This knowledge can occur immediately prior to the declaration or, later, during the bidding process. When the slam will only depend on the strength, a simple arithmetic calculation, made at the beginning of the auction, it will be enough to determine whether it is appropriate or not the search for a slam. On the other hand if you slam depends, as well as distributional factors, including the high cards, the awareness of the possibility of slam can come out ahead in the second or third round of bidding. To this point, for the first time, the prospects for slam proved by the discovery of some distributional factor, which had been hitherto unknown (pag. 297).

ASSESSMENT OF THE POSSIBILITY 'OF SLAM. Before a slam can be declared, there must be a decision by the couple to move beyond the heats. There are countless ways in which it can 'derive a slam, but the main lure is madre from awareness, at some point in the auction, which It has been proved sufficient force to put the couple in the slam or close to it. As the auction unfolds, there will be a phase in which one of the players can determine: 1) that a slam is impossible; 2) that a slam is improbable 3) that a slam is probable; 4) that a slam is absoluty certain.(.. Stayman sistema.. pagg. 296 and 297).

Your hand is about limit 2 clubs declaration:i suggest you to read "The complete Stayman systeme of conctract bidding" and learn his method of valutation of the hand; see also sites of A. Agumperez about research of slam (very interesting and reading more time).(Lovera)

It is necessary to find deals : such as West 4-6-0-3, East 5-4-1(King singleton )-3, South 4-0-7-2
-
I think the choice is between contre or 6 diamond.

How to calculate the distributive strength of the hand?
Lovera replied to gergana85's topic in Expert-Class Bridge
In fact i have tried to clarify better and in more simple explanation what have you said. Fourthemore the subseguent develop for distribution from 10-1-1-1 seems like Goren valutation for short suits: with 0 cards +3 points , with 1 card + 2 points , with 2 card +1 points extended to three short colors : with 2-2-2 until 2-0-0 -1 with 1-1-1 until 1-0-0 -2 with 0-0-0 -3.Bye . -
Double Squeeze Technique in C. Love
Lovera replied to Laocoon166's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Indipendently from the Exercise 31 let's study this position: Q 9 in North against J 10 in West in spade, K 8 and A 6 2 in North South against Q x x and J x x in West East in heart, diamond J in South against Q in East, Ace in South in club and 2 in North. When you play club Ace West pitch heart otherwise you have the extra trick, then little heart to King but when you play spade Queen East must discard heart or diamond and you 'll have the extra trick. -

Exercise 31 (pag. 67) North S Q 9 5 2 H K 8 D 10 6 C A K Q 5 3 Bidding : N E S W 1 c p 1 h p South S 10 6 H A Q 6 2 D A J 3 2 C 9 7 6 2 c p 2 d p 2 s p 2 N T p 3 N T West leads 7 spade T 1 : East King wins, T 2: s 4 returned . West's Ace wins. T 3: d 9 led. East plays Queen; Ace wins. T4-5: Clubs . Both follow . T 6: s Q led. East discard d 5. Analysis 31 : West S A J 8 7 3 H 9 7 5 D 9 8 4 C 4 2 East S K 4 H J 10 4 3 D K Q 7 5 C J 10 8 With West holding d K there world be no spade-diamond simple squeeze ,for lack of (E). But it is unthinkable that West world lead away form the King into South's bid :undoubtedly East ha that card. If so,Type B2 simile-played -as -double with threats R,d 10;L, s 9;B,h6. Just finish the Clubs .This hand (was played by Mr.John W. Norwood Jr.) illustrates the possibility menzione in paragraph 22. Due to the presence of a competent diamond threat "in each hand " (While the dual -threat , dual type possibility seems obvious enough,it hand escaped your author 's notice until was pointed out to him by Mr.Norwood in this very hand.),the squeeze may equally well be considered as Type R with threats R,s 9;L, d J;B,h 6. But also i say with threats R 9 plus Queen, B h2 L, d J squeeze card c 3 idle card h 3 ( usually this end position has squeeze card in South and idle card in North But it is the same -
Double Squeeze Technique in C. Love

