  2. Jim, I have used hcs software for documenting my Strong Club Systems. Not sure if you will get a response. HCS System Notebook http://hcs-usa.com/sysnotes.htm
  3. Chat Manager is available to store various pre-alerts for use at the beginning of every round. Left click with your mouse above the gray colored section at the bottom of your screen.
  4. Yes, TAB responses - Trump Asking Bid for top honors and length.
  5. Sabine Auken née Zenkel (born 4 January 1965), a German bridge player and the American professional player Ron Anderson traveled the world as a partnership during 1991–1992, based in Chicago.[5] They also wrote a book, Preempts from A to Z (1993; 2nd, 1996). Sabine and Daniela von Arnim and their partners, Pony Nehmert and Andrea Rauscheid (Reim) won the 2001 (1995 also) Venice Cup playing their version of a Strong Club with canapé. I have played Sabine's System and modified it and called it C3 - Copious Canapé Club. I played against her and Roy in the Memphis NABC in 2019 and she autographed my copy of I Love This Game. I also played against Zia in the same pair game.
  6. When I played Bridge in Milan, Italy years ago I asked for a Blue Team Club partner. There were none! I ended up playing Precision with my wife. :)
  7. Good advice from mycroft! Find 3 other players in your community and learn together so you have a source of partners. I taught SMP on BIL for a few months several years ago and we simplified the 2♣ opening to 6cds and No 4cd major. The 1♦ opening will be frequent, so practice that opening and responses and develop detailed notes. I recommend you buy Precision Today and decide which treatments fit your style and experience. You don't need all the asking bids if you are playing mostly pairs. Eventually move into Transfer Precision as that is the version most serious Strong Club players prefer with asking bids. Practice, Practice, Practice. Develop good methods for interference. I recommend transfers as Benito said Distribution is King! Good Luck. P.S. Do not play 1♣ - 1♥ = 8-11 any distribution. Remember that Distribution is King.
  8. One of my partners likes: 2♦ = 0-5 hcp & 0-1 control 2♥ = 6+ hcp & 0-1 control 2♠ = 2 controls 2NT = 3 controls (3 Kings) 3♣ = 3 controls (A+K) 3♦ = 4 controls, etc. Not enough hands yet to decide upon usefulness.
  9. In two of my partnerships / systems I play 2M = 5 or 6cds and 10-14 with no void or singleton. Partner is allowed to correct to his suit with a singleton or void in the opener's suit since opener promises 2cd or better support for all unbid suits. A 2NT response is GI or better asking for number of losers (which corrects for a 6cd suit). Have had good success playing this in pairs or KOs. Thus, a weak 2 of a major is now (sometimes) opened as a one bid or a 3-bid. :)
  10. Hmmm ... Double Jump Vulnerable? Obviously it is NOT a WJO. If you count tricks you might raise?
  11. page 7 Examples Announcements 1c. A Forcing 1C Opening showing 16+ HCP that might not contain any clubs: "Alert." Yikes, opening 1♣ artificial and 15+ hcp will not be alertable??? Does this mean that we can no longer play strong club with 15 hcp (or more)? Or, is this a mistake? Edited 7 pm 12/8/20: As noted below, just an example. 15 is still considered strong, or 14 (rule of 24), or 4-losers with 5 Controls. http://web2.acbl.org...HARTS2_2020.pdf
  12. Technically not quite a psyche, but I would bid it the same way playing a strong club system. 2 and 3 suiters are difficult to show after opening 1♣.
  13. The proper question is "Please explain the auction." From Duplicate Decisions: Explanation of opponents' calls:1. During the auction and before the final pass, any player at their own turn to call may ask for an explanation of the opponent's auction (unless required by Law to pass). Also, after a face-down opening lead, leader's partner and/or declarer may ask for and receive a review of the bidding or an explanation of the opponent's auction. Replies should be given by the partner of the player who made the call in question unless the Director instructs otherwise. If the partner does not remember the meaning of a call, they should not try to guess. "I don't remember" should prompt the Director to establish whether or not an agreement actually exists, and in that case send them away from the table and ask the bidder to explain. If the player says something like "I don't think that we ever discussed this," it seems that there is probably no agreement, and the explanation that the opponents are entitled to is: "Undiscussed."
