  3. i would just take regular finesse but it depends how bad ur opps are, i mean some players will NEVER underlead a king
  4. oh yes definitely 4 spade - we're vul at imp and even if p has a yarbrough we surely have a decent chance of making game
  5. yes its a wtp double, sometimes new players are taught that you must have 4 of the other major for a takeout double - this is just wrong, of course having 4 hearts here would be desirable but 3 is plenty for a takeout double.
  6. if you feel so strongly about this, why not lock your table and make it a condition of joining that the system is agreed before play.
  7. i agree its a choice between 2h and drury, wouldn't be surprised to learn that p was like 4522 or something and spades played better and its just resulting nonsense the comment by your partner
  8. (p) 2d (multi) (p) k876532 - a32 qj3 imps against bbo randoms love all
  9. I really dont understand 2h it seems like the underbid to beat all underbids. i would go 3d, surely if p is like 2533 or something he can just bid 3h forcing anyway...
  10. full hand [hv=300|400]http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-444124811-1458076802[/hv]
  11. [hv=pc=n&e=skt832h97654d6c43&d=n&v=b&b=13&a=1dp3ddp]133|200[/hv] 3d = preempt imps cheers Eagles
  12. yuck - i bid 6c but i have no idea if its right
  13. I would just bid 4d of course X could be right but so could 3n which would be my 2nd choice - anything other than 4d seems like a fairly wild punt to me
  14. Come on mods put a stop to this shite and ban the (not very good) troll
  15. great to see we have an expert poster here at last.
  16. sorry but this has nothing to do with style, its just bad judgement to preempt with this hand end of imo.
  17. My thoughts are send a report to abuse rather than ranting on here
  18. I don't particularly like the way east bid it but imo wests bidding shows a total lack of judgement. 3D is just a plain bad bid the hand has way too much potential for playing in spades to go in with a preempt
  19. I'd just bid 3n but who knows - interesting hand
  20. there's obviously a fine line, but sometimes when there's literally five top trumps or something in partners hand and he insists on playing it out then it can be tempting to suggest a claim. what i find more annoying is these people that never claim in defence, like with 2 tricks left you are missing the AQ of a suit in no trumps and have KJ in dummy and there are 8 cards left in the suit, you play small from hand small on the left have a think for a couple of minutes and righty with AQ doesn't claim.
  21. [hv=pc=n&s=sq652hatdat63c843&e=skjh872d4caqt9765&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=1cp4hppp]266|200[/hv] an edited hand from one that occurred earlier in the week, assumed IMPS. Partner leads the King of diamonds, what do you play at trick one and why? Not sure if this is forum appropriate but intended for N/B Thanks Eagles
  22. partner isn't very sophisticated, he knows 2nd/4th and MUD so he will lead accordingly regardless of whether its pards suit or whatever
  23. well yes thats exactly what i did do, and of course declarer finessed and then made 12 tricks when he dropped pd's doubleton queen trump https://app.pianola.net/Results/Session99026/Travellers/22 we got a 50% board but i wasn't sure if my play was correct
