  1. Lol, Roland ! 1. Time to sleep. Sleep in the little death ! 2. Time to work. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy 3. Time to leave the house. 4. Time to be with a woman who wants me (unlikely). Try to find one to put in your house to solve points 3 and 4 5. Time to count the money I don't have. So it takes no time 6. Time to improve my slam bidding. I'm sure you are already pretty good ! 7. Time to drink the cokes I have won over the years. You won so many that you'll never have the time to drink all of them ! B) :D Keep up the good work ! Alain
  2. 4SA RKCB last little fear is the lack of 2 aces !
  3. [hv=w=sakxxhaxxdxxxcqxx&e=sqxxxhkqxxdxxcxxx]266|100|[/hv] 1♣-1♥ 1NT - P And loses 5♦ and at least 2 top ♣ with 2♠ on the table ! You can always find hands that fit or do not fit your system
  4. Same for me, but only Vulnerable because NV, I play weak NT so 1m-1♥-1NT is 15-17 and may have 4♠ B) Alain Well Ben and Hrothgar, the 1S bidders still haven't told us how they will avoid playing in a 3-3 C fit when partner gives preference. Perhaps opener will take a third bid on his 4333 and bid 2H to misdescribe the hand even more. So : 1♣-1♥ 1♠ - ? Pass : 3♠+ weak, unsuitable for NT 2♣ = 4 cards + 2♦ = 4th suit forcing 2♥ = 6♥ (or 5 good ones and unsuitable for NT) 2♠ = 4♠ and the rest 1NT even without ♦ stopper (we are only at the 1-level) So, WTP ???
  5. Sorry but my partner only expects 5♦ if I have 4♥ ! B) I know the clubs are good but I tend to almost (not always possible) never lie on the nbr of cards. By the way I really don't see why you should lie on that auction. If my partner has a cathedral (a big hand, as we say here), I don't want to play 6♣ in 4-3 fit ! :)
  6. Then the french team who won the 1997 bermuda bowl (vs meckwell, mind you) should be labeled as "beginners" :) 100000 persons in France and probably 5000 in Belgium are beginners because they rebid 1♠ ! I also learn something today, Roland ! LOL, LOL You are also forgeting spain again, in Spain we also play french 5 card mayor based systems, and will rebid 1♠ with any 4♠ hand. And we are very happy about it. Sorry Ron, I am not with you on this one B). I apologize, Gonzalo ! ;) Nice to see you are a beginner too ! :D :D So 100000+5000+ ? (in Spain) Alain

  8. 1NT : must have 2♠ 2♣ = 4 cards 2♥ = reverse So by elimination, even if the suit is not good : 2♦
  9. Pass Not a good suit for 2♥ and I have 4♠ so I should probably come in the bidding later  Alain
  10. I'm at work but will drink a toast to you this evening when at home ! Happy Birthday, Mauro Alain

  12. Well, I also said stronger in terms of shape, HCP have nothing to do in these hands ! By the way, the hand you give is stronger because there are only 4 losers ! :) Alain
  13. Double ! Only 3♥ but good ones and the general strength compensates the poor shape. Alain
  14. Is it possible to invoice the time passed at the vu-graph, lol
  15. Hello Roland, OK if you can stay watching for the whole or a big part of the event. It is not always possible and I like the fact that I can log in BBO and watch vu-graph when I have half an hour ! B) Alain
  16. Good hand for 2NT for me. 4NT is stronger (and has more shape) and I certainly never bid 4NT with 3 direct losers in a suit ! Alain
  17. Wow, your new avatar is great, Phil !! :) :D :D Alain
  18. I play roughly the same as you, Phil ! Alain
  19. You have : (the kind of hands Roland gets when he is playing rubber bridge :) ) [hv=d=n&s=sxxxxxxhxxdqxcxxx]133|100|[/hv] Your partner opens 1♦, RHO passes, you pass and LHO balances with 2♣. Then your partner bids 3♥, to you : 1♦-P-P-2♣ 3♥-P- ? 1) What is 3♥ for you ? 1) what do you bid at IMPS, MP ? Alain
  20. Yes, great job indeed ! Thanks a lot to Gerardo and of course to you Roland :) Alain
  21. 3♥ : nothing much to say, partner must be aware that it does not show any additional ♥ card 3♠ will show 4 cards imo and 3NT a ♣ stopper of course :)
