I overcall 1 heart and if I had zero points and 4 hearts, if my pard over called 1 heart I would be in with 3 hearts like a shot I think this is fun bridge but what do I know LOL

only comment so far Fred, is I think the friends, Hosts etc names are to big it does not look nice to my way of thinking and the Flag also does not downsize when you re size that area, it just cuts the picture off

Adam is right my continuations over 1H 1S are probably crap and need working on

A comment for Roland or anyone else for that matter (I am not arguing with you LOL) but, my thoughts here are as follows 1/. if I bid 1 spade, I am showing a spade suit before a heart fit and my main info I need to get across to my pard is support for his suit (support with support(something I failed a few times to do on other recent posts)) 2/. I also have in my opinion a 100% game forcing hand (and I assumed this is what 2/1 is designed to get across at the lowest level) 3/. if I had an excellent spade suit (i.e. 5 cards) then maybe there is a benefit in showing the spade suit befor e the heart fit (again support with support) 4/. we play reverse bergen so jac 2NT and 3 level bids are out of the question as is 1NT then a raise hearts at any level (because the hand is far to good for that bid) 5/. this only really leaves me with a 2 club bid as if I had single club, I would either have 4 card support or a 5 card natural suit to bid Playing within these constraints is 1 spade really an option?

BIL Member Denied Opportunity to Cont BIL Tourney
sceptic replied to khjbsc's topic in BBO Tournaments Discussion
Actually I do not think as an online TD, I am governed by any rules, the only consideration, I need make is, whether it would be against BBO's best interests and their acceptable boundaries for allowing TD's permissions and if I want to get people to play in my tourneys, what is good for them and what is good for the TD I would be quite interested to know what body governs online tourneys? (I think the answer is none) if a TD chooses to abide by ACBL or EBU etc regulations that is their choice, I know there are some people that consider if Pshyces are dissallowed it is not bridge, so therefore it can't be a valid tourny, but that is their opinion. This issue is about how the poster feels and unfortunately, I happen to think the TD in question is using best judgement by not allowing the person subbed to rejoin the tourney for reasons others here have stated BBO to me is predominately a social site and replacing a sub with the person that is diasconnected when they return is not what I would call very sociable, nor in the long run is it something that will encourage subs to come forward and help TD's out (as that is exactly what they are doing) -

sceptic replied to khjbsc's topic in BBO Tournaments Discussion
A TD can make any rules they like (well within socialy acceptable boundries), fair or unfair, if you are the TD, then what works for you is fine by me. if you dont like the rules there are plenty of other TD's running tournaments, try one of those. personally, I think you are expecting too much, get a better connection, I often wonder about disconnects when I am a TD, I do tend to think there are a lot of people out there that just quit and blame connection problems (I am not saying you are one of them) but I fully understand why TD's come and go replacing a sub is something I feel is not right, the most annoying thing is the partner that is left, qute often then has a connection problem and disappears, even if they are from another country, must be a virus about that causes the bad connection to travel across continents and effects the person sitting opposite -
Hi all I really need to learn how to defend against precision type systems any advice where to start please

I find this statement rather odd, how could anyone think that removing a murderous b*****d like saddam, who had kept a rival bunch of murderous thugs under the cosh for so long, lead anyone to think any think other than civil war/ unrest (call it what you like) would ensue I pesonally believe USA and My own misguided leaders on the global playing field, want destabalisation in the middle east....... and now that Russia and China have access to more wealth than the USA and Britain ever are likely to get, looks like we are headed for some economic payback shortly I also think 99% politicians have their heads so far up thier own or someone elses back side, they can not see it coming, or they are so feeble they wont do anything about it I hope that this does not make me appear pre judgemental, I have met a few Iraqis and Iranians and they are quite nice, the problems lie with the leaders they are mental (this includes BUSH, BLAIR and soon to be Holier than thou Mr Gordon BROWN)

I am intrigured as to how the shuffle works in my hands (what it actually does) the (I assume the old movie button) my hands at the table feature is cracking looks like a lot of people are going to enjoy that, in fact that looks to me like it has so much potential for people that take bridge hands analysis seriously, another winner from BBO

2NT is transfer to diamonds (which was agreed) 3 hearts I had no clue but they never accepted transfer, I usually play 3 clubs as a super accept, so I can only see 3 hearts as liking diamonds sorry everyone I posted opps hands hahaha (sorry Fluffy) -

ok some more thoughts from me on this hand 1/. THE double (I assumed it was a normal take out x) so I proceeded as I would normally do (trusting pards bid) 2/. surely the x asks bid your best suit (surely if I had 4 spades and 5 clubs) would I not bid 2 clubs intsead of 1 spade (even with zero points) or even just bid 1nt myself if I had a balanced hand 3/. my 2 club bid (opps had shown that 1NT in this sequence is 18-19 HCP) ?, so I did not think that under any circumstances would we be battling for game 4/. I bid 2 clubs with an absolute crap HCP hand waiting for pard to pass or take preference to 2 spades (I liked pards 2 spade bid) -
recently I have run 3 or 4 themed tourneys with set hands open to anyone and I must say, subbing was rare, in fact I was amazed how good they ran and positive feed back was great also

surely if playing live bridge and cue bids like this are non alertable, the only reason an op would complain is if they never bothered to read your cc ? also maybe the continuations may be alerteable why alert something you have already given to the opps, the opps have to take some responsibility for reading your cc, if they chose not to surely this is a FAIR advantage

House of horrors

I cant stand the 2 heart bid, I think that is a four card suit what ever way you look at it I dont like the 3 club bid either this seems to me to show distribution that is not even mildly accurate I like Norths 3 spade bid as it is only pick a preference to their known 8 card spade fit -
well if you respond like I do with one ace, rebidding 3 Diamonds may get you too high, especially if I had a 2 heart rebid over your minor response to my 1NT (semi forcing bid) hand two is exactly what I am on about, the 2 heart bid, I believe is 100% forcing you to pass as you only bid 2 diamonds in the first place, you have already decided you are not strong enough to jump to 3 diamonds to show extra strength at the table I bid 3 diamonds

ruff the Club and then playAKQD and throw clubs as soon as you play spades directly 2nd trx, they win ace and force you to use up your trumps in hand, which looks like a crap position to be in
