  1. Better finesse before then later.
  2. For a better viewing of the trump ending, perhaps, the hands of North and South must be inverted and also West and East (in first 2.1).
  3. But this line is better when opening leads are heart or clubs .
  4. But to catch Q J x x in East there is a safety play to impasse twice playing 10 to A and the 9 to K. Yet against 1 - 3 Q then will fall down.
  5. Obviously in the ending 1.4 the King of heart is in East together J.
  6. I have Chapter Four :Additional remedies...when i tried to church material about compound squeeze .. before to buy Love's text .
  7. I agree with you about best line: only let's consider that when we have two impasse "one is good , the other not " but we don't know wich is (good) then squeeze risolve.
  8. THE REVER.The rever consists of a series of two declarations which requires the respondent to rise to the level of three if it is prefered the color stated initially. Since the final commitment of the couple may be a contract of 9 tricks the statement after a response at the level of one, requires 19-20 points [stayman]: 47) s 7 h A K 10 2 d AJ 10 5 4 c AQ 2 The declaration: 1d (p) 1s (p) 2 h. Note that the first color is longer than the second. "This will occur whenever the statement in rever covers two contiguous colors" (..Stayman systeme .. pagg . 74 and 75 [by Google Translate from italian edition ]).
  9. On a color change to jump (forced to run) the statement at the same level by the opener of a second color of rank greater than the first (statement backhand) shows the distribution of the hand without necessarily show that the opening is 'strong (Jose' Le Dentu in Bridge a 'la une). In the statement indicated in my previous post is in fact indicated a weak hand bicolor. The false lapels occasional situation arises when a declarative obligation to bid at level 2.
  10. The hands indicate are right bidding ( because equivalently in force) in Stayman system : for a minimum hand (1c (p) 1 h (p) 1s is sufficient to describe the force (called also occasionally reverse ) whilest the hands 16 -18 are stricty ruled in the system (no major 5th)
  11. P.14. Michaels cue-bid (Mike Michaels) At the opening of 1 c or 1 d the overstatement of the opponent's suit, two-tone indicates a hand of 9 + cards in the colors of noble strength and 6-11 H. The partner says to the minimum level color he prefers .On opening played in 1 s or 1 h, the overstatement of the opponent's suit shows a hand in the other two-tone color and higher in a lower color strength H 6-11 (9-11 H if the partner forces to intervene at the level of three) . The companion replied: - 2 SA without three cards to color greater implication, in which case the first defender declares its color to rank statement; - The color noble implied with three or more cards in the suit. The only answer 'forcing' is a second cue-bid of the respondent in the opponent's suit. The agreement can also be used with ambiguous meaning, in the sense that the overstatement of the color of opening can also be carried out with a mighty hand: in this case and followed by a statement on the jump. The usefulness of the Convention is 'very doubtful: in addition to preclude the use of the overstatement of the color of opening opponent in the traditional sense, is rarely applicable and rather risky. (Nino Ghelli "The conventions in the bridge," p. 177 and 178)
  12. I asked about this point in BBO archive but actually i'm waiting for a reponse : however i play Stayman that reverse on level 2 or 3 (without jumping) with 19/20 and 17/18 then with an hand on level 14/16 points to show a minim needs to repet the suit or bid NT at level otherwise we show a different force.
  13. On referring your post 1 about point reverse in three cards the hand Axx x AKx AKJxxx has 4 losers and half and it is on limit of 2 clubs declaration considering also the plastic valutation of the hands (+/- 1 point , +/- 1 card) so it is better to open 2 clubs (see Counting Quick Tricks or Difensive Tricks my post in italian language).
  14. It's the first time i see jumping on this type of declaration (0/1 loser in the color of the opp overcall demonstrating strong hand). It seems to me there is possible a parallelism with Reese convention standing a color half-compact like diamond. I'm glad to see you again, bye.
  15. I Iremember that one of my first hands was like this one - a barrage with spade- i played in a local tournament and opened with ..1 spade (my intention was to listen ..in according to spade is considered little barrage) Opp said anything in level then i declared 4 spade (realized).
  16. The RKCB was maked to avoid to declare slams without A and/or King in trump suit. The conventional developing is how in Blackwood with more the information in trump suit. Then when information about keycards is reached (4NT ?) is not necessary (also don't complicate fourthemore) to continue in position of Queen or King like Asking bid (by E. Culbertson ) but more simply enough quantitative reponses.
  17. Just a while..! I think it is better to follow how sayed in Convention (see "Double squeeze [guys] ) RKCB King asking variant Jeff Rubens is like roll Blackwood , otherwise 6c 0 or 3 Kings aside , 6d 1 King aside , 6h 2 Kings aside (out trump). When heart is trump no problem but with diamond we can use 6c for 1 or 3, 6d 2 Kings and jumping to 7 with 3 Kings when partner bid 6d .
  18. Then with trump heart, Kings in diamond and spade, is the answere to 5NT 6 d denoting King of diamond or two Kings not determinate ?
  19. In response to Mbodell :(A few other..2.Keycards.. If not jumping to 7..) When you have two Kings one in clubs do the answere to 5NT always 6c ?
  20. May we know the four deals and the story about this one ? Thanks .
  21. I have my channel on YouTube with my real name (Carlo Ingravallo) i invite you to look If you want to hear a musical selection that i define how "armonic rock or refined melodic". Have a good listening, bye.
  22. (If you want to keep simple ...last named suit)This a point of aptention because RKCB serves for top honors in trump suit (Ace or/and King) in this case you lost the statement expecially when you have to manage with an ambigue answer (an Ace on two disponibile suits) anything else you know about Ace or King 'cause you are interested for the other suit.
  23. Let's hope as soon as possible have him good health. Many wishes and bye form me.
  24. In order to reach a slam in a trump sui,the couple must have a good method to determine the extent to which it exercises control in all suits. There are two techniques generally adopted for this purpose. The first method 'called "direct or conventional, the second" indirect or cue-bidding. "The indirect method employs statements that show the controls of the hand are able to make the first or second round in a suit . Ordinarily, the cue- bid 'started after agreement was reached on the suit in which the contract will be played. (..) The first cue-bid has several functions: 1) states that the registrant has an ace or a chicane in the suit bid, 2) says that manche is sure and that it is worth probing for the slam, 3) urges the partners to continue further with the cue-bids, even if he wishes to show slam interest, or return immediately if not agreed in suit for it has no optimism. Conventional method 'used only when the conduct of the slam depends on the number of Aces and Kings owned by the couple.
