the tourneys in play at the top, worth the upgrade just on its own ;) I only have one snag, when I try level 5 in bridgemaster, I encounter a net vu prob and it closes down, have you set it to eject people that cant complete it in less than 50 attempts Fred? apart from that it seems like normal, "another good step forward" one thing though, if you can make the tourney tables in play appear at the top automaically, can you do a similar thing with tables that are half full and waiting for players, appear at the top, this may be quite handy as I have to select dont show full tables. to see what tables are waiting for players :)

I think finese heart best as just playing to lose first trick is not so good, incase of bad heart split

I would win the first trick and play a heart low and low from hand and finesse 9hearts (or just lose the first heart trick, and hope for a 3-3 heart break. I would leave diamonds alone as that will set up the club suit for opps

I used to play similar conventions when I was first learning bridge (about 8 weeks into the game I think) cos I had no idea how to bid properly. NOT much has changed except I dont open at 5 or 6 level so often.

I wonder if it is possible for a team of to advertise for another team of 4 in BBO, then each capitain of the team enters their team name and bingo it does it all for you.

Hi I play RKCB, 1403, (bold statement) I am quite interested to know where I can read about redwood, voidwood and anyother variants, not to play them (JUST YET) just to understand the basic concept of what they are about and the rules for using them. Anyone care to explain exclusion blackwood as well and any comments on your prefered method and reasoning behind your preference or dislike of any of these methods explain in simple terms please (if that is possible, I have no idea how advanced a topic this is), as I do struggle with some of the advanced explanations some of you are more than capable of giving, when you talk about a subject quite new to me.

May be rather than rank directors by players comments, is it possible to have different classes of TD's i.e. bronze TD = one who can sub and host them, but has little or no director qualifcations silver TD = competant gold TD ABCL sanctioned or one who directs live bridge put your own standards in here, this is just an idea and may be even TD helper, who is limited to subbing issues and behaviour issues, time control etc, but not allowed access to adjust scores or make decisions

Sherri, Fred, Uday, The time and effort you put into this site is amazing, you must really love the game, you have offered me and everyone else something totally free and given me the chance to learn this game (which I love) properly, I brought my $40 worth of BBO bucks with the intention of playing in some pay tourneys, I have probably spent $10, which is a paltry sum one I can easily afford (I am not rich by the way), I would have no issue with paying to play here, it is the best site I have used and I think I have tried them all except okbridge. I have no issue with pay tourneys, with or without prizes, I brought bridgemaster from one of your yellows, I buy books from amazon, this I think I should put right, I will use the shop from now on for what ever I want, if you dont have it, I will ask first, then try else where, I think it is the least i can do, no where else and no one else has ever offered me so much for so little asked of us in return. Perhaps the advertising is a way to generate cash, I hope it proves fruitful for you, it may be worth asking amazon for a link here for book sales as I know they pay you commision if the link is followed up (just an idea), I am sure other book cyber sellers would do the same sort of deal for you, you just need to ask them and it will save you a lot of hassle (you probably already looked into it). So all I say to the rest is why not buy the products and does the odd pay tourney hurt when a % of the cash goes to someone who has given us so much so much of their time ( time is the only thing that you cant get back once it has gone it has gone)

having been guilty of this myself, I do chat sometimes and if it is an indy you either ask or tell or get in wrong contract (which I still manage to do even after talking), what is the answer, 10 mins before you start a hand with a new p you have a system discussion (impracticle). Or we should all learn and stick to bridge base basic and bridge base advanced. whenever we play with a pick up p? Perhaps we should run tourneys Bridegbase basic or bridge base advanced only for the indies???????????

having been to thailand, I doubt that statement is correct there is a lot of money out there and anyonbe with a comp is genereally much wealthier in relation to some one out there without one, they can probably afford spellchecker and I kant
