In basic acol in 1962 ben cohen and rhoda barrow siad a 3nt rebid after 2d response shows 25/26 ! Since the the one club systems have defined and refined, however if p has a bust It is style to underbid these hands aat pairs, (no entries) but go for game at teams especially vul, esp if losing.

I commend Zar point hand evaluation in this situation but with or without that ltc says make a try on opening hand and at teams in all colours accept on responderr

The first thing you need to do is agree with p the difference between UNT and michaels eg strength, controls 2nt can never be natural in acol as an overcall, then you need to define your responses, weak, constructive or forcing, never play a convention unless you have defined as best you can how you will use it when, and what the responses mean. Take a random selection of hands and say what if the bidding goes like this and I/you bid this convention. My advice would be spend more time learning how to play the cards, esp in defence.BoL

My plan at thi point would be to try to get dbld in five spades so bid 4c and over opps or ps bid to bid 5s as if competing or converting or both, eg 3h 4c 4h or 5d but am bidding six spades over their six

By the time you get to dummy with club ruff you have three losers and depend on spade finesse. If qh wins you dont need spade finesse so this is extra chance so qh correct
