  1. How would you handle this hand at matchpoints: you are playing strong no trump 5 card majors - if it matters 80% of the field are playing acol [hv=pc=n&s=sk9432h75dqt762cq&d=e&v=0&b=14&a=ppp1np2hp2sp]133|200[/hv] if you don't agree with the initial transfer say. Is pass a bit wimpy here. Thanks Eagles
  2. I've read this ten times and I'm still not sure what you're trying to say. Anyway allegations of cheating need to go to the abuse email, not on the forums
  3. splintering as opener should show the dogs - this is a nice hand but, in my opinion, not close to a 4c bid. 3s seems normal to me.
  4. lol that is hilarious. Almost as bad is why does GIB launch keycard when he cant cue either red suit?
  5. the whole thing is a bit of a joke of course, but Easts 3H bid is just classic beginner bidding.
  6. the law is ***** there's already been 600+ post discussion on bridgewinners about how ***** the law is, do we really need another point proving mission?
  7. ps i made a poll on bridge winners for whether 3s is forcing or not: http://bridgewinners.com/article/view/forcing-or-not-2-mnikbh3y2q/
  8. I have one of Marshall Miles books - I don't particularly like it, seemed a lot of "this is what you should bid" and lo and behold partner has the perfecto to match the suggested bid. I'm sure he was a great player I just wasn't a huge fan of the book of his I read.
  9. raising after 2s would be a mistake, your partner is showing a minimum hand and you have no extras.
  10. 4 spades can't possibly be right because it leaves partner no room to cue. imo it's either 3c or 3s depending on whether 3s is forcing (for me it is)
  11. if pard has a trap pass it's game over - bridge is a game of trust, if my partner passed in this position i would lose trust
  12. I'm not too fussed between opening and not opening - now i will X
  13. I think the chances of it going all pass when we've got a wildly distributional hand like this are extremely remote. I'd rather take that small risk by opening 1s than imo totally misbidding our hand by opening 2C
  14. As Diana said there was a lot of luck involved and it was quite surreal to be a part of, but hey can't argue with a 52 imp win!!
  15. it's always difficult when we can see both hands, but it does seem like an automatic pass - we have no guarantee whatsoever of a heart fit and we have AJ8 in trumps!!
  16. opening this hand seems automatic, I would just pass the double but accept it could go badly wrong.
  17. too much chance partner has a trap pass to not x imo, and even if pard bids 3d he'll usually have 5 and kq is hardly the worst holding we could have
  18. MP Akqxxx x - Kxxxxx (if the x's are wrong sorry - it's 6106) vul vs not pd 1st seat 1n (15-17) p if it makes a difference 80% of the field play acol weak nt
  19. ok, so say the non-illogical natural meaning, how do you set hearts and make a slam try?
  20. by the way OP, you said: Absolutely 100% NO - this is a bridge forum, it's designed for people of all standards, and I'm sure as much as the other suggestions made on here will improve your card play, so will participating in this forum, either posting hands you've found difficult/interesting or by reading the more expert topics.
  21. uncontested 1S 1N 3H 4m what is 4m Thanks Eagles
