  1. 1N is perfect description of the hand, partner can ask for stopper with 2♠. Even if they take the first 5 tricks we may still make.
  2. I dont understand why you wouldnt be comfortable sitting the double. Partner made a penalty double and I have an Ace when I could have nothing - will expect 500 at minimum
  3. No way I am passing with the huge double fit. Partner's doubles shows just extra values, not neccesary a desire to defend.
  4. IMHO South has a (very close) 3♠ on the first round and a pretty easy (still not automatic) balance on the second.
  5. Very close but I would X. Second choice is pass. I think 3♣ has 0 chance to win. If partner had a penalty pass against 2♠ he will bid 3N now possibly doubled. Even if we win 3N we would have gotten more against 2♠X. If partner doesnt have a penalty pass RHO is very strong and will start doubling, we are probably not going to find our best fit.
  6. 1. With a good 6 or 7 card ♠ I am always bidding 1♠ regardless of my strength. Going down in 1♥ while 4♠ is making is not my cup of tea. 2. 2♣ shows a max overcall, it often is a hand with exactly 3♠ or strong bal. 3. Yes NF can be very minimal. 4. Yes can be minimum, often a stiff ♠. 5. good 16+, often a stiff spade.
  7. I would just pass and listen to the bidding, later I will save.
  8. Pass against most, against a very solid preempter I would bid 3N.
  9. I would pass with the weak 4351, everything else is really terrible. Of course we may miss a game, but every bid is a misdicription of the hand and even if partner is very strong we may not end up in the right spot.
  10. Pass if not playing any special gadgets. If I really needed to do something I may try 1NT. With my regular partner I can bid 2♥ to show exactly 4♥ and longer ♣ (constructive)
  11. I would pull for sure. Direct 2♠ shows weakness, passing and pulling 2m to 2♠ shows a better hand.
  12. I would bid 4♠ and I dont consider any other bid
  13. 1. Pass 2. 6♥, cuebidding will not help due to the lack of space and the fact that partner will assume ♦fit rather than ♥fit. Hope the suits break badly so 7 doesnt make.
  14. I would certainly double here partner can look at his hand and decide if sacrifice is a good idea. I cant see how double is not a spade raise, its way too important to give up on these auctions.
  15. I would pass although its close. Partner is probably balanced without 4M and we dont have any fit or source of tricks. It will often not be enough to make 6N on pure power.
  16. I dont understand bidding 5♣ with this. If partner has a minimal takeout double we are headed for a big number. If he has sufficient extras he will act again and I can then bid 5♣ with a hope to make on a good day. (It could still be right to pass with this balancish hand) I would personally bid 5♣ but wouldnt critisize 6, could easily be right.
  17. I would bid 5♣. Its fav and they have the majors. Its likely they will lead a diamond which will probably help me get an extra trick.
  18. I would bid 3♦. We could easily have game and 2♠ will not get us there.
  19. Only a player who forgot to check the hand records in advance.
  20. If you are playing minisplinters you will get there after 1♣-1♥-3♦. But again if you change the North hand to xx KQ109x xxx A10x you will also bid 6 and will need a good guess in clubs. After 1♣-1♥-3♥ I dont think North is worth a cuebid (though its not far away) and I would just bid 4♥
