if left hand o has 3 honours you cant make any way so finese the 9 ( cover with ace if K is played) if not let it win with 10 or J and play ace when you get lead back hope Kj or K10 is doubleton

I was sat at a tbale for just under an hour and I started to get white pages that as soon as a card was played it displayed the table and the table appeared to show a bit like when u=you use paint function in microsoft revealing the table as the card slowly travelled to the centre of the table

-5200 down and 24 imps lost, can anyone beat that LOL
-
oh well, I will chalk that one up to stupidity for bidding 5 diamonds ...sigh, this game does my head in on occasions LOL

Question 2 can you guess how many we went down by? The 2 spades was alerted as strong

1 diamond opener 19 points K club is worthless and the singleton must be worth a few points, I would never bid this 2nt, when you can describe your hand with a reverse, I must have alot to learn

if you play texas transfers, NOT the south african way, but simple texas transfers 1NT - p - 4diamnod = transfer to hearts 1NT - p - 4 heart = transfer to spades If you play 4 club is transfer to hearts and 4 diamond is transfer to spades, you can then play 4heart or 4 spades is to play by responder (I would like to know what advantages or disadvantages there are to this also) my theory is if you also play 1NT - p - 4NT is quantative and 1NT - p - 5NT is quantative to grand slam. can you change the meanings 1NT - p - 4!S now becoms a RKCB ask and 1NT - p - 4NT is still Quantative or vice versa. (or am I thinking to much)

realising that 1Diam 1heart and 1spade can be passed out also, it is the minor 1 club openning I am concerned with
-
23+ or 4 losers hands I dont like to open 2club if they are 2 or 3 suits as I find it very hard to bid, hence the discussion about 1club and whether it should be forcing, so I avoid a pass out in this situation
-
thx Ron, What about if the basic responses become 1 diamond (negative) denial of continuation and 2 diamond then becomes diamond suit with interest in continuing and denying a 4 card major? other bids as normal?

I would like to see some opinions about 1 club openers. we are playing SAYC and it states that 4-4 in minors open Diamonds 3-3 in the minors open clubs 3-2 in the minors open 1 diamond my question is about 1 club opener with 4/4/3/2 I think that 1 club should be opened with 2 clubs and 1 diamond should guarentee 4 diamonds minimum. the reason behind this is that if we do NOT open 23+ hands or 4 loser with 2 or 3 suits as a 2 club bid, occasionally we have to open it as 1 club and we cant afford to pass this out, so the questions are should A/. 1 club be forcing for one round? B/. is this now short club not convienient minor? C/. is this a sound way to play? D/. benifits and concerns of this method if it is viable? please add anyother comments you feel applicable

I misssed the sky progrmmes as I dont have access to those channels, I may buy the product not sure, but it would be nice to have the option. Deal of the week why not make them into something like the bridgemaster refills, you can buy 10-20 or higher multiples and use BBO $s to purchase them, I used to look forward to the email attachment you sent out it was fun to do and helped me a lot also I wish you would tie up with amazon or someone and then you can get a cut of the books I buy

Fred thats the dogs bollox mate, fastest I have ever got in and ready. and the pay option check box is nice, gets rid of all the lingerers wait for someone to pay to play. nice one, I can't see anyone being disappointed in that log in speed

Just lately I have made several dumb bids whilst asking for a suit stop on the way to 3nt after a minor suit agreement, can anyone explain how they work properly as I appear to be totally in the dark what I am doing wrong Thanks

I found the best way to access this forum is with a short cut from the web page that stays on my desktop, use control alt to toggle between the two, and you have increased the activity in the forum so keep it up ask questions and post interesting hands:)

sigh, I will learn one day ok the missing card is in south and it is the 7!C, I also thought easts pass was strange, but I think east was cheating
