I think the idea is good but the implimantation isnt , i agree with others on this. I think there could be a change to luis system which will make it better.

My general rule is that the 3rd suit isnt natural and not showing a 3 suiter, its either semi natural, or its asks for stopper, or its a cue bid showing suppport for partner last suit, Do you have a better rule or set of rules ? Examples 1S-1NT-2C-2D-2H 1S-1NT-2H-3C-3D 1S-1NT-3C-3H-4D 1C-1D-1H-1NT-2S Im not looking for optimal answer for those 4 example, im looking for a set of rules or a logic that will help me with the next 10 sequences.

I think your last sentence says it all. You believe after partner opens one club there are many hands that belong in 3NT when responder has 9-11 hcp and D. I do not! I think there are very very few hands. If in your style you end up frequently in 3nt with that responder hand, Walsh may not be for you. For me if partner opens 1club and I have 9-11 hcp this will be a part score battle or on rare occasions partner will have a big hand and getting to 3nt is not a problem. Why? Because partner will seldom have 14-19 HCP and a balanced hand and often not a semi-balanced hand. As MikeH said it depends on your intergrated system. This is something i wanted to tell you many time,adjust, adjust yorself. Syac and 2/1 opening defined as 12+ hcp your opening is 9 or something, thats ok but you should always adjust, this mean if i say 9-11 u should read it as 11-13 or something like that. Dont lose the point because of this non sense range.

First of all im almost sure walsh is bad design system, because its just not make sense to jump over our lowest bid freqnetly, i believe this is the power of T-walsh making 1D the most common bid. But this wasnt my point as im not playing T-walsh either. I dont think when we open and response we should think in premptive waves, we are more likely to prempt our side. I still play 1NT rebid with balance hands, and dont see the prolem with it since partner with invite hand has another bid. Maybe the correct defination of 1D is : cannot have 4 card major unless has another bid, i do play 2 way chkback and think this dosnt support walsh, because when you play 2 way you have the 2D to show those hands you hide the 4 card major, but you have also the 2M and 2C directly to show major but sadly you dont need them anymore. also i dont think the problem with 5D 4M is only with playing the diamond suit on 5-4 fit, there are many 9-11 hcp hands that need to decide wather we belong in 3NT or not, and the best way to help opener know this is by showing him that we have diamonds and let him evaluate his hand accordingly.

Find a partner. No matter how much you will try you wont find 3 people who play the same 2/1 or any other system. Pick up partners isnt the way to practice systems.

Its nice to play conventions but whats the point of bidding 1M with 4M and 5♦. I dont find the point and only suffer from rebid problems with 5D4M 10-11 while i have plenty of space if i begin with 1D instad of 1M. Im thinking of chaning to bid 1M with 4-4 M diamond unless GF bid 1M with 4M 5D unless 10 hcp this mean with 10-11 and 4M i will bid 1M if i have 4 diamonds but 1D if i have 5 diamonds. The rebids will be eaiser. we play 2 way checkbacks so 1C-1D-1NT 2M will show 4-4 GF with 10-11 5D 4M we'll bid 2C and then 2M with 5D4M GF we'll bid 2D GF checkback what do you think ?

To Richard Just a quick remark on the the 4 card major opening.Consider the game as a competition between hearts and spades only. When you open 1S with 4 cards your partner with 3 and 4 card support is in better possition then the 5 card 1S opener, you get to find the winner spot of 2S , your opponents have hard time finding their heart fit and even if they do they have to go to the 4 level. When you open 1H with 4 cards you gain alot less, first of all the 2H spot isnt as good sicne your opponents can be well placed playing 2S, also 1H doesnt damamge thier ability to find their spade fit as was on the opposite direction. The heart fit makes a different when you have 9 card fit, meaning you have 5 card support to partner but then you could have bid the hearts first. (and also 5 card support is way less freqent then 3 or 4 cards) Again i didnt claim more then this.

Don't see your logic. Obvious shift principles are not incompatible with upside down signalling. If you use low=neutral, high=obvious shift, your signals will be clearer for the same reasons. When you have stuff in the suit, want to discourage a shift, you cannot always afford to play high spot cards and your signals will be clear less often than if you used upside-down. What he ment is that the post here asked about the count part of the UDCA (the C) and what you said is more about the attitude part (The A) Since i believe you should decide whenter you play upside down or std and play both attitude and count on the same way (i tried the other way and its was triable) i think your talking about attitude were still relevant.

Jean-Rene Vernes argued just the opposite: he held that distinguishing between 4 and 5 spades should be a primary objective of a bidding system. He went so far as to devise a method (La Majeure D'Abord, 1971) in which 1S showed five (or more) spades and 1C showed exactly four spades. I've been experimenting with a method that flips Vernes' meanings, so that 1C shows five spades and 1S shows four. If you are correct about the unimportance of distinguishing between four and five spades, then I have been wasting my time with that experiment. (I don't regard that as especially unlikely, given the results of other experiments I've tried.) I'd really like to hear your argument. Im sorry and also imberest to say that most of that "thory" wasnt true. Im glad you asked me, it made me sit down and write numbers, checked many of those things that i thought about before but never accuretly calculated them, and find out that i was wrong. What i can say is that obviously opening 4 or 5 card major has plus and minuses, now opening 1♥ with 4 cards has almost no pluses when you open 1H,while opening 4 cards spade has, in other words opening 4 card spades will give you over avarage results when you open 1S much more then opening 1H with 4 cards hearts. (notice that my claim is only about the times you do open 1M and not how it effect the rest of the system and when you open something else, and also only about when you get a better results then those who play 5 cards major, didnt say anything about the times you get worse results). I think playing precision makes you spoilt. :lol: You dont need gazzili with this range, its not that big range and you begin with 1D low enough. The main advantage is to the hands that were took out of the 1C not to the 1C sequences. Knowing that shape is more important then hcp in todays competitive bridge, I am sure you too hearing you open 1X LHO wjo now when do you feel better when you showed any 16-37 hcp or when you showed 4+ diamonds unbalanced with a fairly limit range (even with no limit range id prefer showing my hand shape) Yes ofcourse the 1D isnt as perfect as it used to be, but to tell you the truth when half the forum stragle to find a meaning to bids in your post from few days ago, and find it hard to give meaning because you have too many bids avaliable and only few hands types to show, it should give you the sign that you dont need such a perfect 1D.