  14. Not true. Voting is by states not total membership in the House. Trump wins if it goes to the House, 26 1/2 - 23 1/2.
  15. Ah, Nottingham Club! I played it a few years ago in Nottingham, England with a club member. Actually, Precision is similar to The Nottingham Club, published in 1954, 1959, 1969. I still use Nottingham's INFORMATIVE DOUBLE and 1NT OVERCALL FOR TAKEOUT in my defensive strategy.
  16. My Flash version loads, but Web V 5.6.6 does NOT load.
  17. Some players interested in MOSSO: https://bridgewinners.com/forums/read/intermediate-forum/any-mosso-players-present-here/?cj=997997#c997997
  18. Dan, I experience the same recurrence. Knowing some opponents, they automatically seem to ask even when I type in the explanation before bidding. :( They want to know what GI means (frequent ask). Sometimes I don't know what they want as the explanation seems more than adequate. Usually I private chat: what is your Q? Some opponents seem to ask about non-alertable bids also that are just normal bridge. Have patience my man. :)
  19. I have been using a form of Roman Jump Overcalls (RJO) for several years with several partners. 5-4 hands have significant frequency, 25%. :) Jump Overcalls show two touching suits, the suit bid 5+ and the touching higher suit 4+. If the higher touching suit is a major of Hxxxx or better, we show it first naturally. Non-touching suits are shown with a cue bid: (1♣) 2♣ = 5+♦ & 4+♠ (1♦) 2♦ = 4+♥ & 5+♣ (1♥) 2♥ = 4+♠ & 5+♦ (1♠) 2♠ = 4+♥ & 5+♣ Jump to 2NT = 5-5 and somewhat stronger than above schemes. 5440 hands are treated similarly if one of the 4-cd suits is very weak, xxxx. We don't use the schemes with 6-4 hands usually. One gives up weak jump overcalls with this approach. :(
  20. Ozcan, I have played a variety of Strong ♣ and Strong ♦ systems including various Polish ♣ versions and Poe's two systems with and without canapé. My strong preference is Transfer Strong ♣ to 4-cd Majors. I don't know of a book for this exact approach. My favorite system notes are here: https://bridgewithda...19/07/Ultra.pdf Precision Today by Berkowitz and Manley is a good resource. Barcelona Strong ♣ by Assalit & Sabate discusses theory and recommends special replies for 5-5 and 4-4-4-1 hands. More memory work is required for the following systems: Pattern Precision by Hawthorne (several books). The Toad Club inventors won ACBL Flight A pairs several times in the past: https://bridgewithda..._03-23-2011.pdf Less memory work is required for: Standard Modern Precision, Neill. Enhanced Precision, Beall. Santa Fe Precision, Dawson. The New Awakening, Gish Books on canape are scarce: Modified Italian Canape, Rexford BFUN, Cadmus Several French books in my collection. Bridge, Nouvelle Methode de Nomination Les Jeux Dicolores, "Le Canape," Albaarran, 1946Le Canape Bleu, Antonini, 2009 Distribution is KING, so do not chose a system where the first response to the forcing bid shows controls (Blue Team Club), even Garozzo says that modern bridge has obliterated that approach. PM if you want further information.
  21. ACBL awards MPs separate or in addition to BBO points. You won't see ACBL awards in your BBO point totals.
  22. Jillybean, I play something similar and alert and describe the bid before posting the bid when playing on BBO. Be aware that many responses to 1♣ may be transfers or artificial these days. Good players have filled out convention cards that post.
  23. Yes. The posting of the 2nd session results will show the 0.5 red points you won in the first session
  24. Agree. We have for years opened 2♦ with 10-15 and 6♦. Unfortunately, in ACBLand, we can't use Multi 2♦ usually.
