in any form would be used even more frequently if there was an option in the help me find a game menue. in my case team matches collide with my preference (like many do) to turn off the lobbychat, so i dont get the invitations.

why not create a link to the library or elswhere (nikos`vuegraph archive is huge...) so that people will be able to chose there own matches. u c, i am still hooked on this thing........ a similar competition in my "reallife" club called "Play With The Stars" became really popular, and even little LOLs used to play only once a week, arranged additional dates to play these hands.

as far as i know this is 8 losers because u count half a loser for every queen more than aces, and half a loser for no doubleton. somewhere there is a book called: modern losing trick count, but i dont know who wrote it. (probably it is not as modern as stated :-))

publicity is a very good idea. it cant be a bad thing if i put the top ten of the monthly published list in my enemy file.

as long as u host about 2 tourneys a day i agree, but i assume a much more lower frequency of hosted tourneys by a free td. (1 per week? i host 2 tourneys in 3 weeks when i work regularly) so actually goombah will need 4 or 5 months to even realize that he is banned, because the chance of trying to join one of my tourneys again is very small.

this was a discussion a year ago, and for some reasons we all never shared our enemy files. main reason was, that the offenders would sign in under another name anyway. 2nd point was, that different TD had different reasons for adding offenders to their files. however i would be glad to share my file with all other td.

when does the new version replace 4.5.2?

Total rubbish! The anchor suit is only needed for a weak version, so the preempt suit is known (transferred). Apparently you need to read the rules, because you don't even know what kind of system YOU play. although i dont like the tone of ur reply u may be right. however when we first played a rather similar sys we were penalized by the german bridge federation. the TD told us that there must be an anchor suit for both variants. so since then we played 3club = weak diamonds or STR 2-suiter with diamonds and so on. this might be a specific german ruling, or the TD was silly. obviously the rulings seem to differ a lot.

in my opinion this is definately a brownsticker convention, good for this site and A-Level tourneys, but not allowed in 90% of the tourneys all over the world. as far as i know (and i play X-fer preempts with str 2-suiter option as well) wbf calls this a hum convention as long as no anchor suit (dont know the precise technical term in english) is announced.

so if that doesnt work, lets a.) have an hostoption to send a movie which runs through automatically to a mainclub table (that works with the springold meltzer/welland files) or b.) lets have the option to create tourneys with min number of entries = 2 allowed so i can use the upload set of PDH function for tuitional reasons. as u see i still REALLY want this virtual teammatch thing :-))))))) however i have to admit that only xx1943 and me focussed on that format, because our pupils somehow asked for it so no problem if a+b remain only suggestions. (but it would be such a great feature.......)

hi all, my pupils wanted to replay, one of the vanderbilt quarters 2weeks ago. "no problem" i said and uploaded the quarter to a teaching table and left to have a deserved coffee-break. no way.... although the file contained 16 deals, everytime the pupils were asked to hit mouse or any key to play next deal, they were told that the file was empty now and the rest of the deals would be created randomly. any chance to fix this...? if it worked i could upload the files write down the results of one table and let my pupils play a vitual teammatch with celbreties playing @the other table. that would be great. i tried cascades converter to convert the vuegraphfile into a teaching file, and i built a pure file with only the deals, but nothing worked. with 5 or 6 tables with playing children that would really be a great help.

hi all, i want to use lin-files to run our "reallife" club carddealing machine. unfortunately the machine needs *.pbn, *.bri (best), *.bre *.dup (might work with a 2nd converter) files. any ideas how to convert LIN into one of the above mentioned formats, without sysyphusing handtyping? tx.....