I want say anything too about this argoument : the duoble squeeze is more important of the simple squeeze but the readers that study this subject stopping their knowling on first 7 schemes (5 from simple squeeze + 2 from double all schemes with thread communicant) probably ' cause them are satoured from the study about the tecnique that various author make ( orientation, Vienna coup , Vienna coup for excellance ) then when they are learned five schemes of simple squeeze return to memorize again 7 positions..But in very books ( perhaps all ) we can find this statesment. Now Love try to avoid this compatting their (entry 1,2,3 in BLUEntry such as). Also : the duoble squeeze is a base for guard squeeze, Mole squeeze, (form i call equivalent to double comprendentig direct impass ) , compound squeeze, simple as double (Romanet call this alternative).. then the followers ought to learn also the complete positions to understand better the argoument considering that this positions are the risultant of all possible variant among communications , thread, free winners. The text of Love is important also because the author was the first to study and analyze triple squeeze in form of double (the so called compuond squeeze ). -
How to calculate the distributive strength of the hand?
Lovera replied to gergana85's topic in Expert-Class Bridge
As you may see in the post indicate i don't use Courtenay losing trick count except in two cases : 2 club open bidding (see my post in Counting Quick Tricks or Difensive Tricks to know i apply) and barrage declaration (considering Ace and King only winners..). So this is my advice : See first if your deal present three colors with 2 cards or less (from 2-2-2 to 0-0-0) or we have a tricolor distribution (4-4-4-1 or 5-4-4-0). These deals are 12 and have a factor of correction of -1 so started in this case with 18 (=19-1) to betray the two longest suits ( such as 18 - 9 in 7-2-2-2 is 9 losers (= 4x2+1 losers Courtenay ). The last five deals: 10-1-1-1 already defeat (17) whilest 11, 12 and 13 are rare (from 0,0002 to 0,000000006299 per cent) so not to heavy the algoritm them are ignored . All the oterhs deals are more common and have 19 data to calcolate the losers (such as 19 - 9 in 5-4-3-1 is 10 = 3+3+3+1). This in fact is another way to determinate losers (all the deals have 0 winners if any winner is your must detray this number of winner to have laser of your hand ) .Bye . -

Double Squeeze Technique in C. Love
Lovera replied to Laocoon166's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
About the "Classification of double squeezes" the author wrote:All double squeeze belong to one or the other of two general types, called Type R and Type B. Type R: "The R threat is alone, opposite the L and B threats " Type B: "The B threat is alone, opposite the L and R threats On refering the squeeze card we have the R threat or L threat. -
Designate a card, any card that is played before groped the impasse. If the designated card will be played from the East, joined 2% probability of assigning the missing Queen in the West and vice versa. With two cards +4% and so on. (Paul Lucaks).(Lovera)

When you have a simple squeeze, except that there are two losers with no way to correct the count, (look to see if one stopper is vulnerable. Lacking that,) look to see if one threat suit is of extra length: if so, there is a good chance that the other condition for delayed duck will be satisfied.(From Love text pag.116).
-
The two-loser squeeze :delayed duck.To assist in remembering these three essential requirement for this play were coined the word CLE -companion, lead, entry.(With rare exception, the delayed-duck squeeze fails with three losers).(Lovera)

The deal is "Exercise 40" Bidding : South 1 c North 1 s South 2 NT North 6 NT West leads Diamond J. (Pagg. 77 and 78). .. Also (see the Rule ) the RFL squeeze will fail unless the L threat is "accompained by an entry in its own suit ", to serve as final squeeze card. (Pag. 69 of Love text Bridge squeeze complete .. Dover publication ). -

I similarly gszes said , valute 1 point from 5th. card and so on ( 5th: 1p., 6th: 2p., 7th: 3p., 8th: 4p. 9th. 5 p,...) then with 8 cards ,such as, 4 points. Have a good work.
