  1. I was having the same problem the other day, I could see my partners alert. Both in some team match and a simple table at the main bridge club (no robots). I could attach a screenshot to my post, but couldnt figure out how.
  2. 5N for me with double being close second.
  3. I would pass. Partner didnt pass 1♠ which he would often with 12-14 bal and 3 card support. So he either has some supermax and 3 card support where game is excellent or more often only 2 spades. Furthermore partner may be light for his 3rd seat opener.
  4. I would pass now and compete in diamonds if they stop in 2M.
  5. I hate 3♣ with an aceless hand and singleton in partners suit. Playing with myselft I would bid 1♠-2♥ 2N-3♠ 3N-4♠
  6. Agree with Rainer South basically denied a double stop in hearts when he failed to bid 3N over 3♥. Its quite difficult to construct a hand consistent with the double where slam would be less than 50%. The biggest danger I can see it if the spade Ace is missing and they can take a ruff in the side suit (clubs or spades). But even if this is the case they will need to find the right lead.
  7. I would open whatever my systemic opening is for a balanced 17 count with 5♥s
  8. I like to play 2N as invit+ with 4 card support which wouls work great here. Not having that I am endplayed into Jaccoby 2N, but I dont like it.
  9. 3NT for me. Despite 4 card support. 4333 is bad, 15 HCP is bad, AQJ is bad, 3 Jacks are bad. Ofcourse if partner has a stiff spade its probably better to play 5/6♣s. Still they havent lead a spade yet, and the stopper may be good enough for +630 anyway.
  10. jfaria+the_clown Edit: My partner just said he will not make it, so we are out. Sry.
  11. I also think the friends/ followers "feature" is absolutely horrible and would be happy to see it rolled back. I have enjoyed almost all of the improvements of the web version in recent years, but this is really pretty bad IMHO.
  12. Its amazing his partner couldnt overcall with a 6 card suit and a 10 count at the 1 level.
  13. Sry I didnt want to even remotely suggest that I know more about the game than JEC or that I could possibly play better than him. As we all know playing his style he is able to compete with the best in the world.
  14. With my favourite partner I can happily open 2♥ to show 9-12 6♥s. (Playing multi) If not I would probably open 1, but dont mind pass. I will open a weak 2 only opposite someone like JEC, but thats ok since his preempts are closer to a strong 1♣ opener than to my typical weak 2♥.
  15. I wouldnt finess they are probably col for 2♠ so 1N= should be fine
  16. I would suggest natural with undisciplined weak jumps. It will be hard for them to double you, since double would just mean some strong hand without a good suit. Also sometimes when you are sure they are strong (e.g. 1♣-p-1♦ and you have nothing) or p p p 1♣ it could be useful to just make a simple overcall to disturb their auction. Option 2 is Canape, but you need to really know what you are doing if you decide to play it.
  17. Not crazy, but it gives them one more round of bidding and may talk them out of 4♥. If I knew they are bidding 3N, I would bid 3♥.
  18. Agree with 3♠, pass now. Bidding 4♠ the first time is asking for 800-1100, besides there is no guarantee they can make game.
  19. I dont think you could blame South for making his systemmic response. (The hand looks like a good 18 to me, but surely not worth an upgrade to 20) I blame the system since it does not give North any space to investigate below 4♠. If South could show this hand by bidding 4♦, North could bid 4♥ last train and now for South it will be clear to go on. Of course it would be even better if this hand can be shown with a lower bid.
  20. Also 2♥ for me, dont think much could go wrong here.
  21. Lol, I guess I should read what I write be4 posting
  22. Pass, but dont think 3♦ is horrible.
