I never noticed white screens until you changed the news box to an internet explorer type thing (if that makes any sense)
-
I tried to run it with option Y and option N, after 2-3 mins and lots of data showing on screen, my computer crashed and when it rebooted this is what I got. Your computer recovered from a serious error. this is what was shown in the dialogue box :P BCCode : c2 BCP1 : 00000007 BCP2 : 00000CD4 BCP3 : 02070008 BCP4 : 82609530 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1 I am happy to try again (I think) as it does not appear to have harmed my computer at all, just maybe I am doing something wrong. I downloaded from the link and saved it to my desk top then double clicked and it ran from there 1st time I waited 15 seconds and it defaulted to Y option 2nd time I selected option N and it did exactly (well appeared to me to be exactly) the same things, rebooted itself I am making an assumption my comp is ok, it cost me a bomb 2 years ago LOL, 512, 2.4 athlon processor, so I assume it would be ok, let me know if I should try it again, or you can use remote if you like and have a look yourself, if it helps

1 m - p - 2 m = GF 1 m - p - 3 m = 0- 7 1 C - p - 2D = limit raise 1 D - p - 3 C = limit raise this is on an uncontested auction, I just want opinions on conteseted auctions and any other toy you can use to bid minor suit games etc
-
I am very interested in minor suit fits etc, can I have some opinions on criss cross inverted minors, both uncontested and contested bidding and any other gadets I may need to learn THX some examples or links would be nice

Disclosure of frequent partnerships

I have played with some people over 100 ames and I have no agreements about a lot of things, so not to sure that is a winner, but it may help -

how do you handle freeze suits?
-
would a 5D cue be better as then your p may be able to bid 6H rather than pass? or would he bid 6!H over ur 5H anyway, or am I missing something here like a brain :))
-
or you can make every 6 level slam, not quite sure how to play the club slam, but I expect someone here can make it
-
the only thing I can think of is balanced distribution all round, or that it resembles my opps hands on to frequent an occasion

Another "what to bid"
sceptic replied to rona_'s topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
I would open 4!D my pard would know I had 8 of them and with ur spades I feel you will get a + score (no idea why I think that, would not be the first time my judgement at the tabel has been flawed) -
curious why you would want to lead A diamonds, LHO D bid is denial I assume does not promise and strength in D, so leading A diamond may win one trick but make two if RHO had K, so why lead it?
-
low to finese the Q and then back low to finese J, if they play hi cover with Q or A on first finese then cover with J if a 9 or10 is played

What I was suggesting is the ability to purchase (cheaply hahaa I will keep on at the price as important as a consumer) and download the Brozel convention (this is a convention I know nothing about, but I see quite a few BILies and people with it on their profile. something like 5 - 10 hands or whatever is needed to expalin he convention (the convention is imaterial) of example hands, I believe there is a market for this type of thing, I myself am not the best reader in the world and occasionally I read about a convention and I am totally lost as to getting my head around the concept the author is trying to make. but when I watch it begining explained with a few sample hands and have the ability to watch the cards being played all of a sudden I start to get the idea. I think it is very marketable, may be a survey is needed to assess whether anyone else thinks this is a good idea and fred can make some money and we can learn new conventions at our leisure anyway this is just my wish for the new year

Ouch, remind me not to piss Fred off

Fred, I would love to be able to download from BBO the following lessons, done in the style of the 2/1 CD mike lawrence or deal of the week format or the format you seem to do so well At I may say a very reasonable price i.e $5 for (5 -10) hands (don't faint at the price suggestion just yet) use BBO $ to pay and make them all downloadable 1/. Stayman. 2/. Blackwood 3/. michaels cue bid convention 4/. Lebensohl variants i.e. over weak two, over NT inteference, over reverses 5/. and every other convention under the sun I bet you find a lot of people will buy this as it is so cheap, pile it high sell it cheap, make big bucks LOL One issue I have spoken with friends about ( lets use mike lawrence CD as an example) learning via software can be boring and uninspiring for hours and hours, so give em what they want short 45 - 60 minute tuition, this maintains interest and will get them coming back for more.

it is a marketng ploy, no one shops in an empty store :)
-
lead the 9 and finese it against the Q if jack played cover with Q, dont try and cover the K with a jack B), I think this way makes which ever side has 4/0 dist
-
I tried a few different settings and speeds as you suggested fred, but I have it back the same as yesterday now (animate cards ticked and fast speed) and I have had one white screen today, I played 27 hands in a row and it was fine. and I believe over 3000 people on at that time at least. the white screen covered the entire chat and playing area, it did not affect the edges of BBO screen on my PC nor the tool bar at the bottom, it dissappeared straight away and did not come back fragmented following a played card or anything like that (no idea if that makes sense to you or not) also I have only ever seen it when I am sat playing at a table
-
and I have used this whilst playing and I have bid 4NT and I screwed up the continuation (thats why I dont play it any more) but as I learn I may play it again as it is cool convention I think
-
maybe 7C is a wild stab in the dark, but I am sure that there is a structure after 4NT to find right contract (I just dont know it)
-
how about 2C 2D (waiting) 2H (kokish relay to 2 spades) 2S (forced response) 4NT (28-29) 7C (to play)
-
interesting, I wonder if Fred can add a feature to make all games played optinal, i.e. all vul, no one vul, EW or NS permenantly one or the other so people can practice at the tables, still maintaining randon deals but just allowing us to set the vulnerability in the main lounge or at certain tourneys i.e. vunerable tourneys etc
